Good product, very reliable – For the price, this washing machine has been a great purchase. All cycles wash well and it's easy to use. Have had for 2 years plus doing at least 5 loads per week with no problems experienced to date. I would recommend this machine even though this model has been discontinued. Show details
Dead – Totally agree with what everyone else is saying. Please do yourself a favour and never buy this washing machine. Mine lasted about 4 years and I'm glad that I paid extra to good guys for the extra warranty. I had two to three service visits in between where they changed one thing after the other and now if I call anyone its going to cost me money… Read more
to even have a look at it. Considering seeing all these reviews, I doubt if its worth a shot. No more whirlpool for me any more.
Died after approx. 4.5 years – Washing machine worked fine at first, except each wash took longer than was specified. After moving interstate (with transport bolts installed for stability), machine leaked moderately from detergent drawer. This seemed to settle down to a slight leak. Finally (around 2 years after the move, with no further problems), the machine has died,… Read more
with no display, no sound. Unlike some other posts, at least I wasn't in the middle of a wash.
Unfortunately, the seller went out of business, so a few appliances I purchased from them are affected.
Another one dead after 3 years – Leaked on and off constantly. Screws around door latch rusted. Died mid cycle. Absolute load of rubbish. It's called 6th Sense because it can sense when the warranty is up so it can die after the date has passed.
Just 3 years – Just 3 years old and now doesn't work should have stayed with my too loader, noisy and smelly rubbish machine
3 years and just cuts out – Bought this machine and have had a few minor problems such as leaks and thought it seemed alot louder than when I first purchased it. Was just using it today and it just seemed to cut out during a wash with the water left in and a blank screen. Its unfair that it seems the machine lasts no more than 3 years reading everyone's comments. Feel cheated by Whirlpool. Why wasn't this recalled?
Rubbish – Ours lasted 3 years and completely died - the main board just gave up. Would have cost almost as much to replace the board as to go out and buy a new one. If you want a disposable washing machine, don't pay this much for it. This one only just out-lasted the standard warranty. only just out-lasted its warranty period
Never purchase whirlpool again – I had bought a front loader machine 2 years ago and mould has developed there is a disgusting smell on my clothes on top of that I had purchased extended warranty and they are unable to cover this type of issue pathetic! I do not recommend this machine to anyone mouldy, bad warranty service
Faulty design leads to poor performance – Similar to previous reviews, my WFS1275CD died last weekend at 2 1/2 years old. It stopped mid cycle with clothes still wet and a blank indicator panel. We tried switching on and off, pressing reset button but indicator panel remained blank. I had no service calls from Whirlpool during the 2 year warranty period though I experienced leaking soap… Read more
dispenser, noisy operation and wet washing at end of cycle intermittently. When the top was removed for inspection we observed a small rusty patch under the soap dispenser. An electrician friend tested the wiring and advised that it was live up to the circuit board which was likely to be where the fault lay.
On Monday morning I rang a fridge and washing repair man I have used for a previous machine with satisfaction. When I mentioned the model, he said it was not worth replacing the circuit board as the design was faulty and I'd have ongoing problems. He said if I searched the internet I'd find product reviews for this model. He recommended I should contact Whirlpool although the machine was out of warranty as they'd be aware that there were design faults with this model. He also suggested I ring ACCC as there were consumer protection laws to cover products that were not of acceptable quality. This was great advice!
I read the product reviews online and then rang Whirlpool. Although I had registered my Whirlpool warranty online at time of purchase, the operator stated that I had no 'profile' as I hadn't initiated a service call within the warranty period. In order to create a 'profile' I had to give her all my contact details and the product details again and I'd have to pay for a service report by their authorised repairer before Whirlpool could consider taking any action as she had only my word, and no evidence, that the machine was not operating properly. She gave me one phone number for their authorised service repairer in Brisbane to arrange a service report.
I rang the Whirlpool repairman on the number provided. When I told him the model number and the problem he said he was surprised that I had any problem with this model, that he'd attended to many repairs on another Whirlpool front loading model, that he could provide a service report for $121 and that the circuit board, if it was faulty, would cost over $300 to replace. I mentioned the product reviews that I had now read and that it was perhaps not worth repairing the machine as I'd experienced the same problems as other users and now knew there was rust and water leaks that would probably lead to ongoing problems. His response was that people lie in product reviews and that he'd serviced very few of this model machine across Brisbane.
I now contacted ACCC after perusing their website and was told that consumer laws offer protection for goods and services purchased from 1 Jan 2011 if they don't perform as expected. The seller (not the manufacturer) guarantees that the goods or services will be of acceptable quality and fit for the particular purpose. ACCC advised that I should contact the seller/ retailer of the product rather than the manufacturer and if I was not satisfied with their response to contact Office of Fair Trading as they could mediate on my behalf.
