Owned for 14 years and still love it – Have owned since 2008 and with a little care and maintenance it can last decades. Reliable Briggs and Stratton 450 classic engine which is bullet proof. Just got to use fresh fuel and clean the air filter regularly and lightly re oil. With the odd engine oil change and blade change it cuts like new again. Show details

Mismatched dimensions and specifications – Great mower that has done a wonderful job keeping my lawn under control. Dimensions are are 90% METRIC and of course, the diameter is IMPERIAL! Would it be possible to have consistency across the list of specifications? Show details

Amazing mower, has been used for over a decade and still runs! – I've had this mower for almost 13 years now, Cant fault it. Its absolutely amazing! Reason im not giving 5 stars is because I do have some trouble with starting, It defiently gets harder to start over time unlike my old 1998 Honda lawn mower (Honda buffalo), However the Victa gets the job done. Has alot of power and offers a clean cut and its also… Read more

build for Aussie conditions (like any other Victa). And I love the old basic design powerful Briggs & Stratton engine! Sadly its discountinued, I also do use it for my lawn care buisness although its a homeowners mower, it'll defiently get the job done in commercial conditions, Would defiently recommend buying one if they weren't discontinued or if you see one thats for a good price second hand!

I've had this mower over two years with no problems – My last mower was a Flymo which I had for 17 years! Yep, it lasted that long. But reviews for the later version weren't good so I checked ProductReview and saw great reviews for the smaller Victa Lawnkeeper and at the time there wasn't one for the 1300W. I bought it because I have a large backyard and front yard. Can't fault it. Three levels to… Read more

choose for grass cutting, catcher etc. I do have some fruit trees in the backyard, a plum tree and a pear tree that produces pears so hard you could put them in cannons to bring down castle walls. The plums are a pain as sometimes I'll go over them and at one point a stone lodged itself in a corner of the plastic where the cutting blade is. So, if you have stoned fruit with stones that are particularly sharp, try to rake them up first because Murphy's law one will smack into the corners of the deck and crack it a bit.

After over two years of use I found the screws that hold the handle to the deck were coming loose but they're simple woodscrews so I just screwed them back in. I think that's from all the pulling sideways when steering around the garden.

Super tough areas of grass can cause the engine to slow and I mean super thick grass and I only know of one patch like this on the nature strip next to a manhole cover.

Despite those minor points I would highly recommend this mower from my experience of using it.

Cant believe this thing – I bought one of these brand new in 2008. Its 11 years later, never serviced it, totally neglected. The last 7 years its sat half exposed to weather including cyclones. Last month, fuel topup and first pull, away it went. Gob smacked, what a product.... Daughter now gets $10/week to mow our yard with it. Unreal Show details

Can’t Fault & Love It – This Victa Lawnkeeper ESP360 model Electric Mower is the 1300 Watt stronger tgan base model the ESP300 1000 Watt. My lawn mower man quit & i being a 53 year old lady with a very bad back & limited income decided to look into a second hand electric mower. I had used to use a Flymo that was passed onto me by my father years ago at my last house &… Read more

besides the cord being a pain, i remembered it being a lot easier to use than a petrol mower.

I bought the Victa Lawnkeeper ESP360A second hand 7 months ago & it’s paid for itself 10 times over already & still going strong. I was a bit hesitant buying a different brand as my only experience had been with a Flymo.

I already had a heavy duty extension cord, as no cord was provided with mower it wasn’t an issue for me

I have been totally impressed. It’s light, east to manoeuvre, easy to operate, just press button whilst pulling lever.

It shreds throgh overgrown grass (as i bought cheap second hand i admit I’ve been a bit rough on it) but it’s held its own & continues to soldier on.

This mower has totally earned my respect. The catcher is efficient (i do have to empty quite often as my yard is quite large, with couch grass, my whole block is 700m2, including my house ).

