Good washer and customer support – Had some issue with the control board after 4 yrs of heavy use. Whirpool was kind enough to send me a replacement control board outside warranty free of charge - I replaced it myself as it is quite easy. Washing machine is still working fine to this day. Good value for money and cleans well.  Show details

breaks down every month for a year and before 2 years it died – Okay look, don't bother buying whirlpool products at all. Customer service was a nightmare. Bought this and on the first month it just stopped working. It takes 2 weeks to get service people to look at it. They fix it but will break down the next month. Obviously they sold us a faulty product and at 18 months, it totally stopped working. I've… Read more

messaged whirlpool and they just can't be bothered coz its no longer under warranty. Save yourself from stress and stay away from this company!

Can't fault the service – The control board on our machine failed a couple of weeks ago. Saw these reviews so sent email to Whirlpool via their customer inquiry page expressing how much we liked the machine but how disappointed we were that it had failed after just 3 years. Asked whether a new control board could be provided or even a replacement machine (we purchased from… Read more

a country SA retailer now no longer operating). That was a Friday night. By the following Monday morning had a phone call from customer service asking if a new model front loader would be okay as control board no longer available. The new machine was delivered two days ago (7 business days after phone call). So I guess 1 star for durability on the old machine but have to give it 4 stars for the job the machine did while it was going. As for Whirlpool customer service, it's gotta be 5 stars. Very happy with the new WFE1480DW machine that has been working overtime since yesterday to get through a couple of weeks of laundry.

Great machine – Bought from The Good Guys in Dec 2011. The only issue I've had is a new door latch purchased on eBay and installed by myself. After reading these reviews I'm worried now! Eek. But it's nearly 2.5 years and gets a good work out each couple of days. I only use the daily wash 40 degree cycle though. My down side would be that the cotton washes are 2 hrs long. Cheap, reliable Nothing so far Show 3 replies

Machine has rusted out – My machine has rusted out all at the bottom and the side of the machine. It is just over 5 years old. I purchased a warranty which gave me 4 years in total and not sure if rust would be covered anyway. Consumer protection has advised that machines should last 7-10 years on the model I purchased. Will never buy this brand again  Show details

machine just stopped working – Came home from work and needed to do my weeks washing. Lo and behold, machine as dead as a doornail. No function whatsoever, no power at all. After reading other reviews, looks like a common problem of the control panel of other users. Don't really know what to do? Get it repaired or chuck it , but I know whirlpool has lost this customer  Show details

Whiring pile of crap – This peice of crap rusted and leaked by a year old replaced and the new one rusted and leaked and has now failed and oh fun the washer is no longer covered under warranty. As a struggling family of three to have my washing machine and dryer fail is very stressful . Whirlpool deserves a class action lawsuit for there products  Show details

Rubbish – I have just experienced the same as everyone else. My machine has failed to work. No displays lit at all. Just nothing. I presume its the PCB. I've been waiting for it to die as it never worked well on certain cycles. Certain cycles dont spin dry properly and its not due to being overloaded with clothes or the level of the floor. Water often… Read more

spills onto the floor during a cycle. Its quite badly rusting. I had it serviced in the past under warranty for replacement of a new sensor. I've had my clothes locked inside the machine and required a service call. I actually had my sons school uniforms inside and he couldnt go to school the next day. Just my luck too the extended warranty ran out 1 month ago. I could keep going on and on....... So never again will I purchase Whirlpool.

WFS1073DD Whirling Piece of Junk – YEP, like almost every other post about the Whirlpool WFS1073DD, the PCB/Main Board has stopped functioning. Mine came to a stop mid cycle no power, no lights and a load full of water to manually drain. A quick search on the WFS1073DD model number found me this site and good information on replacing the PCB/Main Board yourself, ordered one from… Read more

eBay and was replaced in 30 minutes. I didn't bother with Whirlpool customer support/care, saved myself a tantrum and kept the blood pressure normal.

A few lessons learnt. Always going to do detailed research and not buy another lemon. NEVER purchasing Whirlpool again, this product is a true meaning of CRAP disposable consumerism whitegoods, lasted just over three years.

JUNK WHIRLPOOL WFS1073DD - AVOID – 4 years old exactly - machine blew up. Stopped working in the middle of washing. Circuit board F@#@#&d . . . Since then - can't be turned on - No idea why. The clothes were very hot when we took them out of the machine. Water left inside. Complete piece of junk - paid $700 - Headed to the TIP - will never buy another WHIRLPOOL ever again. What a joke.

Whirling around the pool of issues-WHIRLPOOL – I bought this machine four years ago. It just stopped working one day, no power on the display screen. Called Whirlpool and explained to them what was the problem. The customer care assumed it was an issue with the control panel and they will send me a new one. When I asked how they can be so sure the problem is only control panel and not… Read more

something else, lady advised if it does not get fixed with a new control panel, call the technician again. "Are you serious?? Why do not you send technician first and get it checked and not make assumptions. " Anyway, received the new control panel and replaced it and machine is still not working. Now there is another issue apparently. Such a poor service.

Discussed the issue with colleagues and found out that one of them had the same model and same issue with the washer. There seems to be a standard problem with this washer.

I suspect there is a manufacturing defect in this model. All the machines should have been recalled and upgraded.

POOR SERVICE. I will NEVER buy this brand again.

