poor quality, poor service ! – Purchased on 22/1/2010 failed on 8/02/2010, service tech came out and said it was out of gas and recommended that it was replaced with a new one. It took almost three weeks to receive a new fridge, my emails were ignored and it was only after threatening to get Consumer Affairs involved that somehing was done. Shoddy quality, Terrible after sales service
Total Rubbish – Very noisy, Compressor vibrates when it comes on, Freezer fan very noisy and relay makes a loud clicking noise. Also a knocking/popping noise comes from the freezer when cooling. Whirlpool says this is all considered normal operating noises. Absolute total rubbish. Also the service personnel are extremely rude, saying 'what do expect for that price'
Worst fridge ever – After about 14 months fridge broke down, had it fixed under warranty (only pro was that it only had 12 month warranty, but they had extended the warranty on that model.. probably due to the massive amount of complaints/broken down fridges).. 2 years after that freezer now does not work properly. It is loud as all hell and buzzes throughout the day and night. Will not buy Whirlpool again. keeps breaking down, noisey
I had the same issue, stopped working around Dec 2012 too and it was exactly right after 2 years warranty period. I start to think that the manufacture programmed it to stop working after 2 years. What a piece of junk, I won't buy Whirlpool stuffs again.
small but value for money – This is really a bit small for us (2 adults but we cook at home all the time)- it looked roomier in the store but when you start to put things in it - it doesn't hold much. We have had problems with the plastic cracking on the vege compartment and the quick cool bin at the top - it is very flimsy. It keeps its temperature well, has been incredibly reliable and appears to be relatively energy efficient even for only 3 stars. The little ice-cube maker in the freezer is handy but takes up a lot of space. Overall a good value for money fridge for one or two people if you don't cook much at home. Good value for money, reliable fridge flimsy materials that break easily
