I had a little trouble figuring out how to get the cleaner attached but I emailed the shop and they sent very good instructions and photos. All sorted now Show details
I have purchased 2 items from Best Pool Supplies and both items have arrived in very good time, as promised. The purchase process is simple and easy to follow and delivery of the item was tracked and advised to me from the time it was despatched to arrival. The Aquasphere Pool Cleaner is super easy to unpack and install. I had it working in… Read more · 1
minutes and has been working really well for a whole week now. Great product at a great price. Also great service from the retailer.
Poor instructions and extra undocumented part – The instruction manual is poor. Parts pictured on page 2 are then called other things in the set up instructions. No clear picture of final assembly. What is the included part that has an internal spring and numbers on the side (not shown on page 2). Show details
Good budget pool cleaner – Had my aquasphere for over 10 years and replaced a few bits thru wear and tear. Only downside are the yellow diaphragms - mine literally eats them. Go through 2 per year. Kidney shaped pool gets cleaned well by the old aquasphere and only occasional palm nuts and stones jam in the throat. Overall good value cleaner Show details · 1
Good simple design works well with dirty pool – I bought a replacement head for the one I inherited with the pool. I have a small fibreglass kidney pool. There are parts of the pool where this unit wont reach. Its important to get the balance of flow and hose length right. Springloaded flapper flow regulator is no good. I have to use a manual screw flow regulator in the skimmer box to get the… Read more
unit to work well. I got over 4 years from the latest unit. The nut that locks the head to the foot has worn out and falls loose and the foot is worn down paper thin and folds over all the time now. 2 years ago one of the weights broke off, I think because the scrap lead inside is free and just wore out the plastic box its in. I cant see how a dearer unit of similar design can do better if its made from similar material. Even with the faults, its still working. BUT I also have trees. The worst are the maple balls, second to acorns. This pool cops a beating and a robot cleaner with the rollers wouldnt deal with the rubbish very well. This ones simple design makes its easy to cope with. I go through 2-3 of the silicone diaphragms per year but I also run the cleaner 6-8 hours a day, even through winter. I use a 19mm hard plastic irrigation hose to poke through maple balls etc.
Best suction pool cleaner I've owned – The cleaner only ever gets stuck if the diaphragm or hose gets a split. These are easily replaced. The one thing I would change is where the two pieces of the head cleaner attach to each other. You line up two plastic tabs and twist - think of a bayonet light globe fitting. It really should be a screw thread because over time the tabs wear so that the two pieces keep separating. Show details
Good cleaning robot but not built to last! – Only 3 years old and already broken. Not as robust as the original Zodiac Baracuda. Things are less and less built to last! 4 to 5 years life seemed a reasonable life expectancy from my point of view considering the price! Spare parts are also very expensive when available. My last disc has lasted only about a year! Show details
Good for the money!! – I have owned at least 6 of these over many years. Simple design and very unforgiving. If it stops working the reason is easily rectified. Usually the diaphragm or your basket is full or your pressure has dropped, split hose etc...Of the course the parts wear out but consider the work it does. Remember it sits in salt water 24/7 and does… Read more
hundreds of thousands of cycles around your pool in its lifetime. Everything requires maintenance and they are very easy to understand and work on. Nothing last for ever, and if they did, they would be incredibly expensive. Don’t be too harsh on this cleaner at this price point.
Forever replacing diaphrams – We have only had the cleaner a few years and have had to replace the diaphragm many times. The flow has been adjusted to stop it wearing out so much but this hasn't helped. We now have to replace the hoses as they have all perished. We previously had a Zodiac robot type cleaner for our last pool and even though it was more expensive it did a… Read more
much better job of getting around the pool and cleaning it. And we only had to replace one of the rubber tyre treds in the five years we had it. I am thinking I will ditch the Aquasphere and invest in a robot style - after spending at least $20 for each diaphragm and now $20 per each hose I have well and truly spent more on parts than the original price of the item.