Great until the power control board died – It worked like a dream, efficiently for 5 years then today mid-cycle it stopped. I had thought it was odd the display didn't have 'End' and that's because it had not finished, so water gushed out the door! I had to drain the machine, manually. Not fun. I tested the powerpoint, all fine. After talking on the phone with a repair service it… Read more

appears the power control board is dead. To repair this would cost several hundred dollars (about $500). This repair service does not recommend Whirlpool for this reason. To repair this unit is to throw good money after bad. It's a damn shame because when it worked it was good.

After reading other reviews here I am chasing this up with Whirlpool, hoping for a refund or repair. I managed to find my $700 receipt so worth looking into. Will let you know how I go. At first Whirlpool wanted to palm me off onto a repair centre, but I said no, I've already looked into that and I'm not happy, wouldn't buy anoher Whirlpool. Then they took it a little more seriously.

[edit] they offered me a new Whirlpool machine - at a discounted price (I can't remember now this was months ago, $400+ ) or $273 for the old one. I chose the money. I didn't want this company to have any more of my money! They arranged collection and put the money in my account once they had the machine.

We are now using my housemate's Bosch and THAT is a great machine.

It stopped working in the middle of washing – 4 years after I bought it, it stopped working in the middle of washing. Since then it can't be turned on again. No idea what has happened. Piece of crap whirlpool should have recalled this machine – Same problem as everyone else with the PCB burning out. I would ordinarily repair it but the washer is 5 years old and the whole front of the machine has rusted out. Whirlpool WFS1073DD - Power – Reported my Mums to WP today, no power. I'm expecting WP to replace (as they asked for her invoice as proof of purchase). RUBBISH!!! – We have had nothing but problems. We had to have a technician come out 3 times. It was also replaced once after it just died. Now the replacement machine died 2 months out of warranty. Never again will we purchase a single product manufactured by this company. We have been basically ripped off!!!

4 years old and needs replacing – I am so disappointed this morning when my 3 year old washing machine lost power, no lights, water still in the washing machine, half way though a load of washing. So naturally I google how to fix it but instead find 100's of disappointed customers with the same issue!! Whirlpool, how have you not fixed this issue?? How has this issue affected MULTIPLE models of your washing machines?? Disgraceful!!

Another dead WFS1073DD – Yep another WFS1073DD bites the dust. Same problem as every one else, put a load on and it stopped mid way through the wash, no power dead as. Checked the power point with another appliance and it worked. Mind you we brought it from the good guys mid 2011 and up to now its been a good machine. Just ordered an new power board on ebay $160 and hopping its been modified as the part # has changed..

We purchased one of these washing machines in November 2011 the bowl came off and they replaced it w – I have detailed all the problems we had with this machine above, so unfair to treat customers this way. This product is garbage, the company have no customer service skills and are very uncooperative and unwilling to help without a costs to the customer when it's not the customers fault, disgraceful

exercise your rights - FULL REFUND RECEIVED – Same problem as everybody else: ie dead control board. This machine was purchased from The Good Guys in Feb 2012 so it is 22 months out of warranty. Whirlpool on our behalf. I also mentioned that if we didn't hear from them we would exercise our rights under the Australian Consumer Law and make a formal complaint. I received a call from Good Guys this morning advising that if we return the dud machine they will happily refund the full purchase price. We are more than happy with that outcome. Rating - machine 0 stars for the faulty board. The Good Guys 10/10.

Main control board failure – Control board failed 1 week out of warranty, Blown component was an integrated circuit which on reading the component manufacturers specifications is not suitable for the application. The IC switches the low voltage control current and should have been suitable for the current,No more Whirlpool. Had trouble with fridges as well.

Avoid At All Costs – This is a replacement machine for one we bought and had two new motors installed. Was given this machine with limited warranty. Would have expected a full warranty. This one the timer doesn't want to work properly. Never buy another whirlpool again. Always leaking from the bottom and the door.

No wonder it is discontinued! – Owned this washing mach just over a year. It washed really well until the RO20 blew after 1 month out of warranty! Cost to fix - slightly less than a comparable new machine! Removed the motherboard and lo! Date of manufacture was five years earlier. Feeling ripped off! Looking at all the reviews it is little wonder this model has been discontinued.

Whirlpool never ever again – There is nothing new i can say that wasn't said before. Just under 3 years i had it and then last night it just died half way through a wash cycle. Terrible product – What do you know.. Just after warranty expired; the machine decide to break. After researching on this product, it's a common problem for it. The PCB board is the fault. Whirlpool, you need to fix this problem and provide us as a consumer some service without a fee. It's a common problem, like a car manufacturer, it would've being recalled. This problem should be a recall and fix by Whirlpool where we aren't charge $300 (part) plus labour cost.

problems from the start! – I have owned this washing machine for 2 and a half years. Just after purchasing it the door wouldn't open and a technician came out to fix it. 3 months ago it decided to just stop working, absolutely dead. literally the worst – Powerboard dead in under 4 years of use by one person who mainly hand washes. Do not even consider buying this thing. It hasn't been used more than 100 times. Repairman quoted $615 to fix it so just going to buy a new machine. I'll never buy a whirlpool again though.

Whirlpool wfs1073dd is a dreadful product due to faulty components – You don't need me to tell you, just look at all the reviews here! 2.5 years after purchase, the same thing happened to me that seems to happen to everybody.