Of course as with all cord electric mowers, cord is a pain, but the inconvenience of ensuring you don’t run over it is worth all the benefits

I thoroughly recommend this mower, i know it was a few years old when i purchased it. The man i bought it from did advise he’d just sharpened blades with an angle grinder & that had improved its performance from his experience.

I’m actually so impressed i’ve just arranged to purchase another one second hand as a back up. Both costing me the same as cost of one lawn mow from lawn mower man

A++ from Me

My new bff – I bought my 3-yo bff secondhand from someone whose lawn had become established and too large, compared to the patch it was. He was gracious enough to let me try it out, and showed me how to change the cutting height. I tried the catcher and found no difficulty in removing and reattaching it. I was excited! Bought a 25m extension cord and got… Read more

on to my first mow ever in my life! It was brilliant!

Okay, first I have couch grass that is low but seeding , with low weeds. The lawn had been previously shorn by the gardener and had regrown patchily.

I powered it, pressed the safety button then squeezed the lever and away it went!

I mowed on the middle height and it missed the clovers so I changed it to a low cut, which i had vowed I'd never do! To do that, i turned the lightweight bff upside down, like a turtle on its back. There are springs attached to the but that i pushed at each wheel to change the level. A but tougher on the front wheels but not terribly hard, even for me.

On the low height, it dug into the sandy parts but otherwise did the job of getting the low weeds too. As I mowed, I noticed it mulched leaves and collected these in the catcher! No raking! It did that on the middle level too.

It tackled some concrete bits with loose stones.... not sure if it blunt the blades.

It was so easy to maneuver that I mowed with one hand while the other held the cord. I took the advise of another to start from the closest part to avoid going over the cord.

When I hit a part that was tricky, I released the power lever to reposition. No problem to restart by squeezing the lever again. Unlike a Flymo, which I had watched on YouTube (yes, my homework was thorough), it doesnt go side to side as it has 4 wheels.

When bits flew out of the catcher, I suspected it was full. True! I emptied it twice. Not too heavy and everything came out easily enough. The catcher was replaced in seconds.

When done, I gave it a few taps and rolled my bff off to its new bedroom. My lawn now looks even and as the weeds are under control, I can mow at a higher level....I think.

Only issues are: some of its parts are plasticky, and could become brittle over time, i think. Its blade may need changing in time. The previous owner said in a couple if years and Bunnings should stock it.

More importantly, do not wash your hair before a date with Victa, nor wear white, and wear covered shoes to avoid ant bites, consider safety glasses ... my learning curve.

Perfect replacement for handheld mower – Great replacement for my old handheld electric mower. Save myself on purchasing blades replacement and the constant aching arms swinging the old mower. The new mower works well on the small to medium size garden. Save on the costs of petrol as well. It comes with a bag at the rear to collect the grass. Only maintenance is to clean the blades and bag after mowing which are easy to access. Mow the lawn quite well and with ease.  Show details

Don't believe the haters of electric mowers – I have had this unit for nearly 13 years. It has worked flawlessly for that entire time. Never needed a service or part replaced. The total running cost for over a decades is just a few cents in electricity. I have a half acre block that is pretty much a jungle and although it can struggle when the weeds get over 1m high, it copes with any… Read more

normal workload just fine. My only thought would be go for the larger ESP360 if you can afford the extra $50, for the extra grunt when you've been lazy and haven't mowed for 6 months.

It is tough! – I have mine since 2009, using it for my small business. Despite not be very nice to it, all the abuse it gets, it has never fail. The only time it didn't work was my son fault, he put some water in the tank... Easy fix, empty the tank, put new fuel in and after a bit of puffing and smoke, it ran well. Maintenance is the key to have them in good… Read more

working order, you can have them serviced once every 2 years for a normal use (oil, spark plug, air filter) that's around $50. Do it yourself maybe $20. I use mine a lot more and if you hear a salesman telling you you need a larger engine otherwise they won't last long... Let me tell you they are wrong. What makes any lawn mower good is the engine, Briggs & Stratton are by far the best in small engines. The 450 is the smallest on the market and it goes! In 5 years I only changed the gasket once and it was just to improve the running. This engine is simple easy to service on your own, parts are easy to find and dirt cheap. So a regular oil change, new air filter and spark plug will make the mower go for ever. Sharpen the blad every now and then.

