 AI reviews summary

Recent reviews for Woolworths indicate a widespread decline in customer satisfaction, primarily driven by consistent failures in the online delivery ecosystem and a perceived drop in food quality. While individual staff members are occasionally praised for going above and beyond, the overarching sentiment is one of frustration regarding price increases, unreliable logistics, and poor produce standards.

Pros
Exceptional Individual Staff: Multiple reviewers highlight specific team members (e.g., Casey, Eryn, Sangi, Habib) who provide friendly, helpful, and professional service that exceeds expectations.
Convenient Digital Tools: The online shopping interface and "saved list" features are praised by some for saving time and simplifying the weekly shop.
Efficient Click and Collect: When functioning correctly, the direct-to-boot and pick-up services are noted for their ease of use and helpfulness of the loading staff.
Specific Product Successes: Certain private-label items, such as cinnamon shortbread, canned tomato soup, and specific chilled coffee brands, receive high marks for quality and value.
Cons
Unreliable Online Delivery: Recurring reports of missing items, late arrivals (sometimes by several hours), and groceries being left at incorrect addresses or in unsafe locations (e.g., in the sun or near bins).
Poor Produce Quality: Significant complaints regarding "fresh" food arriving mouldy, bruised, or near its expiry date, with meat products specifically cited for having excessive water/fat content or smelling rancid.
Ineffective Customer Support: Users frequently report long wait times on phone lines and find the "Olive" AI chatbot incapable of resolving complex issues, leading to frustration when seeking refunds.
Pricing and "Price Gouging": Strong dissatisfaction with rapid price increases on staple goods, "misleading" shelf labels, and a new refund policy that often issues store credit instead of cash/card reversals.
Verdict

Woolworths remains a viable option for in-store shopping where customers can hand-select produce and interact with generally well-regarded floor staff. However, the online delivery service is currently high-risk due to systemic logistical errors and poor quality control. Consumers are advised to check receipts and expiry dates immediately upon purchase to navigate frequent pricing and stock discrepancies.

I purchased the new woolies ready meal of Beef rendang for $15. The sauce in this meal was lovely, but the meat was terrible. It said it would feed 2 people but after discarding the inedible pieces of meat it was not enough for 1. Will not buy again Show details

Very unhelpful unbusy staff unfortunately. We had 4xitems & were turned away from the express lane. We advised the operator that we had $notes & coins. She had no customers waiting & refused to process our items due to having $notes & coins. The unfortunate noticeable thing is that she was not busy & wanted to stand at the checkout & do nothing.… Read more

The operator gets paid to provide basic customer service & process our items. We were in the range (under 10 items), apparently $notes & coins are still acceptable tender. I suppose where else can you get employment to stand around & do nothing....Woolworths Ormeau

Sending all the corporate jobs overseas to Asia would make you not want to shop at Woolworths. Something has definitely been going down, a lot of the stock has not been fresh for a few weeks, I’ve had to throw products out that already had mould on them and have had to go to Coles as their produce is fresher and they have better specials all round.

Doncaster 3128. I have switched to this store because they have cashiers and not self serve registers like the local Coles store. Also, they don’t use Palantir for surveillance like Coles do. Show details

My experience has been rather odd as it seems to happen often, that is, price gauging, I generally have bought this to the Store Manager's attention and receive an honouring price. However this time I was shocked as the price of the product was not honoured. The manager said that it was 'human error' I don't think so the advertised special price… Read more

was $6.50 Please see the picture on the left of Attached The products was reduced $6.50, I was charged the price of the product on the right of the Attached picture $17.50! & was given a reduction of $6.50 that's not right! The manager should have honoured the price advertised. This is not a fair outcome and woolworths continuously gets away with it

Purchase WW garlic bread slices for $3.30 in Feb 2026. Purchased again today for $6.50. Insane to think the price has doubled in 4 months. Complete rip off. How can bread double in price in 4 months.

Generally I'm very happy with Woolies and their approach, products and transparency around pricing. Online ordering is easy and efficient, and they already replace unavailable products with superior products. My only minor issue is, when slipping in store, is the change for old style shipping baskets to a newer, more cumbersome one. See pics… Read more

Dear Woolworths Customer Service, I want to raise a serious concern regarding a product purchased from your store. I purchased a tube of Red Seal toothpaste, which my daughter has been using for approximately three months. On 1 May, we discovered a significant amount of black, dirt-like contamination at the bottom end of the tube. This was… Read more

extremely concerning and unpleasant.

Given that this is a product used for oral hygiene, I am worried about the potential health impact on my daughter after prolonged use. I would like to understand how this contamination could have occurred and whether there are any health risks we should be aware of.

I request that this matter be investigated urgently.

I look forward to your prompt response.

The staff and service at Macarthur square store are good; however, there seems to be an ongoing issue with not having enough counters open. It feels like a subtle push toward self-service. I also take issue with being charged for paper bags to carry groceries that are largely packaged in plastic. Bags should be provided at no cost, and major retailers should be doing more to promote alternatives to plastic packaging and containers.

Voltx S2200 Pro power station Buyer beware; The power station fans are very noisy. When the AC inverter is on there is also a very high pitch squeel, alongside the loud fan. I thought it was just an AC thing, but when I was charging via DC (at only 100W), the fan still came on and is like a vacuum running. Totally understandable for the fan to… Read more

run when inverter is running, or when it's being charged by AC, but I can't understand why it's necessary at very low charge watts?

Update: contacted by Voltx, and apparently the noise is normal. We are going to try to work something out in the van - put in a hatch with some sound proofing or something. If the noise was advertised I would have spent a bit more and bought a different brand. Unfortunately, when I purchased there weren't any reviews - however they are starting to pop up now.

If noise isn't an issue for you, then it's worth the buy..

**Interesting update... My 2 star review appears to have been 'removed/hidden' from the outbax website. I won't be purchasing any more Voltx products (this is my third product), as a company that seem to hide any negative reviews on their products sadly can't be trusted.

reached and paid for in full, it is unreasonable for Woolworths to retro actively change said agreement while providing no recourse to properly address this. I have contacted them multiple times, which has resulted in dismissive emails and chats that reply with a pre written which immediately closes, preventing me from raising my issues. It is this type of behaviour that solidifies the image Woolworths has appropriately earned, of being untrustworthy and unconcerned with the welfare of the population of Australia.

Nescafe Blend 43 Espresso (500g), according to their catalogue on sale dated 29 April 2026 was $22.00. As the cashier scanned item, it was still the normal amount of $32.00! No changes made to their system of the correct sale amount. Price gauging to increase their profits.

Follow-up  · Yes, issue was resolved with customer service. No, store staff did not explain the price difference. Yes, product packaging was the same as the sale ad.

What has happened to quality of WW Thick Cut Eye Fillet Steak? Been buying this for a number of years with no problems. My latest purchases have been rubbish, gristle, tough meat, tasteless. I have always cooked steaks the same way and can't believe the difference to what they used to be. Seems like WW sucked us in by providing a quality product originally only for the quality to drop and the price to rise. Anyone else found a difference?
