Removes all the food a toothbrush and floss leave behind – Removes food particles that remain around teeth even after the most intensive brushing and flossing. Pressure adjustment for those with sensitive gums. Large tank, multiple nozzles including tongue cleaners and retractable hose all pack away onto the base, taking up little bench space. Certain mouth wash liquids can be added to the water to aid rinsing, although some additives may eventually block the Waterpik's plumbing. Even warm water could be added for those with sensitive teeth.

Pump is noisy, so it may be annoying if someone is sleeping nearby. Sometimes the pump runs, but it appears to be just pumping air. Manual offered no help, but searching Waterpik's website revealed the answer - leave the nozzle hanging lower than the pump for a while and then try again. Nozzles can be difficult to swap if left in place for a long period - calcium build-up.

In areas of 'hard' tap water it will need frequent descaling risk blockage. The water tank also shows calcium build-up inside over time. Best to use demineralised water if this task is to be avoided. Waterpik was purchased on-line saving half the cost of a store-bought model. Excellent powerful cleaning action. Bench top convenience with a large water reservoir. Noisy and occasional failure to pump. Use 'soft' water or risk calcium blockage. Expensive in stores.

Re the 'air lock' problem. Despite Waterpik's website suggesting the 'nozzle lower than the tank' solution, which can take ages, I accidentally discovered that pressing the domed rubber stop valve at the bottom of the tank, pumps just enough water into the pump to re-establish the flow. Beats me why the instructions failed to mention this!

Excellent – I wish more people knew about this product. So reliable and great for maintaining perfect dental health. So good my mum has been buying as presents for close family and friends :) This review is actually for the WP-100 but as it is not listed, I have reviewed for this product as it is by the same company and is the exact same concept. This is an amazing product and I am astounded more people do not know about it. What a terrific way to ensure perfect dental hygiene between your teeth without the annoyance of dental floss.

Easy to use, many settings for different types of mouths and various heads for different uses. Apart from the cost, nothing I can tell. It IS expensive but worth it for your long term dental health.

Excellent – I have used this product for a while now and found it to be fantastic. I have permanent metal retainers behind my teeth and these tend to catch small particles of food which I have no idea are there until I use the waterpik, it's amazing to see how much gunk is stuck in both my teeth and retainers. The use of this product has significantly reduced the occurrence of cavities in my teeth and I definately recommend it. Great cleaning action, fantastic for braces or behind teeth retainer. Nothing, it's the best thing I have bought.
