Late November 2025 I took my engagement/wedding ring set to Michael Hill in Albury after the ring was damaged. The cause of the damage is unknown however the main diamond from my engagement ring was lost. After multiple phone calls from my end and NO progress updates from the store, I've been told my ring will not be repaired. When I purchased all of the rings, I have also purchased the relevant care plans, the diamond warranty which I have honoured every 6 months as required only to be told, sorry repairs of this nature are not covered under any of the plans I was told I needed to protect the set. $10,000 worth of rings, additional costs to cover what should have covered and damages to the ring but only to find out when I needed it most, it's all for nothing. Absolutely devastated to have lost my set after only 3 years because a reputable jeweller sells "lifetime warranty/care plans" that are worth less than the paper they're written on.
If this is a store issue and not Michael Hill's flaky policy, please advise so I can take it elsewhere. If this is Michael Hill's policy, it's disgraceful and I hope the above shares some awareness to others before purchasing.
Hi Anna, Thank you for reaching out to us, and we do apologise to hear that we have been unable to assist with your wedding ring set instore. Hi, I had some Jewlery valued back in 2008, I still have the receipts and order numbers. Would there be any chance that they would still have a record of the valuations? I had my engagement ring fixed by another Jeweller and have a very strong suspicion my Diamond has been switched. The one in my ring now is a newer cut to the older original one.
Hi Sonya, Thank you for reaching out to us, and we are so sorry to hear this! Whilst the jeweller would not have records of the 2008 valuation, we do still offer this service through our stores, and could absolutely have this re-examined for you if you have any of your original documentation or details to compare it to!

Hello. I took my ring (purchased from Michael Hill) in for cleaning today at my local store. When I went to pick them up I was told one of the diamonds had fallen out of my ring during cleaning and I would need to pay to have it reset! The ring is to years old so I understand that it is no longer under warranty, but I am shocked that my ring as damaged in the stores care and I have to pay to have it fixed! There is no advice or disclaimers to say that I would be responsible to pay for any damaged done during your cleaning process. I trusted I would get them back undamaged. The lady in store told me I am lucky it happened there and not somewhere else as I would be paying for a new diamond as well! Not what I needed to hear when I was clearly upset. Surely if this happens in store at no fault of mine, I should not have to pay to have it rectified.
Hello, my husband brought me a morganite diamond ring around 10 months ago, at the time it wasn’t in stock, was a brand new range and the display ring in window fit me perfectly. I recently noticed one of the stones has fallen out, and would like it replaced. We cannot find the receipt, but do have the date of purchase/price and store on our bank statement, if I go to the store surely they could search up the purchases for that date, would my bank statement and the ring in question serve as proof of purchase in this instance?
Hi Hayley Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding the loss of a stone from your ring, we are sorry to hear that this has happened. We ask that you email us directly, so we can assist further with this

Hi
I’ve got a wedding/engagement set purchased at the end of 2019. Up until this year there’s been no issues. However I’ve lost the same stone out of the same setting in my engagement ring three times this year and only a few weeks between the last two times! Last time it was replaced I asked for a full inspection just in case, if it was done or not is a different question.
At what point can I ask for a store credit or refund? I shouldn’t have to not be able to wear my ring because it’s getting stones replaced all the time, not to mention the hour and a half each way trip to the closest store. This is getting ridiculous.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your recent interaction with Michael Hill, and we do apologise that your experience was not a positive one. As all customer feedback is welcome, and we are always looking at ways to improve our service, we ask that you email us directly, so we can further investigate this for you.

Hi there, I bought a silver and diamond crossover ring in Nov 2019. At the time of purchase I was sold the Professional Care Plan for an additional $70. I recently went to the Michael Hill store where I purchased the ring to have it re-sized but was advised by the store that this wasn't covered. I advised that I beleived it was (and having re-checked the Plan is can see that it definately was) but was firmly told that it wasn't and that furthermore the type of ring I had precluded any re-sizing. I have now had the ring re-sized elsewhere without fuss. Please can you advise why the re-sizing was refused by the store under the Professional Care Plan? Suzie
I lost one of my diamond earrings.. can I get a replacement? Thank you

My husband and I purchased the lifetime professional care plan when we bought my wedding set in 2011. unfortunately I've misplaced the paperwork when we moved house so I'm wondering if your company keeps records and if I'd be able to get a reprint? My rings need a polished and rhodium plating!
Hi Riannan, For Lifetime Professional Care Plans, our in-store teams can attempt to search for the original purchase documentation to locate your Professional Care Plan number. We recommend visiting your preferred Michael Hill store, with any purchase documentation you do have and our wonderful sales associates will be able to provide more specific advice.

