Good enough for me, maybe not everyone is an improvement – I collect Vacuum Cleaners from Hard rubbish and restore them, I came across this and found it quite unique, when plugged in it had made a rechewed screeching and scraping noise. I found after taking out the canister that it had been used without a filter and dust had been caked inside the blades, motor and post motor filter which later… Read more
disintegrated when I washed it. After further inspection I found the most common problem (with most vacuum motors) that the bottom bearing had seized, so instead of throwing it back in the rubbish I took it apart and found that the grease inside of the bearing had dried out from the big impact of dust flowing inside, took out the much and oiled it, works much better.
I have not experienced the cord overheating or falling out yet...although I think most people just throw their machines around too much. The filtration is quite poor, although the suction power is immaculate, but I am guessing most people installing the cyclone backwards causes the loss of suction, I have also found that is can be quite loud, (from time to time), and quite bulky for a cylinder machine. A good washing of the filters every 1-2 months keeps this machine maintaining properly, and if I cannot wash them, I'll just use an air compressor to blow out the dust. I use this machine for the cars and for the house sometimes depending on whether I can be bothered to pull out the big Dyson. I do like this machine, and I would love Electrolux to bring this model back with a few little improvements.
The improvement suggestions - Thicker and a better filter system, better seals (around base and bin), a smaller Hepa-filter along with smaller holes for airflow, a different bin design (as in better cyclone system), a turbo head, and finally a quieter motor.
I certainly love the quality and durability to Electrolux vacuum cleaners and I trust their products, I haven't many problems occur, and I continue to trust this company. They are like Hoover, very loyal to their customers and respect their ideas and opinions.
terrible Electrolux vacuum cleaner – I bought an Electrolux ZSC6930 super cyclone cleaner almost 4 years ago. It has been a terrible vacuum cleaner from the start. The cord plug will not stay in any socket and becomes very hot at the plug which is dangerous. It stops and starts from time to time during use which is due to the poor plug connection and very small movement. The cord… Read more
usually retracts on first go if you are careful how you leave the cord prior to retraction. However the retract button almost always stays jammed in, and you have to fiddle numerous times to get it to come back up. The 'click on' parts of the wand / handle regularly come apart and the metal wand falls on the floor. The main hard floor tool head broke internally at the swivel point recently. It is a second cleaner I use on hard porcelain tile floors only, so only has had partial time of and easy use. The filtration is a very poor design. Significant elements of the design and manufacture of this cleaner are extremely poor design and build quality.
poor design – there are a number of failings of our Electrolux vacuum cleaner. The most annoying is that the plug that goes into the wall socket or an extension cord, keeps falling out at the least provacation, like dropping the plug join from less that about 200mm above the floor. Regardless of how I try to bend the two pins to try and get them to stay in the… Read more
socket, they do not. The cord return button almost always jams down when you depress it and you have to fiddle for some time to get it to return back up - otherwise the cord will retract while you are trying to use the machine. The joins between the various bits of tube should be good in that they have clicking joint connections, but they regularly come apart during use. The block foam filter too easily allows particles to get around the filter, so it is clear that contaminated air is being pumped back into the room. The small white flat filter immediately after the black foam filter appears too small and does not stay retained on the pins meant to hold it in place. The opening and more particularly closing of the main opening to access the bagless cyclone feels like it is going to break when being used, so we treat it with kid gloves. We have AEG front load washing machine and an AEG dishwasher plus an Electrolux pyrolytic oven, that in general do a good to very good job, but this vacuum is highly problematic. The only reason we have continued to use it is that we also have a Dyson that is significantly better that the Electrolux for carpet cleaning, but we are looking to replace the supercyclone machine. It has always been highly frustrating and annoying to use.

