1 Eileen  · Just realised the 100 pack box of teabags is now 80. Same size box just looks a quarter empty when you open it
5 Baz  · Wonderful tea, full of flavour and a joy to drink.
1 Frances C.  · Trying to find out why! – It has no body now or flavor. It is like drinking hot water. I always bought it before, but the last 2 boxes have been awful.
1 Anne M.  · What have you done Mr Twinings – Like so many others. For the last many months it tastes like dishwater. No flavour, no depth. Will find another brand.
1 Jesse P.  · Disappointing – Pretty tasteless. Just tastes like hot water. Won't buy this again.
1 John  · Disappointing – Double the price of other brands and poorer quality nowadays. Dusty tea, tag comes off when dunking bag, taste disappointing.

As the reviews attest, Twinings has joined the list of companies putting profit before quality. Unfortunately they seem to be forgetting what their product is altogether! Try French Earl Grey if you want to not taste anything except fake vanilla. Try Russian Caravan if you want to taste wood shavings. These were my favourite Twinings teas in the… Read more

past and recently I decided to try them again. I have never had such weak, bland, tainted teabags! Established 1706 and now on the downward slide to obscurity. What an absolute tragedy. Here is an article describing the profit that has ruined your tea. https://www.business-live.co.uk/retail-consumer/twinings-tea-profit-uks-most-31737146

The taste has changed in recent months. Been drinking it for decades. Recent boses taste like the bads have been stored with a vanilla or herbal tea bag. Devastating! Disappointing, I love my tea. If it isn't broken, don't fix it! Show details

This tea has deteriorated substantially. It no longer has flavour & body, especially the Irish breakfast. Delimah & Australian teas are nicer. Never buying twinnings again.

Almost 50% of tea bags I have used from my latest purchase are faulty. Either the tags unwind from the bag, two bags are joined or bag sealing comes apart in the cup. I have attempted to contact wings by phone. No answer. Quality control appears non existent with twinings English breakfast tea.

Twinings English Breakfast tastes Like Earl Grey and I don't like Earl Grey – I have been a dedicated Twinings tea drinker for many years and recently snapped up 4 boxes of 100 medium strength English Breakfast tea bags at Coles as they were out on half price special. I had my first cup from one of these boxes and it tastes a little like Earl Grey and I don't like Earl Grey. I notice that there is also an aftertaste in my… Read more

mouth after having a cup of the new flavour teat.

The taste was so different that I even went to the cupboard to make sure that I had not absently picked up another brand of tea - nope - it is still labelled as Twinings medium strength English Breakfast only its not. I did notice that the packaging has changed slightly from my previous box (expiry date 28/01/2026) - the new box expiry date is 17/03/2026 and whereas the old box said Twinings Of London the new box only has Twinings and has a stamp saying Sourced With Care.

Has this tea changed? Will the other 3 x boxes taste the same - if so I may also be changing.

Lady grey not lady grey – Same issue as above, brown tea bags in blue lady grey box bought at Woolworths August 2019. Flavour is ok but not lady grey tea. Is there some recourse here? Show details

It Was my favourite – Hi everyone I used to really enjoy Twinings English Breakfast Tea. It was my absolute favourite. But, after I had my daughter, I noticed the change in flavour. I put it down to hormonal changes. I've tried drinking it on & off over the years. But, it's official. I really do not like it. Think I'll stick with my Tetley Extra Strong. ☺

A delicious tea – I bought the Twinings English Breakfast Extra Strong, and I love it!! I have it black with no sugar, and quite strong. I bought some more last week on special at WW. But the normal price is high. I do love the tea though. Show details

Mum has no issues – Granted she also drinks it super weak, I’ve drank it stronger and had no issues with the flavour though. I love their peppermint as I have issues with trapped gas and GERD, so their peppermint causes me no GERD and gets rid of the gasses around 50% of the time. So yeah we’re both happy me and mum.

Fix your fkn teabags !!! I'm so sick of seeing little tea leaves floating around in my cup of tea as soon as I add the milk. As soon as we separate that little useless red tag on the string from the tea bag, it puts a small hole in the tea bag... no matter how many hundreds of times I have tried to be gentle.. So I'm abandoning twinings now.… Read more

But I do have a burning question after all these years.....

Clearly this is not news to you..... so my question to twinings is: Why won't twinings make a decent fkn tea bag in which to keep your decent fkn tea. !!!???.. or why not remove the string and tag altogether??? Ffs !

This morning I tipped out my final cup of tea leaves from fkn twinings !

