Lasted 14 years – Bottom of the range $750 dish washer purchased in 2006 and only just died now in 2020. The roller holders snapped every so often, but I used cable ties for 10 yrs to hold the rollers on. Died due to a build up of soap, which seems to have damaged a sensor as it will fill ok, and empty ok, but won't start a rinse/wash cyce after a water fill. Show details
Neither here nor there – Yes i've replaced the top draw rollers (fairly cheap on ebay maybe 20$ for a set). Who knows how long they will last but been about 6 months now no porblems. My main issue is i walk into the kitchen and the floorboards are covered in water. No idea why it leaks but just comes out of the bottom of the door. Latch ive had dramas with doesnt seem to… Read more
close properly had to adjust it several times and now it doesnt seem to hold the door in all the way. Also will stop mid cylce due to the door popping it out the slightest bit. I give it a hard push on the door and the latch grabs again and it continues cycle. Other then all that the wash seems to be pretty good. Generally dont need to rewash anything by hand. Dispenser door for the tablet is too small for the finish tablets aswell and sometimes they get jammed and it doesnt drop in during wash. So ive been crushing them down a bit so they fall out of the door when the dispenser opens. Otherwise just get different tablets.
Great Dishwasher – I can't understand the negative reviews. I have two in my kitchen as we have large family and use every day. Maybe because others treat them as garbage disposals; we rinse plates before putting in dishwasher and only use good quality Finish liquid with Rinse Aid. We have had these for 10+ years and the only problem we have had is with the rack… Read more
rollers which have been replaced 3 times, but not a big deal. Would absolutely give a 9.9 out of 10 rating. Margaret

Brilliant – We have used many dishwashers and we love this one. Ours is used every day, washes well, dries well, no smelly inside and easy to keep clean filter. Exceptional layout. There are so many negative reviews which I was surprised to read. Only thing we do not like is a design fault of the upper basket. The rollers keep breaking. self cleaning Only thing we do not like is a design fault of the upper basket. The rollers keep breaking.
Good – I can't understand why people are having so many problems with this dishwasher. I had a repair guy come out to fix a leaking pipe that had been eaten by a rat. He didn't even charge me for it. I always use the eco wash with a finish tablet and have no problems with dirty dishes. The one thing I will say is, though, you have to pack the dishes… Read more
as suggested in the manual otherwise they can interfere with the rotating arms and the detergent won't come out properly. Once you figure out the best positions for your dishes, happy dishwashing is what you will get! Ps I've had mine for 4years now and am looking at getting another one for my new house. Looks nice, easy to use, flexibility within the drawers in that you can put down or raise the dish bars. Quiet and washes dishes well. nothing tha I can really think of. Probably should have better protection under the machine to keep out vermin (whole other story...)
Excellent – I have had my machine for about 4 years now, gets used at least 3 time per week, has never given a moments trouble. ost of my appliances are Westinghouse, I am very happy with every one of them. Cleans very well, never given trouble Can't work out the child lock. Show 2 replies

Not a very good dishwasher at all – It cleans ok but not great. Can't get the degreaser to work, because the water was not hot enough. Also, ongoing problem with the door closing. Will not buy this brand, next time. The dishwasher is quite noisy. However, can do a whole dishes in one go. Regular cleaning of filters is required, probably because water is not hot enough Show details
Rubbish from the start – Bought this machine new and always hated it. Same issues as other reviewers, rollers constantly breaking so we replaced with cable ties, doesn't wash well or dry well unless on heavy cycle, tablet sometimes doesn't dissolve, or not at all if you have dinner plates in the bottom rack as the tablet compartment gets obstructed. In the market for a… Read more
new machine now as the door won't close (new fault). The new machine won't be Electrolux, Westinghouse, Kelvinator as I believe they are all the same company.
Oh and by all means, if you are having trouble, call CUSTOMER SERVICE, I did, they suggested I PAY for a service person to come out. Yes OK my machine is a few years old now but you would think that since it's such a lemon that they might have sent me a goodwill service given I have to take time off work to wait for the service man etc....
Terrible machine, not fit for purpose, never again.