Excellent vacuum – Have had this vacuum since it first came out, so about 8 years. It's been through a lot, moving from house to house and getting treated rough by several housemates. Not gonna lie, I also pull it around by its hose but it's still in great condition and works great. Right now my house is 85% carpet that was probably laid in the eighties and this… Read more
unit keeps it clean. I recently changed a couple of filters (not the hepa filter cause that got changed last year after someone kept switching it on from the PowerPoint while the dial was on full power so it blew a whole in the filter) this time my dog chewed up the sponge filter while it was outside drying. Anyway, the vacuum pretty much sucks the carpet off the floor. I have to empty it about 7 times cause my carpet is so thick and it picks up so much dog hair and dust. Only couple of things that have broken in 8 years are :the pipe extender sometimes doesn't click in properly right away and the power cord button gets stuck which is an easy fix, I just have to press it in a specific way and it pops up again. Overall I would definitely buy an electrolux vacuum cleaner again! It's been amazing!
This is a great vacuum it cleans beautifully I am very fussy and a perfectionist. I live this machin – Please tell me where I can get more filter sponges. I think it is the best vacuum I have ever had. Please tell me where I can get more filter sponges please. I am very happy with the way it cleans. I have been to all the cleaning stores to try to find what I need. To find it has been discontinued is absolutely awful. What do I do now? Buy a new one? Show details
Awesome suction needs work – Awesome suction power, not light but glides on floor easily I have 4 bed room house does carpet and slate and vino Only problem and it's a problem with every single one we have purchased is the pole comes unattached from device and you need to mask tape it to hold on. Used mine for 5.5 years. It overheated and Godfrey has been unhelpful – A couple of years ago, the power dial wouldn't go completely off so I had to unplug from the wall. The plastic button to change the head broke a year ago as well. I only used it at power 2 out of a possible 5 most of the time and it was good. But yeh, the tube got blocked once, it overheated and now it's gone. Godfreys was unhelpful too, they… Read more
charged me $20 to take it to their warehouse and tell me they don't have the parts for it. I'm mostly bitter at Godfreys. This vacuum was great, I would have been happy to pay for a new motor, I can see it's about $100 on ebay. I now have a negative emotional connection worth $20 to my electrolux so time for me to look at Miele or Henry.
Great vac, but way too loud and a mix and match of flimsy and high quality bits – Our family uses this vac weekly for our house, cars, shed and rental properties. I'd say this vac is the "Toyota" of the vacuum world. It works well, reasonably priced, reliable and put together reasonably well. Pros: - Suction is fantastic and constantly strong. - Price is reasonable. - Genuine filter replacements are also reasonably… Read more
priced.
- Solid body.
- Weight of the vacum isn't to bad.
- Body stands up well to getting knocked about, used weekly and given heavy cleaning tasks.
- The wand seems to be of good quality but the wand handle and heads seem flimsy and have a cheap feel.
- Zero problems in the years I've owned it
Cons:
- Extremely noisy
- Power cord gets warm after constant use on max setting - there should be no excuse for this as it is a safety item.
- Power cord kinks too easy
- Wand handle, heads, hose and attachments feel cheap/flimsy, but never had issues with breakage/damage.
