I know this is discontinued but this review is for anyone considering buying Westinghouse. I bought this machine in 2005 and it's still going strong, so over 20 faultless years. A single bloke so not worked terribly hard but was used to wash firefighting gear for many years, so lots of carbon and vegetable matter.

Great small machine – Had my LT608S for many years. No problems - washes, rinses and has lots of cycle options. Has just now developed a significant leak post wash that continues slowly but steadily for about 10 minutes. Any suggestions as to source and fix would be most welcome?? Rob, Brighton E. Victoria.

Great washing machine for washing & damaging clothes! – this very poorly engineered diabolical washing machine will wash & occasionally damage clothes (caused by agitator rubbing against clothes). its as loud as a freight train, sometimes will cut off during spin dry cycle if load is not evenly distributed. can stop working due to electronic problems. a regretful buy. will wash ok most of the time can damages clothes, loud, electronic problems

Short lived – Versatile settings - but not intuitive, but if you loose the manual you'll have no idea how to reset your favorites, or change presets. I've had mine for 4 years now - the week it went out of warranty it stopped spinning reliably and we have ever since had to readjust the clothes 3 loads out of 5 so the machine can spin properly - otherwise it rattles and bangs so loudly you can hear it thump around two houses away. I would replace it with another brand, but I can't justify dumping the machine so soon after what I paid for it.

Not a good choice - ability to taior the wash settings loud, can't self balance the spin load, spin cycle malfunctioned the week it went out of warranty

Just as a follow on - the wildly out-of-centre spinning bowl wore through the four steel rods that kept it in suspension within the chassis and six weeks after writing my review (the Saturday before Christmas) the bowl simply dropped out of the machine and on to the ground below. The eccentric spinning action had chaffed through the suspension rods. End of machine.

The machine was replaced the following week when the store re-opened.

A trooper! – I bought this machine about 6 years ago. I've since had 3 children which means a lot of washing and it's still going strong! I do find you really have to separate the washing into the right sorts though, get so much as a tea towel in with the clothes and everything gets covered in fluff! It has had a small leak when used too much ever since I got it but it's never caused any problems apart from a small wet patch on the floor! The settings are all set out clearly and very easy to use. Easy to use, quiet.