Grrrrrr – Leaks through side where inlet .which has dripped onto hose that goes from big to small and weakened rubber causing it to perish and split...loved the flooding. Same probs with rollers yay cable ties. Same prob with drawer not opening and not dissolving tabs. Just throw them in on bottom tray to dissolve. Pain in the .... Filter catcher became… Read more
super brittle and collapsed on itself. So $40 for filter housing and ?$ for this hose that i can't find and then it will still leak threw side anyway. Will be purchasing a new dishwasher i think.

Terrible! – Like everyone else...top drawer rollers keep breaking and are expensive to replace. We've now got ours held on with cable ties, did a much better job for a fraction of the cost. Tablets don't dissolve, soap dispenser won''t open if plates are placed in front of it, nothing dries, often have to put it through the wash cycle twice and then… Read more
handwash... and after putting up with this for several years, it now no longer heats the water (main controller board malfunctioning). Cost us $100 for a serviceman to tell us it is not worth repairing. Good one Westinghouse...good way to trash your brand...
Don't waist your money – Had this machine for 5 years and in that time had the circuit board replaced once, two sets of rollers replaced due to there flimsy nature. The handle looks like it is 50 years old, ugly and worn out due to one coat of silver paint The dishes never washed properley even when stacked properley, using good detergent and a regular clean. High Maintenance – We have had this dishwasher for 10 years, it has cost a lot to maintain over the years with breakdowns, recently costing $270 to replace the control board. Probably replaced over 10 wheels to the top basket over that time. Could never get the liquid dispenser to work for Rinse Aid. Worked much better when we changed from powder to power balls. Time to move on, going to give LG a go.
Not so clean dishes and constant repairs – Where do I start?? Yes the same as all the people before me, first the top rack rollers - been through 3 packets of 4 (1 lot in warranty), replaced the pump and pump with housing, replaced hoses and now the board seems to be the trouble. Just went and purchased an AEG today so hopefully will have clean dishes for the first time in ages. I… Read more
have been using 2 dishwasher tablets for every wash now for years as I can't rely on the dispenser (90% of the time it doesn't open properly) and I only use the heavy load in an attempt to get the dishes clean. I have had to put things back through in a second wash to get them clean very regularly.
Unfortunately I don't think I would ever buy another Westinghouse!

Dishwasher...I don't think so! – Horrible to stack and trays come lose all the time. After four years we finally get to buy a new dishwasher as this one isn't drying the dishes properly (or not at all). It is a really noisy machine and there was no difference in "wash" cycles. There is suppose to be a child lock on the machine but my five year old managed to open the machine a… Read more

Same same – Reading all the other reviews of this dishwasher, I can only say we have had all the same problems. The clips on the top basket come lose and or break regularly and expensive to replace - $50 a set. Wash is hit or miss. Detergent tablets routinely get stuck. Had to replace the circuit board for $200. Inlet hose started leaking and needed… Read more
replacing. Now the thermostat appears to be gone. Service technician did a routine clean of filters etc in case that was the problem, which is wasn't and warned the next step is to replace the thermostat with motor at $176 for parts plus the cost of service call and labour. So total cost of this operation, including initial service call would be around $350 or more. Also have been warned that due to age other problems are likely soon... I too bought this unit after reading Choice report which said it was one of the best and most reliable. Am not even going to read Choice's latest report. Relying now on user experience, especially through Productreview. Getting rid of it. Most things.
Worst dishwasher ever made – we have had this machine from new for almost 5 years. three years ago it stopped drying nor would it provide hot water during the wash cycle (or any cycle). the supposed stainless steel door started to rust. the top rack has gone through multiple sets of rollers (they usually last less than a month before breaking again). the soap dispenser… Read more
only works about one time in eight. even when it worked to spec from new it still didnt wash our dishes properly (and we always hand wash before loading the machine). for three years we have been washing by hand and drying by hand. we only used it as a sanitizer up until the hot water stopped working (eg failed heating element). we could have repaired it under warranty but it was very clear the same issues would have reoccurred over and over due to basic design faults so wasnt worth our time and effort. we will soon be throwing it out and buying something better but definitely not another Westinghouse product. its an extremely disappointing machine - thanks Westinghouse for wasting our time and money - you failed in every aspect from a consumer's point of view. the grief from owning this has been ten fold.
heating element failed after two years (no hot wash or dry). rust on the stainless door after two years. upper rack rollers keep breaking over and over. soap dispenser consistently wont work.