The body is robust, I only have surface rust on the parts that are been abused, mainly because I knocked the sides. It catches grass well, just read the signs of the first drop of grass to empty it and you'll have perfect results every time. Dont expect to fill the catcher to max capacity when the grass is wet or heavy, that's the same for every mower!

It is a light model, easy to start. The only down part is the throttle cable running over the petrol cap, a bit of a pain sometimes to put it back on. The other thing is that lately I can't stop the engine from the command leaver, I have to push it manually from the engine. I guess it's time to clean it properly and oil a bit in there. Last thing, if you make this mower travel make sure to check the nuts around the engine as some may loosen. Nothing that lock thight won't solve...

Overall a good buy for the average backyard. No need of the fancy stuff, or bling colours... It's a mower not a beauty pageant, and it does a great work at it.

Great value for money mower – I purchased my victa second hand 5 years ago from Radio Rentals and it has not missed a beat. It starts first time, every time and is so durable it forgave me… Read more

when I decided the best way to get rid of my brother's left over glow plug engine fuel was to put in in the tank of this mower. It rather unsurprisingly didn't like it very much, but a few tanks of regular petrol through it and it was running as sweet as a nut again.

The body is fairly lightweight being pressed steel - but that is reflected in the low purchase price. If you desire a decent cast alloy body, you need to pay a lot more than these go for. The catcher is a decent full plastic job instead of the cheap nasty mesh ones that disintegrate and get holes if you run over stones with them that are prevalent in this price range of mower.

I hit a tree stump with it recently and it started to vibrate badly, all I did was turn it over and just hit the blades with a hammer back into position then sharpened both with my angle griinder for luck. She cuts as good as new again.

Overall, this is an excellent mower for the purchase price - there are updated models available on the market even to this day. As long as you see that Briggs and Stratton engine sitting atop, you can be assured that your mower will last and last and last.

Can't Complain at all – We bought from K-Mart about 8 years ago for $299. A minor issue with the throttle since the beginning that made it hard to start but I managed. I decided to get it fixed recently and it only costed $40. Now it's easy to start. I'm sure it will last for another 8 years. One thing is I wish there is more power, otherwise overall a good machine.

contamination. Starts first or second pull every time. Used about 5 hours per week except during Winter or prolonged dry spells, wasn't expecting too long a lifespan but still not using any oil and quite reasonable on fuel (about 90 minutes from a full tank on a modest throttle) Stupidly reliable. Indestructible. Mechanically simple. Tiny design flaw, throttle cable runs over fuel cap making unscrewing the cap a little fiddly.

A ripper mower small in size but great in performance – I purchased this mower second hand a couple of years ago off ebay. It was a bargain and has worked faultlessly. spark plug, ripping your arm off pulling the start cord. No smell!

Still going strong and only just sharpened the blades. Catcher works great. Need to watch the electric cord but I never ever came close to chopping it but did have a long cord.

I gave it 5 stars due to faultless performance over at least 2 years and doing what it is designed to do. Does what its intended for and small size, quiet, cuts well, light weight, catcher, no smell, runs on electricity, no servicing required or petrol Small size means smaller blade area, more suited for smaller lawns, need a long electric cord and need to be careful you don't chop it, catcher will fill up quickly if grass is long, small catcher

In The Bin It Goes – Ive been using electric lawn mowers for eight years. My first mower, another brand lasted 7 years. However this Victa mower lasted 14 months. LONG TIME AND THEIR ENGINEERING SHOWS IN THIS TOO. i bought a "lawnkeeper 360' it has a 1300 watt motor.

i was doutfull at first about its usefullness, but i was wrong.

i have used petrol for over 35 years and this was my first electric.

today i had to cut the medium strip which was 600mm high and thick, normally the council does it, but it was out of control, and cutting the front lawn still did not look good with the strip the way it was.

it had not rained for a week, so the grass was dry but long, too long.

i took it slow to start with so not to burn out the motor, i was astounded by its power, it cut through it like nothing, mind you i sharpen and ballance the blade after every mow, razor sharp blades always lighten the load on the motor, and it keeps high revs easily. the catcher is narrow at the front(opening),you have to shake it hard to empty it. and you have to be systematic with mowing, you have to cut the grass away from the power source(not to run over the power cord).

the catcher could have been a little bigger, its so efficent at cutting it fills up fast and regular.it could have had a better height adjustment.