worst vacuum cleaner ever – i bought my Electrolux vacuum cleaner in February 2016 first time I used it it over heated which caused it to stop working I stopped using it after that but my husband used it to vacuum the car had a burning smell then stopped working this is the worst vacuum cleaner ever now I read that it has been discontinued Show details

Hopefully manufacturer has learnt from this model – The performance suction was satisfactory thus coped with the tiles and carpet floors fine. It feels very light because of the thin plastic parts utilised in construction of this product such as the immensely thin power cord and very thin plastic hose. The fragile hose has torn at both ends hence had to buy a replacement hose. The power cord becomes quite warm very quickly. Show details
Powerful suction – It's been a pretty good vacuum the suction is so good! You do loose it sometimes but you just need to clean the filter and you're good to go again. Unfortunate the parts on the handle ect are made with cheap plastic that adventually snaps. I've had tape holding the vacume pole together to be able to use it. Somewhat annoying but I've learnt to deal with it. There's probably better out there Show details
Fantastic – I do professional cleaning for a living and l have used all types of vaccum cleaners in my line of work but this vaccum cleaner is the one l like the most it has fantastic suction is easy to use comes with different attachments l would highly recommend this vaccum cleaner Show details
Great Vacuum – Strange how some have problems, others don't. I've had mine for a year now. used weekly to vacuum a large four bedroom house...no problems, no overheating, very very powerful. It did lose suction once but a thorough clean of the dust collector box and filters fixed that (very thorough clean, completely dismantled taking care not to break plastic tabs and rinsing in warm water. Pay particular attention to areas around rubber seals) Show details

Good vacuum machine – It is a powerful vacuum machine. However, the machine is not that handy because of the awkward weight of the body. It is not hard for users to empty the box but sometimes it makes the room dusty because of the giant opening of the dust box. Anyway I will recommend it to people who do not mind pulling it around the house. Show details
Handle dropping off – Hi, We had this cleaner for about a year now and find it very good at doing what it should do which it picks up all the dust around the house but what happens is the handle keeps dropping off due to the poor design of the handle locking devise, is there an upgrade ? Compact, Easy to use – This vacuum is compact, light, quick and easy to use, easy to empty. The suction is excellent which I expected from Electrolux. As this brand has been around for many years well known for quality. So I bought this vacuum based on brand and expectation that the quality would be top rate. I haven't been disappointed. It does what I expect it to do. Show details
Just OK – I've had this for a few years. Within a few months the dial that controls the power settings started getting stuck and it's impossible to turn the dial all the way to Off, meaning the plug needs to be pulled out to turn it off. We kept using it as we didn't want the trouble of returning and it still worked. Recently the extension handle has… Read more
stopped clicking into place correctly so if you push hard enough it will collapse. The suction and barrel capacity is reasonable for a small unit area, it would probably fill quickly in a larger house. Overall not impressed and wouldn't buy an Electrolux again.
Horrible - burnt – How can a company build a vaccum cleaner, that is not durable beyond 2 years. Like several others, I have experienced the same thing, bought in April 2015 and just today (3 Jun 2017) some burnt smell from the inside and the cleaner went kaput. Will not waste my money on electrolux ever! Show details

Heap of junk – We bought it in May 2015, didn't use it very much and treated it with due care, and by April 2017 it burnt out (lots of crackling and burning smell). This is such a waste – all of the materials used in its construction are now going to waste just because they built one bit extremely poorly. Electrolux used to be a good reliable brand, but from this experience I will not be buying anything from Electrolux ever again. Show details
Perfect, compact, value for money – We have carpet, hard wood polished floor and tiles. works fantastic on all surfaces and we also have a kelpie who sheds and a baby who crawls so it has been through the wars for sure. Had it for almost 3 years if not a little longer maybe have not had a single issue with it! Show details
I love my Electrolux – I love my electrolux. It is easy to use. Very quiet and makes a good job of cleaning the floors. I have carpet and tiles. It is easy to maneuver and emptying the dirt out is logical. You can also see when it is full. This cleaner is turbo charged. Show details
Very substandard product - overheats and stops working!! – I purchased an ELECTROLUX CYCLONE ZSC6930 vacuum cleaner and exactly as so many other people have described, it overheats and stops working. When it cools down the power resumes however a strange clacking sound starts. It only resumes for a short time and stops again. I had only owned this vacuum cleaner for less than 6 months at the time. I took… Read more
it back to Good Guys who passed it on to another company to have it assessed. They came back and said that the filter was damaged from overheating and that it was my fault because the filter needed frequent replacing. Why does this device overheat in the first place?? Surely this is an alarm bell for Electrolux. We actually did change the filter but no change resulted. They insisted that I had to change the filter frequently in order to avoid the overheating. What a scam!! After bringing it home after it was assessed it still didn't work at all when I plugged it in (after having waited for 4 weeks for it to be assessed). I now have a seven month old vacuum cleaner that doesn't work and no recourse. Under these circumstances I certainly question the quality of Electrolux products and their policies. Absolutely appalled!!

