case it IS NOT 'you get what you pay for'.. because if it was.. it should be amazing.. its so loud when it spins that you need to leave the house if you don't want a headache... the towels come out like sand paper and nothing you do can stop this. It broke once when it was about 2 months old and took months to fix.. I've hated it since then.... 8 years later and still hate it. Washing machine – I bought my washing machine 23 years ago, still look like brand new. still working very well. never damage any clothe. washing machine if it was working. I couldn't get the clothes out of it, so it must be ok. Is this making sense to anyone because it make no sense to me.

Not a great washing machine – This washing machine is good to look at but that is its best feature. This washing machine regularly gets lost in its cycle & may run all night without doing a spin cycle. We are having to constantly clean out with vinegar to remove smells. The quick wash doesn't wash at all ,more of a rinse than a wash. The machine its self is very quite and does a good spin dry.  Show details

Some trouble – I have had this machine for about 4 years. Something happened on the Big items wash about a year ago and it has not worked 100% since I had 3 different repair teams out and they never really fixed it. It gets down to the last minute and goes for another 15!!! Brilliant washing machine – Love this washing machine, had it for 4 years now without one hiccup. My only wish is that I bought it sooner. Its quiet, it has so many cycles to choose from even the quick cycle 30 mins does an excellent job on less soiled items. Love the huge capacity to wash my doonas.

nicely! Be prepared to get lots of help to install it if you're in the bush, its 102 kg! It looks beautiful and is so easy to use. No problems or breakdowns. What can I say to my friends, but BUY ONE!

work like horse – One of the best washing machine if not the best ever. 3 years on so far so good. hope will go for more as i really love this machine. we do use it also to big carpet, blanket and rugs without any issue. very efficient in water usage. i recommend it to every one

Brilliant machine! – This machine is incredible - has worked non stop since it was bought, washing for 9 people everyday, it does up to 6 loads a day, seven days a week. Not a peep of trouble, except had to get seal around door replaced under warranty. Would definitely recommend!

Big drum and great clean – Friends and family bring their blankets and rugs over to wash in my machine because it is so big. I like that I can change all the bed linen in the house in one load. I generally use daily wash; it gets everything clean and we use rainwater and it is very water efficient.

5-times-a-week-used machine so have given it away to someone who claims they can repair it and get a bit more use out of 'her'.

Had this machine for 3 years now. Took out the 'extra 2 years warranty. Love the great choice of wash cycle settings and it takes a good load size. Only broken down once at 11 months (just stopped working, no power!) & the 'electronic' component was replaced without fuss. (Must be a weakness because techie arrived with it!). Can highly recommend this machine. I think the secret to a 'trouble-free' machine is not to overload it! My daughter-in-law has used it on occasion and tends to overfill the drum, so the wash cycle has 'stalled' mid-way through the daily wash cycle! Treat it with respect and it will serve you well. Very Poor After Sales Service – Bought the washer in April 13 and by early July it stopped working. It's almost two weeks out of service and no idea of when it will be repaired. they are unable to connect me to anyone as they 'don't speak with the customers' - so I'm left in limbo with no washing machine and having to drive washing to friends house each day. Very frustrating and regretting the purchase. I'll never buy a Whirlpool again. When it worked it was great. Just stopped working due to 'electrical error' - needs new electrical component. Really bad after sales service and lack of customer care.

technician out straight away and he new everything back to front, fixed it straight away. Turns out it just hadn't been installed properly and apparently this is a regular problem with the company we bought it from. The machine has to be levelled properly and bolted to the the under drawer unit (which is an optional extra which we got). I also just washed our blankets, a huge woollen blanket on wool wash. I wondered how it would turn out (shrunk or twisted up or still soaking wet). It was beautifully clean, I pulled it out all soft and fluffy, not twisted up, only just damp so it had drained properly and it dried quickly. Highly recommend.