I then rang JB Hi-Fi on Monday afternoon and provided details from the April 2011 invoice and explained my complaint. After one phone transfer, they confirmed my product purchase, confirmed my mobile contact details and said that a manager would contact me to discuss action. On Tuesday morning, a manager called and asked me to briefly explain the problem and replied that they would replace the washing machine. She said there were two options. Either they would source a similar 7.5 kg front loading machine (not Whirlpool) and have it delivered to me at no cost. I would be responsible for removing the old machine. Or option two, they would email me immediately a gift certificate for the purchase price including delivery of the old machine and I could use the gift certificate at any JB Hi-Fi store for any purchase to that amount. She even told me where the closest store was that had the largest range of appliances and their opening hours that week. I accepted option two and said that I was very happy with their prompt response and with the efficiency and courtesy with which they had handled my complaint. I now knew it was the seller's legal obligation to remedy the situation but I was heartened to receive good and fair service after dealing with Whirlpool and their authorised service provider.
The gift certificate was emailed promptly and I bought an LG 7.5 kg front loader the next day from their Mt Gravatt store and had it delivered and installed on Friday. I've done several loads including sheets, towels, mattress protector and all seem to be coming out well washed and spun. The new machine is much quieter than the Whirlpool, easier to fill, no visible leaks and the direct drive motor has a 10 year warranty. So far, I'm very happy with it.
Luckily, we had a council kerbside collection commencing today, Monday. The Whirlpool was left on the footpath on Friday and was picked up within hours by a truck collecting metal for scrap. That's all it was good for after 2 1/2 years of poor service - scrap metal. It looked okay Poor design, leaks, noisy operation
3 years old – This machine is the biggest piece of rubbish, never again will I buy a Whirlpool product, It will now go to the verge side collection.... be warned don't buy whirlpool it is the biggest piece of rubbish that has ever been made, leaked fromday one, this machine should of been recalled It was good once Not lasting more than 3 years, What a joke
Worst product I have ever purchased – The machine completely died after 2 years and 9 months ,noisy from day one and leaked water causing machine to rust ,service rep told us to turn the tap to a trickle as the pump could not handle water pressure .Apparently it was not made for australian market. Will never buy whirlpool again
Pedro, again see my post today. If you purchased your machine after 1 Jan 2011 you are covered by… Read more

Rubbish – Washed ok for the first 5 months, then wouldn't spin. Repairman said the board behind the controls was fried. Was told 4 months for that to come into the country so they replaced it with a newer model. As this was a replacement from our first machine that had the bearing disintergrate in we signed a waiver to say we wouldn't come back to them… Read more
again with problems. Now after 5 months the newer version of this one has stopped working. 4 machines in 4 years. Whirlpool is rubbish with poor service to boot. Washed ok Lasted 5 months before refusing to spin or unlock the door.

Know better, choose better.
Front Load of Rubbish – Machine is just on 2years old three fixes and has gone again. Bearing replaced, Circuit board replaced, Drum replaced now who knows, probably another circuit board. Whirlpool warranty people dont want to know, repair guy just shakes his head saying back again eh!. Do not buy a Whirlpool they are rubbish.......... not enough time or energy to list the problems with this machine
See my post today. If you purchased this machine after 1 Jan 2011 there is a legal remedy.
Terrible – Just out of warranty, The machine has died completely. Looking at previous posts, it can only be the power board shorting out. Started leaking from the soap dispenser. As with all other users, Noisy spin, and noisy water inlet, I had to close the laundry door when the machine was in use. Very disappointing machine, Whirlpool customer support is shocking, very rude. It washed clothes Noisy, Leaks, now broken.
I have an update for the above review: It turns out that my machine had 5 days left on the… Read more (+1 reply)
Very disappointed – I purchased this machine just under three years' ago. It has now developed a computer fault and will not complete a full cycle. (And it is properly surge protected). It also leaks badly. It takes an hour and ten minutes to deal with a 50 minute wash. It hates heavy items as well. I had a small Whirlpool fridge that burnt out within three years as… Read more
well. I previously had a Samsung washer which ran like a dream for nearly six years before being sold to allow for a move interstate. Whirlpool used to be a recognised brand, with a reputation for lasting products. This is no longer the case. Choose another brand.
