I purchased a baby monitor in 2023 that had the ability to be a dual camera. That has now changed in 2025 and the company offered no compensation or any understanding or providing option for an alternate camera. Very disappointing. Won’t be using or recommending the products further.
Up to 5th unit. Steer clear of 3900 due to ongoing fault (sound never turns off) – We purchased a Vtech BM3800 in 2024. It was fantastic, small monitor that fit in your pocket, great sound activation mode etc, but unfortunately the thermostat was faulty - often showing no temperature, or getting stuck on one temp and not changing. I contacted Vtech and cannot fault their customer service, who arranged to post a replacement. They… Read more
were only able to replace with the newer BM3900. However, when that arrived, the sound activation didn't work - so now the sound NEVER turns off even when the screen goes blank. So you can hear baby breathing, rolling over, etc all night. They deemed this as faulty, so sent a third unit, but same issue! They deemed that as faulty too, so then the next step was I had to return the original monitor to the original store with a reference number for a replacement. I got a replacement 3800 from farmers, but it did the same thing!! Sound never turns off. I called Vtech again, who were apologetic and helpful, but it sounds like the same issue was happening with their wifi models too, and whilst they were able to update the hardware for the wifi models, they haven't been able to with the 3900s, so that is just the way they will be from now! I don't think many parents would knowingly opt for a monitor that was just continuously amplifying all noises in a room (every breath, sniff, movement, white noise, lullaby, etc.), rather than going into sleep mode and just turning on when baby made noise. They did however say that the new 3800 should not be like that and was actually faulty.. so I now have to take it back to farmers to exchange again for a 5th unit. Argh! Farmers said they get a lot of Vtech returned, and suggested i try another brand, however they only stock Leapfrog which have Vtech as their parent company anyway. Very sad about this as the original monitor was everything we needed, just with a faulty thermostat... Hoping for a refund this time and will have to start looking elsewhere
Vtech RM5762 Baby Monitor - Poor Design – Baby Monitors - we had a Vtech RM5762 ($329.00) with single camera for our first child 4 years ago and this unit was great and performed well across the board. Unfortunately 2 years ago when second child came along Vtech had discontinued the P&T camera so we bought a new BM7750HD with 2 cameras ($379) - but this unit is poorly designed and has… Read more
been a disappointment since it was received. Key design faults are the back stand is weak and off center from the CoG so it falls over with a slight touch (not great if toddler is around), antenna is weak and flimsy (currently sticky taped on) and LCD on/off button has been located on the side and is smaller and harder to use than previous model - v silly since this is the most used button! I would not recommend a Vtech as designs appear to be getting worse not better.
Amazing customer service line – I phoned VTech customer service and chatted with a wonderfully skilled and polite offshore team; honestly, the best customer service I’ve received in a LONG time!
Happy With Warranty & Customer Service!! A+ – I contacted them about Warranty for the Toot-Toot Smart Monster Truck. The wheels had stopped functioning and spinning on the floor and my son loves this Truck and runs around with it all over the house! They were amazzzingg! and offered a replacement very helpful and would definitely recommend them! Thank You VTECH I am very grateful and my Two Year Old Gabriel is delighted and happy again! xx
Baby Monitor RM7754HD - Terrible & Unreliable – Onto my second camera/monitor. The first started randomly after 4 weeks, the issue was the night vision would constantly click on and off for all hours unless turned off, the sound is on the camera itself and comes through the monitor. You then obviously cannot see anything on the screen. Voids the purpose of a monitor. It would also notify for… Read more
movement each minute with no movement. My sister in laws camera had the exact same issue.
My now second camera/monitor is 2 days old has been working fine, I turned on the motion notifications and now it won't connect to the camera. With a hard reset and removing the camera, the camera pair button has stopped working. I know various people with this product who are all having major issues, some being hacking that vtech could not resolve after 3 cameras.
Wouldn't buy again – We purchased a Vtech baby monitor and 2 cameras for our nursery and have nothing but issues with its connectivity (both WiFi and normal). The cameras constantly drop out, even if the monitor is nearby and in direct ine if sight of the cameras. Had the whole set replaced once (with second hand), then went to again and after 3 months. On top of… Read more
that, the quality and make isn't great either. The stand on both my parentsl units broke after ~2 months. First one I thought we must have dropped it and not realised, but the second time when it broke in exactly the same place/manner I knew it couldn't be a coincidence.
Nothing but problem – I bought a baby monitor (RM5766HD) in December and I’m on my second replacement (so third unit) now. The first two times I contacted customer service they were great to deal with and I could easily exchange my device at Baby Bunting. Third unit and I’ve now contacted them 4 times since last month as they won’t reply to any of my emails. I’m over… Read more
it. I can’t make out anything in the video monitor (so much for HD) and I’m pretty much using it for sound only.
Baby Bunting said they were good to deal with, and while that may have been the case at the start I’m disappointed that they aren’t replying to any emails now. Buying a VTech monitor has been my biggest regret.
VTEC Monitor and Camera – Product is great but when there’s products issues the warranty conditions are poor. My product was purchased as a gift from baby bunting for my baby and is less than than 12 months old. Monitor battery was not holding a charge and getting hot and camera was very blurry. Baby bunting advised they don’t replace the monitors and cameras but… Read more
provided the manufacturer consumer support details for a replacement. VTEC did respond promptly advising new monitor/camera replacements could not be guaranteed and if a refurbished monitor was available it would be sent in the mail… camera was not.