Dishwasher won't dry! – Awful machine. Has always had one problem or another. Latest is that it won't dry dishes, so end up having to do by hand at end of every load. Occasionally the water does heat up and will therefore dry, but 80% of the time, the water is cold. Westinghouse/Electrolux, I would enjoy a response from you on this one. Seems like I'm not the first with this issue, and machine is only five years old. It is silver Doesn't work
Got the same problem with mine (it was part of the chattels in the house we purchased.
Calling this a dishwasher is a misnomer – Inherited this with our new house. The only thing this machine is good at is smelling like your grandmother's foot. Interior is terribly designed so that stacking is a pain in the butt and when running sounds like you have trapped a Tasmanian Devil. All that would be forgivable if it actually washed dishes. Which it doesn't. Incapable of cleaning… Read more
even a light load well. Has been checked and is 'working'. Avoid. Being replaced with a Bosch next week. It filled a hole under the kitchen bench that would have otherwise been a death trap for small children. Is the anti-dishwasher.
Don't waste your time – I purchased this machine because Choice rated it. Within the warranty period the top tray rollers exploded. Westinghouse replaced them but suggested that the coffee mugs that I placed in this tray were too heavy. The rollers are still fine after three years but I have had to modify their attachment so the don't slip out of the basket; their… Read more
retention system is laughable and probably contributes to the problem. Just outside the warranty period the machine stopped drying my dishes. Luckily (for me) I was not the first one with this problem and a (Westinghouse victims) forum suggested that poor quality control leading to dry soldered joints in the printed circuit board in the control panel was the likely cause. I was able to repair these joints rather than spend hundreds of dollars on a new one. Only a few weeks ago the machine started leaking water all over the kitchen and I found that the heater to spray bar hose was worn through by a vent hose was that was too close and not adequately secured. I initially tried repairing the hose with aircraft fuel tank sealant which sticks to anything, exept this hose, so I had to buy a new one. I found a genuine one online and was able to fit it myself. This dishwasher is wholly inadequate for its intended purpose. It often leaves dishes and cups dirty regardless of how often you clean the filter, regularly fails to release the tablet or powder and it sounds like a train in your kitchen. This machine is not for the faint hearted and is definately not for you if you have to rely on someone else to fix it. I would have paid for this machine many times over if I couldn't repair it myself. I have never had an appliance perform so badly and use up so much of my time and money. Buy something else.
Everything. Please see above

could not be more useless – Proud to say we didn't buy this POS, we inherited it with a new house. I can make this review quite concise, as the 'dishwasher' doesn't pass the first test: it doesn't wash dishes. By that I don't mean that it is 'faulty' or that it doesn't perform to some particular standard. I mean that it works exactly as designed, and that the way it is… Read more
designed does not wash dishes. I know how to get the best even from the crappiest dishwashers - pack carefully, leave space between every dish, use good powder and rinse everything so there's no visible food remnants. Doesn't make a difference. Oh, and normal sized plates don't fit in there either. This would be a disadvantage if it worked, but I guess really it's neutral as nothing would be gained by being able to fit the plates in there anyway. From reading other reviews, it may even be a positive if it removes the risk of the plates being smashed when the top shelf breaks. That hasn't happened to me yet, but it hardly seems worth the risk - we don't own the Queen's china, but our plates are sure as hell worth more than than the 'dishwasher'. Buy it if you want to make your kids rewash every sad, wet and slightly warm dish when they come out encrusted with undissolved dishwashing powder, and so prepare them for the working world where they'll spend most of their time redoing jobs that weren't done properly by the person who was supposed to do them. Otherwise, save your money and achieve the same effect by putting your dishes in a basket and dumping a bucket of tepid bathwater over them. potentially useful as a damp aluminium cupboard for hiding things does not wash dishes

Waste of money - utter garbage – Bought this dishwasher when I built a new home, had the choice of a Bosch model or this one for $30 less. Decided to go with this as it would match my cook top, oven and range-hood. Worst mistake I ever made! All the other appliances have been faultless, but this dishwasher has been complete rubbish. I have used it for 5.5 years, a single person… Read more
using it only once or twice a week, and i have been through 4 sets of rollers for the upper baskets.