2nd Whirlpool in a year- Not happy – my first Whirlpool WSF1073DD was replaced by Whirlpool after a company in the Central Highlands QLD who repairs, took 2 months to complete a warranty job on the door. after arguing with that company about the delivery of my new machine ,he finally delivered and i had to put in a formal complaint with Whirlpool. My new machine WFS1275CD has now… Read more
just stopped working!! a load put in yesterday, and when i went to get it out there was no power. the power point works as i can plug other appliances in. Funny that its just out of warranty!! looks like another few months with no washing machine. i should of stuck with my old one i had for many years. when it was working... To many problems with the brand
Bad Machine – Machine has leaked from day one and has stopped working after 15 months. It has always washed my clothes fine except jeans and towels are still wet. Stay clear of Whirlpool especially for front-loaders. I thought this was a good brand because I passed up electrolux and bosch washers which were a similar price. Don't bother with whirlpool if you want a reliable machine Washed Clothes Failed after 15 months
Rubbish machine – Nice one Whirlpool what a lemon. If you are stuck with one of these then good luck. Ours leaked detergent since day 1 but we put up with it. It has now broken Down with a heater issue (F08 fault) after 6 months of operational use. Unfortunately we did not install this machine right away and as such it is now in the parts only period of the… Read more
warranty. I have heard the heater is Worth $200 approximately so when included in the cost of a repairman we are looking at $350 -$400 by the time it gets fixed. When you look at the other reviews the machine is obviously [censored word removed] and has been discontinued by Whirlpool, no product recall though, obviously they care not for their customers.
End result, I will buy another machine, not a Whirlpool and will make it my new hobby to tell anyone in the market for a new machine how rubbish Whirlpool are - my way of saying thanks to them : ) It washed clothes Leaks, heater component failure after 6 months use
not worth the money – bought a wfs1275cd brand new and only after 14 month the machine was stuffed, electronic board failure. repair cost not worth the money, was probably made in china anyway with cheap parts to last only 12month just to get out of the warranty. bought a different brand, runs and runs and runs, very happy now
Never buy a Whirlpool product again! – Whirlpool call centre staff are incredibly rude & made what was already an annoying situation worse by accusing me of purchasing a second hand product when I had clearly had the receipts purchased new from Appliances Online. Service call booking made 9am on the monday morning, someone to come out on the tueday to fix. Got a call Tuesday morning… Read more
told part needs to be ordered so won't be fixed today. Asked how do you know what's wrong with it & was told "Have worked in business for 5 years & problem is common". If this a common problem surely that is a design flaw & the product should be recalled?! As with the other reviews water & foam comes out of the detergent draw & the noise of the machine is excessive. Other than looking nice, this machine or any other Whirlpool product I've owned really isn't worth the problems & the time I've had to take off work waiting for service calls. Looks nice Didn't meet expectations at all
Horrible – Machine leaks from the detergent dispenser. Power board burns put regularly. Under warranty exprct a minimum of 2 weeks from reporting the problem to seeing a serviceman. In Queensland there are 2 companies taht repair, they reckon they cannot keep up with demand and parts are slow to arrive. Spin slows down considerably after about 3 months… Read more
and the noise increases. Initially we ran it with the laundry door open and couldn't hear it, now with the door shut it's annoying. According to Whirlpool that's normal for a 10 month old machine as it's exceeded it's peak usage period (just say it has built in obsolesence and be done with it).
Buy anything but a Whirlpool or Fisher and Paykel but that's another expensive story! Looks nice Usage/slow servicing/reliability/pretty well everything if you want to wash clothes
Second Whirlpool in less than two years... not happy – I bought a Whirlpool front loader as I believed Whirlpool were a reliable, good quality brand. The first machine lasted less than a year when it decided to get a lot louder and all of a sudden dump oil into my washing... Not happy. We finally got a second Whirlpool to replace the first (at least Whirlpool replaced it and didn't try to fix it. I… Read more
had been told by a reputable repairer that Whirlpool's customer service was not good, however to their credit it was not too bad). The second machine is the WFS1275CD which superseded the one we bought previously. It looked great and I loved all the wash time, temperature and spin speed options, however at times it did not spin sufficiently even at high spin speeds and I would need to spin again. Now, after having this machine for less than a year it has become somewhat noisier than it was originally and is now not spinning water out of clothes at all on any spin speed or cycle. The clothes come out as if I've just pulled them out of a bucket of water. Considering my Husband and I work shift work and have two young children, it is a great inconvenience and disappointment to have yet another washing machine break down.
I will not buy whirlpool again. It looks good and has great options. These whirlpool machines keep breaking down.
Works great for about 12 months then th eleaks will kill the power board. IF you have bought… Read more (+2 replies)
Washing machine is competitvely priced but a compromise – Washing machine is competitvely priced. However some cycles require an additional spin cycle after the program cycle has ended - I doubt it achieves the 1200rpm as stated. The detergent dispenser drawer overflows if the supplied divider is used, resulting in detergent foaming down the front of the machine and onto the floor. The door seal collects… Read more
water which does not drain away at end of cycle - a towel is needed to mop this up before removing clothes otherwise clothes get wet when removing them. Chimes at end of cycle go on for too long and are annoying and cannot be adjusted. You know when this machine has finished as the spin is so loud. Not really necessary and should be shorter or able to be turned off. I have used a Miele washing machine recently and it had none of these problems, the clothes came out a lot dryer for its 200rpm faster spin (1400rpm) than the whirlpool. You get what you pay for. Washing machine is competitvely priced and has a high spin speed Detergent dispenser drawer overflows, door seal collects water