Replacement monitor received in a bad condition and it’s supposed to be refurbished unit. My original monitor is still like new!!! Scratches on the screen. Brown dirt in the monitor. The state of the replacement is disgraceful!
Very disappointed! Have written to VTEC and will await their response.
Never purchasing again – I will never be purchasing from VTech again, from my experience it is clear they do not care about their customers. We spent hundreds of dollars on a baby monitor two years ago which had the ability to add an additional camera. Baby #2 due to arrive and instead of being able to buy an additional camera (which was advised we’d be able to do at the… Read more
time), they said the product was “very old” and basically they couldn’t help us. It is clear they discontinue products regularly so you’re forced to buy brand new products down the track. While our baby monitor works and we were happy to keep using it, we have experienced instances of the camera cutting out and the temperature reading is always inaccurate. Would not recommend this brand.
Worse customer service! – I bought a baby monitor about a year ago, it stopped pairing, still under warranty but they wouldn’t repair it as the antenna came off (really easily). Bought a refurbished one from VTECH , and got sent a camera instead of the parent unit although is specifically stated on the invoice.

Exceptional Customer Service – I received the VTech Baby Toot-Toot Drivers Super Tracks as a present for my sons first birthday and as males do I put it together by looking at the picture and the box and throwing everything away once I was done. I soon realised the product must have come with screws bacause when my son would play with the toy it would fall over. This went on… Read more
for a year until I decided I should check on the net for a manual. I found one and also saw the section it said comes with 10 screws and where to screw them.
I contacted VTech customer service and they happily agreed to send me the ten screws free of charge, even though I just asked if they could give me the size so I could go out and buy it.
The screws arrived within a week of contacting VTech and they updated me along the way.
I have to say. This is the best customer sevice of any product I have ever used, ever.
I have other VTech products that I never realised. They are quality.
I will definitely recommend their products to everyone.
PS, after a year of knocking the toy over(it would fold in half) he now knocks the whole thing over.
It’s barely acceptable – This product was meant to be more reliable than owlet… it is but only barely, don’t waste you’re money and find a better brand. Constantly drops out and disconnects. What a waste.

Avoid! – We purchased a Vtech baby monitor (their top of the line one!) and 2 cameras for our nursery and have nothing but issues with its connectivity (both WiFi and normal) with cameras dropping out constantly even if the montitor is nearby adn in direct ine if sight of the cameras. Had the whole set replaced once, then went to again and after 1 1/2… Read more
months was finally sent just a single camera (accidentally) and then had to wait 2 weeks for the other camera and parent unit...which were all second hand! Just not good enough to have a baby unmonitored that long.
Bad quality and terrible customer service – Owl Monitor Product stopped working on multiple occasions - motion and sound detection stopped working so couldn’t hear baby at night. Very poor service to rectify the issue - will never buy vetch again
Terrible customer service. Terrible products – This company relies on you to purchase the incorrect item and similarly named products codes to do so 5500 5510 5510 owl.. and they do this across their whole monitor range.. every single seller and store has multiple returns occur due to this shamble of a system just another company that controls the Chinese produced baby market..
Terrible quality of video and battery, very disappointed for the price! – Last year I bought the Vtech Video & Audio Monitor BM5500-Owl(currently on sale at Baby Bunting for $289)and I've started using it couple of months ago when we moved my son to his own room, I found the camera quality pretty bad straight away, very blurry, but as long as I could see he was safe and hear him crying I didn't mind too much about it.… Read more
After approx 6 weeks of using it ( not everyday) the monitor's battery started to last less and less time, until now it doesn't even get to the end of his sleeping pattern! I turn it on around 9.30/10pm and it's off by 5.30am, with the last hour making the "low battery" noise every 10 mins! I would've never expected such a poor quality , especially as it's not a cheap product! Now I will have to buy a different one as I need to have an eye on my son and definitely will choose a different brand!
Dual Baby Monitors Permanently Muted – I bought a VTech Baby Monitor and later bought a second camera for a second child. When viewing both children, the cameras are both permanently muted. No point having it if you can’t hear your children!
Vtech BM4500 Owl is FANTASTIC – This baby monitor is amazing. I love every feature. The awesome and cool owl design is a fabulous peice of technology, the owl head moves from side to side aswell as up and down. Microphone, music, and image display is not to fault. Highly recommend.
Excellent – I have a few Vtech products and find them to be of a high quality. They have a wide range of products for a wide age range. Their prodcucts are colourful and entertaining. To find products that entertain your children as well as teach them and make it so they learn in the process can be difficult at times but this company does it. Good quality, educational
Excellent – I recently brought my son a VTech V Smile Learning System for christmas and it has been a huge hit in our household. Great for children who see the older kids playing theiir Wiis or Playstations and want something of their own. They hoysticks are easy for toddlers to use and it has nice large bright coloured buttons. The games do have lower… Read more
graphics then most but the are simple to understang for younger children. They have a very large number of games available to purchase. Great range of well made toys for all different age groups. Can be expensive but well worth the investment.
Excellent – I have a few vtech toys and i love them as much as my baby. I like the fact that they are not just telling you what things are (eg. colour, animals etc) but also try to make you do some activities (for example: can you find the number four, walk like a bear etc). So i think these toys will last for quite a while, at early age babies will enjoy the… Read more