Good – Good cheap reliable mower for regular lawn maintenance. Challenging to use in longer grass. 4-stroke has the benefit of not needing to premix fuel. - Easy to start. - Not too heavy (32kg) so it's fairly easy to push around. - Not very loud compared with bigger / stronger mowers. - Can take some rough treatment. - Good on fuel economy. -… Read more

Relatively cheap. - No guts whatsoever in longish grass (148cc). Good mower for maintaining a clean-cut lawn, but you'll have to be patient and take it real slow if the lawn is long/dense.

- Awkward to fuel with the fuel inlet being down on the side.

- Turns off before the fuel tank is fully empty.

- Difficult to start the first time when it's brand new (not sure how this compares with other motors).

No complaints for a cheap, entry level mower – I bought the Lawnkeeper 16 for $229 at Bunnings. With a B&S motor, you can hardly go wrong at the price. quiet. Height adjustment works as expected (easily!) The catcher is only a fabric bag as opposed to full plastic, but again, what do you expect for the price. It does the job and will probably last the life of the mower.

Minor complaints might be the location of oil filler and the throttle cable running against the fuel filler cap, but really a non-issue.

Warranty is 1 year on frame and 2 years on the motor. Providing you change the oil every now and again, I'm sure the engine will outlast the frame. Inexpensive and quiet.

recommended by Briggs & Stratton.

However it does start first pull every time. It is relatively quiet and being light is easy to use. Cleaning after use is just as easy too. It does a pretty good job in cutting the grass and if looked after should last quite awhile.

There is no drain plug on the engine so it is recommended you get an oil change kit and using the pump with the kit you drain the oil out via the oil filler hole. The Victa Lawn keeper is not a bad little unit, would have preferred a solid plastic catcher but the cloth bag is okay. If you have a small to medium lawn then this a great little mower. Good – I've had this lawnmower since 2005 and it starts first time all the time. I've just serviced the mower few days ago with a new spark plug, mower blades, oil change, air filter etc and the parts our quite affordable as compared to Honda etc. All in all it's a good machine but I'd still upgrade to a Honda regardless of the cost of their spare parts and also the premium price. Starts first time. 18in is a bit small for a large lawn.

husband won't use it. And one more thing, why do the make these mowers with a petrol tap? An old person is just going to get even more confused when the mower doesn't start, thinking they forgot to turn the tap off. But surprise, surprise, no matter which way they turn it, it still won't start.

Honestly, why would a mower manufacturer build a mower (if they had older ppl and women in mind) that has a key start but hard to start, very heavy to push and hard to change the gadgets over and make it a two stroke, just to confuse the issue.

Doesn't make sense to me.

After 2 summers, we bought a Masport Morrison for half the price. Very light too push. Starts first time ( as long as the petrol tank is for and press the button 3 times) everytime and is just so lovely to use and no petrol tap to turn on and off.

Thumbs down to Victa. We will never buy another one. Their ride-ons are not much better but, that's another story.

well unfortunately I can't summit this without giving a rating, so I'll give it 1 star but I don't think it deserves even that.

This mower must have been designed for someone who is super human. For starters it's a key start but hard to start, even on a full battery. Very heavy to push and is two stroke. We were told that two stroke can handle thicker grass. yeah right! Only cuts the grass nice, if it was cut within the last 3 days. Very hard to remove the mulching thing to replace the catcher and very hard to insert it back in for mulching.