I particularly love when the rollers fail during a wash cycle and the basket drops and jams the upper basket (and its contents) on top of the lower basket and the spray arm fails to work. This fault has chipped and broken countless plates and glasses. Its also handy when you go to pull the tray out and have it rotates sideways on the one or two remaining rollers and its contents ends up on the floor. On top of this, the unit NEVER dries things properly. I have worked out the best way to make sure it gets things dry is to open it immediately after it finishes then leave it til the next day to unload. I bought a dishwasher so i had the convenience of not having to wash dishes, i assumed that drying them would be an included feature.
Few other fun features to note:
- It sounds like a freight train, i have so many friends who cant even tell if there dishwasher is running cos its so quiet, mine is so loud you have to turn up the TV when its running
- Eco cycle is pointless, i assume it saves water and energy by not actually using any.
- Heavy wash seems no different to normal wash, things still don't get cleaned.
- Placing heavily soiled items in lower racks (oven dishes, large pots) seems to result in their contents being misted through the entire dishwasher - even after running a pre-rinse before washing. Which means re-washing all the items by hand and scrubbing the baked on food residue off the glasses and crockery.
- The lower drawer only accepts dinner plates on the outermost tines on the RHS, as they hit the cutlery basket once you load any more, resulting in it sitting skewed sideways and things not getting cleaned.
- Hard to load with pots and pans due to configuration of cutlery basket - only 1 or 2 medium saucepans max.
- Control panel seems to fill up with condensation during drying cycle - it stills works, but how it hasn't failed yet i don't know
- Sometimes, say one in every 10-15 washes, it doesn't seem to actually wash. Just runs all the way through and presents me with dirty, wet, slightly warm dishes
Anyway, I'm done now. Never, will I ever, buy another Westinghouse product.
This is another example of you get what you pay for...And for what its worth, the $30 i saved, yeah - I spent that on the first set of replacement rollers 5 years ago ..... It 'washes' my dishes so i don't have to. Poor construction, doesn't wash properly, doesn't dry properly, I'm leaving it behind when I move house.
Troublesome machine – We have had this dishwasher for 5 years have had to replace countless rollers on the top basket - won't eject the tablet sometimes, and now it won't heat or dry dishes. They are wet and still dirty at the end of the cycle. Will never buy one again! The troubleshooting guide didn't help either Looks good but that's all noisy, rollers break, problems with drying and washing, tablet ejection problems

Terrible – so pleased to read everyone else's comments as i thought it was just hating this! it seems we are all experiencing the same problems. i will never buy another westinghouse product again. this was actually Choice Magazine's number one choice about 6 years ago when we bought it but it's been no end of problems. nothing good about it leaks all over… Read more
the floor everynight!, hard to clean, doesnt wash things properly, detergent (even Finish tablets) doesnt dispense properly or dissolve. no end of problems. can't change cycle or stop it. top runners break ALL the time. i've bought replacements about 5 times.
terrible design and quality – AT least this version didn't have the drying fan, so doesn't catch on fire. That is the only plus with this dishwasher. It has now stopped working for the 3rd time in 6 years, plus 3 replacements of the runner clips.… Read more
It is very difficult to stack so that it cleans all the load well. You can not stack it to capacity because the dishes will come out dirty. Westinghouse and Choice you have let me down quiet operation stop working for the 3rd time in 6 years
Never touch the brand again! Warning to others – This piece of junk has broken down four times in as many years. Just had it looked at again for $240, replaced a part because it wasnt draining and now two days later it wont heat up, therefore there is undissolved powder and the dishes still unclean and sopping wet at the end of the cycle. What a waste of money.
I wish I had read these reviews before I wasted money on useless repairs - ! miss my Miele! – I have hated this dishwasher from the day we moved in - the Miele dishwasher we left behind in our old house was still stacking, washing & drying perfectly after over 15 years of faultless service. This Westinghouse dishwasher is hopeless - difficult to stack, falls off the runners, noisy, and chips the plates & glasses. We have now just… Read more
wasted 2 months and $285 trying to get it to wash & dry on any cycle and despite 2 new control boards & a new thermostat, the water never heats up beyond 'tepid'. Not surprisingly - everything is grungy, cold & wet at the end of even 'a heavy cycle'.
Westinghouse/Electrolux refuse to allow me to speak with a service person unless I pay for anther service call & say that once a model is discontinued, the model cannot be repaired once parts are unavailable!