Thank you! Fingers crossed either the store I bought it from, or the store where it had its last clean and plating have me on record!
I’ve had my engagement ring for 2 months. I took it back to get resized within the first 2 weeks. I’ve had it back like 3-4 weeks ago and it bent out of shape massively today. I am so devastated because I’m always so careful when I wear it because I know my fiancé spent so much money in this ring. I believe the band may be too small and that’s why it has out shaped so badly. Is there any chance to get a bigger band with the same diamond free of cost due to the make being faulty?
Hi Tayla, We are sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue with your engagement ring. We recommend taking your ring back to the store that arranged the resizing for you, together with any resizing receipts you have.
The in-store sales professionals will be able to examine your ring and provide more detailed advice.

I have a diamond ring which I purchased approximately 17 months ago. I haven't had the diamonds checked due to working in an aged care facility which has constantly been in lockdown due to covid outbreaks. Also my father was ill and passed away in that time. I noticed on the weekend that one of the diamonds is missing. I have the warranty but now realise I have void this by not having the 6 monthly checks. Wondering how expensive it would be to have it replaced or if there is anything else I can do. Thanks Mandy
Hi Milly, Thank you for reaching out to us - and we're so sorry to hear that this has happened! Without seeing that one, it is difficult to see what's happened, but if you take that one into your local store for assessment (or the store of purchase), they will inspect that one for you, and advise what the next step is from here. Kind regards, Michael Hill Customer Services
About 10 years ago I bought my wife a Micheal Hill watch which came with free lifetime replacement battery . We have had several batteries, but were told today there was a change in policy and there is a $35 fee. Could you please explain?
Hi Pam, We apologise for any confusion caused, the store is correct that there was a change to the offering of a Lifetime Battery Replacement policy, however the change did not retroactively apply for watches purchased while the policy was in place.
If you can email more detailed information regarding your watch, when this was purchased and the store you visited for a battery replacement to online@michaelhill.com.au we will be able to look into this further for you.
Kind regards Michael Hill Customer Service
I have a gold watch 9226. Bought Midland WA. Told life time battery replacement. Usually get voucher for battery replacement from Midland store for Mr Minute to install new battery. Now told 3 weeks or more as watch has to be sent away??? Then told if I get it replaced somewhere else, it voids the Warranty??? Is this all correct?
Hi, Thank you for reaching out to us! We do apologise for any disappointment - the information provided by store is correct in this instance, we did make the decision as a brand that all Michael Hill watches were best in expert hands which is why we now partner with an off site watch team who perform battery replacements for us (and usually give the watch a good clean/polish at the same time!) This decision was made solely to ensure only the most qualified hands are touching your beautiful watch.
Kind regards, Michael Hill Customer Services
3 weeks to change a battery, sounds like BS. You got what you wanted. Warranty void.
I have a bad experience I have change to mind to return my wedding ring but, in the store they can't take it back there is no sense at all because I bought this ring Jan 31-2023.

Hi Guys, I recently found a Michael Hill watch that my wife misplaced about 17 years ago. It is all Stainless Steel and is waterproof to a depth of 100M. It still work perfectly, but the Black Rubber Band that was SCREW Fixed to the watch has fell to pieces. Do you know if I can still purchase a new strap ? I love the watch, it would be a real shame to have to bin it. Can you offer any advice. Kind Regards. Mark B.

I received diamond studs as an 18th Birthday gift about a year and a half ago, the security backing on one of the studs somehow came loose and the stud has fallen out and gotten lost without me realising, am I able to purchase a single replacement stud? Otherwise what are my options?
Hi Shani, Thank you for reaching out to us! Unfortunately we are unable to sell single studs, but I recommend chatting to our team instore and bringing in the remaining stud so we can quote for replacement!
