Verdict
Woolworths receives mixed feedback, with shoppers praising the convenience of online delivery and the helpful attitude of individual in-store staff members. However, frequent frustrations are reported regarding online order fulfillment errors, inconsistent fresh produce quality, and lengthy wait times at checkout. Customer service channels, particularly automated bots, also draw criticism for handling disputes and refunds poorly.
Since I moved into my town Safeways changed to Woolworths. And had quite a good range , they had there butcher who cut & packed, priced meat. 10 years later , all the products I use to buy are gone , prices are constantly changed. There Meat is Terrible & Huge Cost. As Are other products , shampoo went from $3 to $10 in a cpl weeks . There… Read more
"Specials" are a Con , when you get to checkout the price doesn't match . And I'm sick to death of waiting for Price Check. There Fresh Groceries ?? Are Tiny or Rotten inside . Lettuce are about the size of a melon . IGA has Huge Lettuce for 50 cents more . And Woolies Constantly Moving Items Is Absolute Stupidity For Disabled People . I Now Rarely purchase anything unless its price reduced. Totally Unaffordable
Well done Woolies. Seems you no longer stock 1lt plain full cream milk, not your own brand or any other. Coles, Aldi and IGA still do, so guess who will be getting my shopping in future. ($473.49 so far this week)
Since 2022 your prices have been rising it costs me $300 to $350 to purchase the same things now that I was buying in 2021 and then it was at least $100 to $150 less. You should be ashamed of yourself. I go through hundreds a week and have to even top up during the week and it's just me and 2 kids. How do u even sleep at night

Wagyu beef sausages 6 pack VERY disappointed in the quality of the product! I would be very ashamed and embarrassed to sell such an oily product. More than 60g of orange coloured oil type of liquid was poured out of the pan, used a fork to pierce the skin layer as bubbles of more orange oil liquid was still present in the sausages, had to use so… Read more
many paper towels, they were fully drenched. Why sell such a poor quality sausages? What is the orange liquid? Purchase from Katoomba store but presuming these are sold throughout all Woolworths stores.
Very disappointed that this quality was selected and sent, how is this even still on the shelf and placed in our order, this goes beyond just a refund.
They cut their seeded bread loaves down in size. Pitiful could not even hold a cheese slice. No price change
Very dosy. I will never order the stuffs again where I have to pay things per item. I orders sweet potato which was per ea and I orders cauliflower which was per ea and both were sent the smallest ones and this has happen many times so thought will complain about it .
Doncaster 3128. I have switched to this store because they have cashiers and not self serve registers like the local Coles store. Also, they don’t use Palantir for surveillance like Coles do. Show details
Found a bit of metal in my pasta salad. I almost ate it..
I had the Karaage chicken rice bowl in the hot food section and it wasnt good at all. There was barely any chicken in it and filled with rice. Wouldn't recommend getting it at all for $12 Show details

Errors with WoW scanner of fruit & veg at self serve kiosks (Vic Park WA). I have noticed when I place some of my fruit and veg onto auto checkout kiosks to scale the weight - it’s defaulting to an organic veg ‘auto selection’ on the auto kiosks, and hence charging me more. Appreciate I select the vegetable type and it only displays a single item.… Read more
It happened to me last Thursday and organic avocados are coming up as a single items on the screen. I didnt notice it was the organic fruit & veg last Thursday until after the purchase. I approached customer service after and gained a refund. Then was charged the correct price.
A potential trap for customers and yielding WoW more revenue. Be very careful of WoW default AI prediction method by their checkout kiosks!

Woolworths discontinued a superior 425 g mackerel range and made it difficult to provide feedback Woolworths has discontinued its own-brand 425 g Mackerel in Oil and Mackerel in Tomato Sauce, products I previously bought and regarded as excellent value. The budget 425 g mackerel products I can now find at Woolworths are Deep Cove products. Based… Read more
on the nutritional information provided, I regard these as a significant downgrade. The former Woolworths Mackerel in Oil declares 2,600 mg of omega-3 per 100 g drained, while the Deep Cove Mackerel in Tomato Sauce declares 586 mg per 100 g. The Deep Cove ingredients panel also states that the product contains 60% mackerel. I have attached photographs of both products and their nutritional information.
There is another difference that matters to me as a consumer: the former Woolworths products were packed in Thailand, whereas the Deep Cove products now being offered are labelled Product of China. I personally preferred the former product and its country of manufacture.
What makes the decision particularly difficult to understand is that a major competitor continues to offer a similarly priced 425 g mackerel product with considerably better declared omega-3 levels than the Deep Cove product Woolworths now offers.
This is not an isolated frustration for me. I increasingly find products I previously bought from Woolworths disappearing or being replaced by alternatives I regard as inferior. Every decision like this removes another reason for me to choose Woolworths over its competitors.
I attempted to provide this feedback directly to Woolworths, but even its online feedback process ultimately directed me back to its automated Olive assistant rather than providing an obvious way to submit detailed product-ranging feedback to a person. That experience only added to my frustration.
I would like Woolworths to explain why its 425 g own-brand mackerel range was discontinued, why the replacement appears nutritionally inferior based on the declared nutritional information, and whether Woolworths intends to bring back its own product or introduce an equivalent of at least the same nutritional quality.
Until then, this is another product I will simply buy elsewhere.
send to Woolworths: I recently purchased a Woolworths Free Range Whole Chicken and was very disappointed with the quality. When I opened the chicken, I found that the intestines and several internal organs had been left inside the cavity. A whole chicken sold in a supermarket should be properly cleaned and eviscerated before packaging, and this… Read more
was not what I expected.
This raises concerns about quality control and food hygiene. I have always bought their free range whole chicken and this has never happened before. I’ve attached photos to show the condition it was in when opened.
I was amazed when I saw these for this price, I now know why. The first shave I had the top strip suddenly peeled off & the razor turned a hard right & took a chunk outta my head so badly I had to go to the G.P & have it butterfly clipped. The price tells me Woolies obviously knew they were faulty which is outrageous
Recently purchased from Woolworths 2 cans of Dole Crushed Pineapple. When I arrived home one can leaked and when I pulled the ring pull and opened it was all mouldy. Now I defy anyone to try and write a report on the website, it is definitely not user friendly (that is probably how they design it). I had to drive back to store to get a refund… Read more
(which was not a problem), but my review is about the actual reporting process. I told the staff that they should return all the product as the cans did not look good.