Overheats, sparks – Bought this product a little over a year ago (November 2015). We rarely use it and ensure that the barrell is emptied and cleaned after every use. I did notice that the dust, hair and debris clogs and permeates through the insides of the barrell. Then lately, we've noticed a distinct burnt odour coming from the vacuum whilst in use. The smell was… Read more
so strong it triggered the smoke alarm. I opened the barrell and it barely had any dirt in it, having just been emptied a few days ago. I then tried to run the vacuum with the lid off and I could see a spark from within. This is not a safe product. Do NOT purchase this.

What a machine! – Before having my baby whos now 7months old I needed a vacuum cleaner that could pick up all the deep down dirt without loss of suction, and i am truly impressed with this machine. get on with it , its tough as nails not to heavy and has a longer than usual power cord.
The suction on this beauty is incredible and i know the floors are clean and baby cant find things to put in his mouth! Great buy
Tube comes apart from handle in use – An otherwise very effective and reasonably priced vac is seriously compromised by poor manufacturing of a minor component. As in other reviews, handle comes apart from tube. This is frustrating when you see that the problem is VERY simple: the button that clips it into place doesn't extend into the tube enough; even tho' the exact same… Read more
mechanism is used to attach the various heads to the end, and THAT one is fine. I called Electrolux and they sent out a new tube - easy. Except it had exactly the same flaw as the original. Second time they sent me to a service centre, and after 2 weeks i got the vac back and, you guessed it, a new tube with exactly the same flaw as the original. It needs to be re-manufactured. Meantime, I've gaffa-taped it, which helps a bit. Just try not to twist it in use. So, pros: very powerful - it really sucks. Cons: fails due to a simple fault - which really sucks.

Disappointing compared to my 5 year old Electrolux Ultraactive – The feel of the unit is that it is flimsy. You feel you are likely to break something when you try to open sections of it. The instructions consist of an A3 piece of cheap paper folded over. I have yet to find anyone who can understand them. Many of the diagrams make no sense and there is no writing other than a suggestion that if you have any… Read more
comments on the instructions "manual" to send them via an email address. I did so only to receive a message that no such email address existed. I finally found instructions on the net but they are not much better. The quality of the images is very poor.
The telescopic tube often comes undone from the hose handle as you use the unit and the fit of the tube inside the handle is quite sloppy.
The suction is very good, however.
I contacted Electrolux and spoke with a very pleasant lady who tried to be helpful but, of course, that does not improve the quality of the unit.
I feel I will be lucky if the unit lasts for a year before something breaks.
major fault – I also have the same issues as the previous reviewers - the plastic handle falls out of the wand with the slightest movement. The first time I used it, it fell out at least 10 times. My cheap $50 vacuum cleaner lasted over 5 years without any major problems. Sorry Electrolux, back to the store for this one! Show details

This product is just what I was looking for. Surprised at negative comments – Ok, first of all I am really surprised by the negative reviews by others about this product. I bought one last Friday from the Good Guys for just AUD 229 and that was after doing a ''lot'' of research. I generally do a lot of research before buying anything, let it be a car, a washing machine, a TV, a house or a vacuum cleaner. First i did not… Read more
want to buy an entry level vacuum without the turbo floor tool as my house has very deep carpets. I also wanted a vacuum that offers multiple speeds to use on different surfaces such as sofas etc as I have expensive fabric sofas. I finally decided to buy this, even after reading a lot of negative reviews here, because i thought there's no other vacuum with better value (specially one with a good brand name with turbo cleaning). I got quite impressed when i saw the different kinds of tools to use with it (dust magnet head, hard floor tool, turbo tool, and two other tools which i don't know the names of)..