No Customer Care – Washed very well for the first 6 weeks - quiet and efficient. The machine completely ceased working after this - 3 weeks later it is eventually fixed. Three weeks to the day after this, it stops working again. 10 days on, we are still waitning for a replacement part. Whirlpool service can only say 'sorry' ....not much help with 4 children to wash for! Quiet and effiecient when working Unreliable and bad service

work, it had problems with the board. this machine was replaced, after 5 days, with dirty, damp washing in the machine. during all this time, not once did whirlpool contact me to offer any apology. so, i contacted them through their customer care email. didn't hear back from them after that email. i sent another email asking them to at least acknowledge they received the first email. they emailed me, thanked me for taking the time to write to them but that i would have to ring a customer service number. what customer service?

Surely customer service would have been to contact me whilst the 4 machines were being moved in and out of my house and newly laid floors, laundry doors going on and off, and machines going on and coming off the pedestal, not to mention the clothes i couldn't get out of the machine. the only reason i kept on going back for this machine was because of the shop it was purchased from. their fantastic customer service, after purchase care and sincere interest gave me the assurance i needed to know i would be looked after if anything went wrong. Called service people again, been two days waiting for them, can't use machine, call centre staff are overseas and useless, made complaints via email, and have had no reply. Europe with their main factory in Germany.There is only the 2 of us now but my wife wanted this 10kg for the really big items we have ;King size dunas/blankets etc.My wife has commented that these big items have never washed so clean & soft.We had the 7.5 kg before (top) and i fail to see how the drum size of most of the 7 to 8 kg front loaders wash really big items effectively.The machine is very quite;one point to consider it is a very large unit;so make sure your laundry can accommodate the size.The delivery guy said he thought it was a commercial machine like a laundromat & we had a family of 10! Absolutely Brilliant & Quiet – By far the quietest and best washing machine we have ever owned. Great looking. Heavy Duty. Looks and feels more like a commercial grade product. at 95 degrees and they are crisp white. The other feature which I use often is the program to commence washing within 24 hours. Set and forget. Unlike my old front loader, when I wash shirts or jeans in this machine, the sleeves get seriously knotted with other shirts in the wash and causes it to crease more than usual.

only a few months the machine stopped working and is displaying a f11 error message which i found out means a electrical fault this is the last thing you think will happen when you purchase a $1364 washer which is made in germany all i can say is i really hope whirlpool fix it fast i will update on there after sales service . The size is great it has heaps of settings for all types of clothes and a 30min quick wash it was great . It cost a lot and this is my second machine in 3 months and now its broken also very heavy at 106 kg poor quality.

Whirlpool [name removed] stated that the repairman should have used a crowbar to open the door and that clothes shouldn't have been left in the washer. (the clothes are still in the machine)

Whirlpool also indicated that damages to clothes from being left in the machine so long would not be readily compensated for.

As with any product, sometimes things, despite quality engineering, go wrong. It's not great, but this is when you expect quality after sales service to kick in quickly and to qualify the overall quality of what you have purchased. Great when it works. Bad warranty service. Whirlpool doesn't appear to care about your time when scheduling repairs. Instead of a timely repair the serviceman told me where the nearest laundromat is. We are at day 10 of not having a washing machine since reporting the breakdown.

Huge machine with great features – This machine is huge and does a great job with lots of different settings from gentle wool cycle through to ultra grubby work clothes. in, turn the dial and press 1 button instead of pressing 4! You can create a favourite on every cycle choice too. Simply put I love it and I couldn't recommend a better machine if I tried. Favourites setting, the door is set high so you don't have to break your back getting clothes in and out because of it's height it doesn't fit under the laundry bench also because it's so big a full load won't fit in the dryer!

understand, and I love the time counter that tells you how long a load has left before it's finished. It does a daily load in 60 mins, but also has a 30-minute short wash that works incredibly well too. I have had no trouble adjusting to a front-loader after years of having a top-loader, and it has an add-a-garment function for those odd socks you always find just after you've started a load.

Very happy with this machine. Reliable, sturdy, very large capacity, quiet. Wasn't cheap, but the quality seems excellent and it's a very large machine!