Today i bought two bags of frozen strowberies and I had to throw them out because it was not only rotten but also dirty and smeling of dangerous chemicals. How can Woolworths sell such a poor quality product at inflated price when people struggle to put food on the tanle? Pleass don't confuse us pigs.

Online delivery is a very convenient service provided by Woolworths. However if you stuff up a delivery monumentally you would think there would be a process to fix it instead of a refund. After all the food was ordered because it's required and in… Read more
this case because the customer has a virus they do not want to spread or risk getting another virus. I have been using Woolworths for my major shopping for at least 15 years. This is the end of that. I do not recommend Woolworths online shopping to anyone.
Follow-up · This was a year ago, since then I have started using woolworths again as all online delivery is the same. Substitution or refund and an email is sent to notify you. If you miss the email tuff luck. Best thing to do is go to the supermarket and pick what you want, use delivery knowing you won't always get what you want or decent quality fresh vegetables and fruits, it depends on whats left on the shelf. That's just the way it is.

THE 3 LITRE MILK IN ONE PAPER BAG. I have spoken to the Distribution Manager in Northern Victoria and he stated ALL STAFF putting orders together are TRAINED TO PUT ONE of the 3 LITRE MILK in A BAG because the bag can't take it. I can confirm that because on two occasions the bag has broken, the milk split and made a mess on my front verandah. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME OF ASKING .. STOP PUTTING TWO OF THE 3 LITRE MILK IN ONE PAPER BAG. PLEASE COMMON-SENSE HAS TO PREVAIL!
Follow-up · They don't listen. They're still putting two 3 litre milk in one bag. It constantly tears the bag and we then have to try picking up the mess.We were stunned that they had even put a bag of clumping clay kitty litter in a paper bag!!!!! The stupidity of these people making up our orders astounds us. There's obviously nothing we can say or do to… Read more
Follow-up · Not much has changed since my review on 21 August 2025. They are still putting 2 x 3 litre milk in one paper bag and another milk spill happened just inside the front. I've waved the white flag. Now? I have to pay someone to take me shopping. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HOME DELIVERY SERVICE !!!!

The delivery process is great and the delivery guys are always most polite and helpful. I can thoroughly recommend Woolworths online shopping.
Follow-up · Unfortunately my recent orders have not enabled me to give a positive review. Also the items have been badly packed eg biscuits packed with laundry items and heavy items… Read more

Woolworths Willoughby has been excellent with direct to boot. I have used it for several months this year due to a hip injury and found the service to be very good. Sure sometimes it's not perfect but if you tell in the app you're on the way and in a certain bay, the friendly staff come to you with the goods. Costs nothing if it's not immediate. I… Read more
believe service may differ between different locations though. I found Willoughby is much better than Woolworths Gordon. The Willoughby staff are always courteous and helpful.
Negative reviews
Why are Woolworths so anti senior citizens. They removed their express lanes only to replace them with just one belt service. I just hope when the manager is 75 years old he gets treated the disgusting way I get treated. Once again, no staff so I left my loaded trolley again. This happened to me a few months ago. I get there as early as I can,… Read more
9.00 am to make sure I get out quickly due to my disability but never any luck. I think the manager should hang his/her head in shame. Always treat customers like gold.
Christmas products already on shelves. Shame on you!! So greedy and money grabbing. Where is the Christmas anticipation GONE!! Also. Choosing to have the store floors cleaned when customers are actually shopping is really bad form. Also cannot pay your staff for one additional hour in the mornings so that the Deli is fully stocked before the store opens. With billions a year in profits it is discussing the things you are doing.
Every couple of orders, there are few items unavailable mostly chicken and high protein bread and get confirmed only last minute, which means i have to go to the store to get them, what is the point in online order then and paying extra.

5 Stars for the delivery from Woolworths. 5 stars fir the packaging and labelling of all parts - even the metal sheeting had plastic film to protect from scratching. 2 stars for the instructions that you have to download. what it is and so fidly with the smalle a t screws and bolts. Some parts are practically impossible to do ( eg attaching hinges) as they could have been done at earlier stages. You need immense patience and fingers like a praying mantice to finish this. Some parts are left over and are not anywhere in the pictures!! Looks good on completion snd works well but the construction manual is truly terrible.

The lids attach to the actual bin lids and work so well. Very attractive finished and we have had many comments on how tidy it looks.