This machine is only 5 years old!
Hard to stack, top rack always falling off runners, unrepairable - water will not heat to wash or dry load
Terrible – Terrible dishwasher. Just leaves food and stains on the dishes all the time now. I'm trying to get techs to come out as i have a 5-year warranty but we've been waiting two weeks so far. Am just about to leave complaint on their website. Definitely don't but it! The look - stainless steel. Unfortunately, I bought it on this alone. Too noisy.… Read more
Awkward spacing - can't load two lots of dinner plates in front and behind. But most of all, leaves rubbish all over the plates. Only started doing this about six months ago. We've had it for three years.
Terrible – I hate this dishwasher. It is cumberson and unfriendly to use. We only ever use the heavy wash cycle as the others are a waste of time. The most annoying thing is that I bought it on the basis of Choice's recommendation. It was cheap and recommended by Choice as a good buy. The filter is easy to remove and clean. Very unstable. Terrible – A major problem we have with this washer is the wheels on the upper tray break off frequently. In the first year, still in warranty, we rang up westinghouse, and the thoroughly disinterested support person would only refer us on to a parts supply place in the outer suburbs of Melbourne. Apparently the warranty doesn't cover the wheels that support… Read more
the upper tray. About 6-8 wheels break each year, and they cost about $30 for a bag of 4. Ridiculous.
Also, glasses in the corners are often left with stuff in them, and sometimes powder is left partially undisolved in the dispenser. Nothing good about this model. Tray wheels frequently break, noisy, often doesn't clean effectively, bad service/support
Terrible – Have had it for 4 years and has not washed properly since day 1. Runner wheels on the top broke very quickly, the tiny holes in the rotating arms get blocked constantly, leaks all the time and have tried every type of powder/tablets on the market as it always leaves it in the little drawer. Terrible – We inherited the machine when we bought this house recently. It doesn't wash properly and doesn't dry at all. The heavy cycle takes FOREVER to do. Better to do it by hand. I am going to see if I can trade it in on something better, shame I can't get a Dishlex now; had one years ago and it was great. Doesn't wash properly, doesn't dry.
OK – Ask me again in 5 years time. Right now, I'm happy. Does what one expects a dishwasher to do ie. wash dishes. Good hot wash with detergent dispensed early in cycle. Programme flexibility offers good range of options. The best cutlery basket I have used, deep, 'flippy' lids & well sized 'weave' to keep things in the basket. Bottom drawer very… Read more
flexible with good capacity. Top drawer a bit average, plumbing intrudes into load area. Hose length, both supply & drain more generous than European units. Needs to be screwed to bench to prevent tipping over with both loaded drawers open. Noisy fill, quiet enough wash & pumpout cycles. Display of programme options & progress a bit primitive, could be better defined. Typical Aussie design ie. flat, square sheet metal, no bottom panel on cabinet. Very susceptible to panel flex with impact on door alignment. Easily fixed with levelling feet.
Terrible – Would never buy a westinghouse dishwasher again, although we do have a westinghouse washing machine and dryer and both are trouble free. Was ok for the first 12 months or so, has been a very disapointing purchase Everything, was purchased due to a choice review, and have regretted ever since. Has had issues with leaking, does not always disolve washing powder. Cleaning and drying performace is not the best
Had this washer 3 years - rollers broke and now will not heat water - absolute rubbish machine
OK – I have had my dishwasher off for two of its six years life span due to broken rollers on the top shelf. 2) Need to place door ajar even when cycle is complete, just to continue evapouration of moisture on dishes.
3) Weak rollers on upper shelf.
4) Need to really clean dishes down before use.
Terrible – Poor design and inferior parts. Unhelpful service agents, Westinghouse hot line almost useless for after sales advise. Reputed brand, s/s finish, right price, Made in Australia. Have Westinghouse fridge. Had Westinghouse Gas cooktop in previous house. Started leaking water from the front door straight after warranty. The canberra agent representative offered very poor advise, said it was the bottom door seal. After replacing the seal it was still leaking. Then I realised it was the Bottom spray arm that was made of plastic (stuck together) that had come off after only 2 years of use. This resulted in spraying water horizontally. Water was being sprayed past the door seal.
Does not wash pots very well.
It now appears the heater element is not working !!