Faulty diaphargms – Purchased 17/06/2015, and in that time it has had three faulty diaphragms, with the problem being a design/manufacture fault . Replaced under the 2 year warranty but what happens after that time? when it will still happen. Not happy with this cleaner! As have to travel 85 km to get it replaced.
Brilliant cleaner – I am about to order my second one. The first has lasted years(So long I cant remember but more than 5 years, could be 10 +) It eventually wore out where the head connects. Had to replace numerous diaphramns with gum nuts splitting them. Having owned other pool cleaners Kreepy & Barracuda, this is the best. Its simple and it works! It does not last forever
Just wont suck – Just refuses to circulate and clean checked pump ,basket ,diaphragm etc'its never run properly 2 months old pool shop refuses to help all he ask what had done and he said adjust the weight on tube but didn't help I give up its set up properly filter ,basket pipes pump all correct "who knows ? Nothing yet Won't move, suck ect
Best diaphragm cleaner on the market – This design has been around since the 80s (originally as Baracuda, then Zodiac, now Aquasphere) and there's a reason it's still sold, it works. Very simple design, and i've seen dozens that are 12-15yrs old and still going strong. The only 'issue' is that the cassette chamber and locking ring will eventually wear. I've never seen that happen in… Read more
less than 8 years though.
They don't like to work in pools with strange shapes etc, no diaphragm cleaner does.
There is a problem with the diaphragms at the moment (a Zodiac problem), make sure you keep your receipt as they have a 12 month warranty.
Otherwise these are great. reliable, very durable, cheaper than genuine Zodiac The cassette chamber eventually wears.

It is simple, efficient and quiet. Easy to assemble once you work out the instraction manual – The old Kreepy Krauly, that came with the house, would cost $500 in replacing parts, so a local pool shop recommended this one as a cheaper option with minimal maintenance, and the ability to replace for cheaper generic parts. I have not yet found any review of this product online, so I thought this could be useful to many. It is distributed by… Read more · 4
Zodiac company, and thus fits original Baracuda parts. Being sold for >$400 in the local "cheap" pool shop, I ordered online for $200 less and free delivery. My online experience with Maple street pool shop was good, I received it in great condition overnight (from NSW to QLD), still with full warranty. First thing I noticed was that there is no phone contact to Aquasphere in Australia (only email customer service:().The instructions manual is very poor for those who never had a cleaner before. The pictures are unclear, and there is no picture of the complete product after assembly. There is also no consistency in terminology, some repetition occurs, assemble steps are all over the place, and yes, you end up with a spare part that is no mentioned anywhere at all. The product itself seem to work great so far. After assembly, it was eager to tackle my 12m concrete B shape pool in seamingly random course, and had it all cleaned in 2 hours. It climbs the walls and some steps and does not climb above the water level. However, I found it several times stuck sucking on the return jet that does not work, and in a corner of a step. It handles leaves to about 8 cm, and is absolutely quiet. I added two $10 copy lengths of hose to the original 10m hose (about $8 difference each), a great advantage to a one-piece hose for Kreepy (around $180). The copy hose's connection is tighter, which I prefer. Overall, I'm happy with the product, it does what it is supposed to do, and way more than my old and loud Kreepy with a few missing parts. Price is more affordable and realistic, works efficiently, and gray colour is less obtrusive in water. Instruction manual was poor quality and use, no phone contact to customer service
Aquasphere Bad product company not readily contactable – Aquasphere Pool Chlorinator purchased it about 3 weeks ago. It worked fine for a week or so and then the control unit died Tried to contact Aquasphere via their website as they DO NOT provide a phone number . Their on line site will not let you in it keeps saying that Australia is not a valid country . Next stop lawyers and or consumer affairs .… Read more
How can they believe that they do not need to be contactable
Bad communications in fact no way of communicating except by snail mail
I have had the complete opposite experience with Aquasphere. I purchased a salt chlorinator sytem… Read more