The latest English Breakfast bags are faulty as the string comes off. This means you cannot use the string to make a strong cuppa and the tea leaves are ejected into the cup of tea...yuuukkk! Show details

The tea has changed-terrible – What has happened to this tea?! I recently bought a variety pack and English Breakfast one of my favourites. It didn’t have any flavour at all! Assam is one of the main tea leaves used in English Breakfast. It has a distinctive malty flavour that gives it a lot of depth. It’s as though they’ve eliminated all of the Assam. It also had a strange… Read more

smell, almost like notes of clay. Btw, I always drink my tea out of bone china so it’s not the cup. I also purchased a box of 100 and 100 of the Earl Grey. I’m nervous to even try them. The code for the variety pack is 27/JN/06 PL, 0000733846-158, 13:11. The 100 English Breakfast is 27/Feb/01 PL, 0000719478-033, 10:28

Worst tea – Twinings was highly regarded among the best in the world. Now it has degenerated to the lowest quality tea. The only thing that has changed is the exorbitant price. Paying a high price for awful quality tea is unacceptable. Show details

Disappointed with Twinnings – The taste has changed and not for the better. With a change in packaging came a change in the flavour of the tea. Twinnings you have let your loyal tea drinkers down. I will not buy again. Going to check other brands. Show details

horrible flavor and grounds in my tea – I have been a loyal customer to Twinning breakfast tea for a long time. the taste is like it used to be. I taste disgusting. There are grounds that come out of the k cups most of the times. it is not enjoyable at all. I always looked forward to a cup of tea in the morning and in the evenings.. now I will have to find a new brand. This has been with the last 2 orders that I have purchased in July/September 2024. What did you do?

Twinings English Breakfast Tea is bland and tasteless now – I opened a new box of Twinings English Breakfast Tea and it tastes weird. No tea taste at all. I opened a new box, and it tasted the same, but both had the label: Expiration 07/MAY/2027 PL, 0000730001 - 131 08:50. I then opened a new carton of milk which tasted great on its own, but the tea was still bland and didn't taste or smell like tea. I had… Read more

3 new boxes with this label. The cups were fresh out of the dishwasher by the way. So I opened a new box of Twinings English Breakfast Tea dated 02/JUN/2027 OK 0000733356 - 155 15L22 and it was worse. I only had one box with this label, but that's 4 boxes wasted. I'm going out to get another brand of tea because I'm British born and need my good tea!

Corporate greed and no customer service – My wife and I are long time drinkers of Twinings Tea and I am hoping there is a fault in the Twinings manufacturing process with our current tea. I have 4 boxes of Twinings English Breakfast Extra Strong. I have now opened two of the boxes and the tea tastes nothing like it should. It has a strange sweet fragrance and a sweet chemical flavour. I… Read more

had to tip the cup down the sink. It was not a one off as I have tried another two bags from that freshly opened box with the same result so then opened another. It was a box with a different batch number and again the same unbearable flavour. This issue does take me back to a bout 7 years ago when Twinings tried to change the tea recipe and it was disgusting. We complained along with lots of other people and the tea returned to normal. I hope for your businesses sake this isn’t what has happened again. I have 4 boxes of 100 which we always purchase from Woolworths. Firstly how do I get my money back and secondly what action will Twinings be taking?

The Batch Numbers are as follows - 0000726272-094 0000723616-073 0000730445-139 0000730445-139

At this stage I have had to go out and buy Lipton Extra Intense Tea Bags and thankfully the flavour of this tea is good.

I have used the Twinings Corporate website to Raise this issue and I have still had no response after 2 weeks. They clearly see their customers as an annoyance.

Addendum - approximately 6 weeks after making my complaint Twinings Customer Service came to the party and provided me with a pack of various teas to replace the faulty tea. It seems the tea was faulty due the manufacturing or transport process and I haven’t had any further problems to date.

No more Earl Grey experience – I don’t know what genius at Twinning decided to change the formula of their Earl Grey Tea, but I have stopped buying their Earl Grey. There is no bergamot in their tea and this flavour alone distinguishes Earl Grey from others. I have written to them only to say that they have not changed the recipe. This is total crap…. I have been drinking… Read more

Twinning for over 50 years and they have changed their Earl Grey blend. I now use Dilmah Earl Grey and suggest others to do the same. What a shame Twinnings, driven by cost and not flavour. Remember what happened to Qantas ….!!!

What happened? – I have been a completely loyal Twinings English Breakfast tea drinker for 40+ years. No more. It has changed, it is awful. I’ve now binned 3 x 100 teabag packs. I thought it was tainted, then it was me, then I realised it is now just different. A sad goodbye…. Show details

Twinings why is your recipe now hot leafy dirt juice? – WHAT DID YOU DO TWININGS?!? Brewing a cuppa after the kids went to bed was always enjoyable and a moment to wind down from the day. For years we would only get Twinings English Breakfast and sip away. Now…we can’t even finish what is now a cup of hot dirty cigarette water that leaves a mouth feel that is weirdly dry and wet at the same time. You phoned it in Twinings Show details

Floor Sweepings – Like many old companies, I feel like Twinings are resting on the laurels of past excellence, and now just phoning it in to make a quick buck. They probably got bought by Disney. They’re now just floor sweepings, and I get a mouth full of dust when I brew with it, even after I’ve used a strainer. I gave it two stars because there are worse things out there, but they aren’t the quality brand they once were. Show details

Dishwater – I have been drinking Twinings for years and always thought what good quality it is. For the last month I thought there was something wrong with my taste buds. It’s so bad it feels like drinking muddy water with some chemical in it. It’s given me an awful headache too. I’m going to throw my brand new packet away and leave the brand for good. Shame bought a new one this morning Show details

Changed and not for the better – What have you done Twinnings?? I’ve been drinking your English Breakfast tea daily for over 40 years, never swaying to a different brand. But the last box I’ve bought (which unfortunately is a box of 100) is nothing like it used to be. I will not be purchasing again
