Here's a list of questions other people have asked about Travel Insurance Direct
I was recently diagnosed with cancer and have set a 'get well' target of a trip to Italy next year for my birthday - does this pre-existing condition mean that I cannot get travel insurance for medical ?

I heard about travel insurance companies not paying claims related to medical conditions, including when alcohol was involved. How can we know we’re really covered? What do we need to know about alcohol and other factors that could negate our cover?

I was wondering how long it takes them to pay if your suitcases get lost during travel... Do you have to wait for forms to process or can you get the money straight away?

Travelling to the USA and then to the UK. From the UK we have a cruise in the Caribbean for 14 nights. Will be returning home via Hong Kong. Will the cruise part of the holiday be covered under a 'worldwide' policy? Thank you.

Hi there,
I highly recommend you read 'every single word' in the policy and then read them again including all exclusions, they seem to find an exclusion or clause for everything. I would ring them up and ask them everything you want to know...make sure you get the names of who you are talking to, not that it helps anyway!!! I would personally not use them ever again.Good luck and hope you won't need to claim at all.

Same as the post from Griswalds, read policy & all the exclusions, read again & again then you will realise that they can deny any claim they wish according to the wording, very broad terms mean they can deny any claim, what means one thing to you will mean totally different to them & in there favour.
If there terms of policy were made more specific, they would not be able to deny claims. It's up to you,but don't just go off this review site,it's very easy to see that most of the posts rating 5 stars are posted by somebody from there company, they register & post on the same day & only make one post with a 5 star rating, pretty obvious really.

sorry to hear that. Unfortunately we can't cover you for any claim relating to or associated with that pre-existing Medical Condition. You can still buy TID's Travel insurance for it's other cover, however you won't be able to claim for any medical condition relating to your cancer.
If we can be of further assistance by phone please call us on 1300 843 843.
And from all of us at TID, we hope your trip to Italy is a great success.
Good luck and get well soon.