It took me just 2 minutes to get it ready out of the pack and the moment i started using it i thought i had definitely made the right decision. Upstairs with deep carpets looked very clean before vacuuming (a new house as we moved in a few weeks ago) but i was really surprised to see the amount of dust and hair the turbo tool managed to get out of the carpets after 5 minutes of use. My wife loses a considerable amt of hair but i did not see this much on the floor before. I vacuumed downstairs, sofas etc using different tools and different speeds and was amazed by the results. The motor, which a lot of people complain about, is smooth and making a good ''plane-like'' sound which is not noisy even at max speed and the turbo head produces a very pleasant and high-tech noise which never can drive me nuts. I think this is by far the best value vacuum cleaner you can find and you will never regret buying it. Take it from a guy who does a lot of research and who always tries to strike a good balance between price and quality.
Good customer service – I gave it 4 stars not for the vacuum cleaner, but for the Electrolux customer service (Linda). The vacuum cleaner has very good suction, (if you empty it regularly and clean all the filters), I use it on both carpet and tiles. The power cord is too short, (compared to the previous Electrolux Oxygen vacuum cleaner I had before this one). This Super… Read more
Cyclone ZSC6930 unit has always being overheating, even with clean filters, and after 2 years 2 months and a bit, (past the 2 years warranty of course), smoke came out oft he motor and the vacuum died. I sent an email to Linda at Electrolux customer service (after reading some reviews and seeing her name on some replies), stating what the problem was and that I was not happy about the vacuum dying on me after 2 years and a bit. She called me soon after receiving the email and sent me to a repairer (Mr Sparky, Oxley, it's a Brisbane suburb) to get a quote. As I expected, the motor was dead and had to be replaced, but after MrSparky sent the quote to Electrolux, they agreed to pay for the parts and the labour. So, I had my vacuum cleaner back with a new motor ( still overheating, but to be expected because it's the same motor in the same unit), but I am a happy customer thanks to the good customer service I got from Electrolux and the good and fast service I got from (apparently a new owner) at Mr Sparkly Oxley as well.
Very bad quality – Within the first few minutes of using this vacuum the poorly designed plastic handle popped out of the wand at least ten times, after taking it back to the store the 3 other vacuums In stock had the same problem, I don't know how these machines passed check, I think it might be a good vacuum if it didn't have this major fault.
Electrolux has lost it – Have had many Electrolux vacuum cleaners of the years in the family however these models are rubbish. Originally purchased 2: 1 to keep and 1 to gift to my son. Quickly found problems. The plastic elbow is very poorly connected to the wand, wriggles around and pops out with even the slightest pressure vacuuming. The cord isn't long enough and the… Read more
bagless system gets dust everywhere when emptying the cannister. I returned them both to the retailer for refund. Never again Electrolux.
Very good product and good price – A well designed machine. It is user friendly with good attachments. The nozzle floor head is of good quality too. The barrell is of good design, and glides perfecty to where you want to vacuum. The suction work s well. I recommend this machine to people who do not want to spend more then $500 for a a vacuum cleaner.
Overheats – Hardly any suction, for a 2100w motor. When in use the vacuum runs hot, only had this product less than 6 months. The hair goes nowhere and gets clog... when in use the vacuum smells. I would be considering in not purchasing another Electrolux again, I was told this was a great buy and product was great value. Purchased at: The Good Guys
Hi Tanya Linda from Electrolux here. We are sorry to… Read more
Design Issue With Dust Collector, Holds Dirt And Mould, Stinky – Suction is average, for a 2100w motor. Vacuum runs hot, even the power cable gets warm as the vacuum uses so much power. Our cable retract is only pulling half the cable back in. Our main issue is the dust collector box, it has a couple of areas that can't be accessed, so dust, dirt and mould accumulate. Then a nasty mouldy smell appears when the vacuum is in use.
Great vacuum all round! – I think it's a great vacuum. Strong suction, good maneuvering and great add-ons. Had an issue with cord tidy not stopping but warranty sorted easy as. I'd happily buy another. Have used it for over a year and still a happy customer here.
