Sooo slow and no communication – We had a burglary in late October and are still waiting for AAMI to finalise. Luckily only a few pieces of jewellery, with not much financial value although lots of sentimental value was stolen, + an old Ipod. The money is not the issue, the sentimental value is irreplaceable.

Initially AAMI constantly asked us for photos of the items which we did not have and implying that, because we didn't, we were lying. The thief/thieves left more valuable stuff [which police stated is often the case] and we have since had a safe installed which cost us nearly $1000 so we have since demonstrated our commitment to avoiding thefts in the future.

We would like to finalise this claim and move on and forget that somebody broke into our home but can't because AAMI does nothing. We paid the $200 excess in December at their request but still no progress. They ignore emails requesting information - we had a reply to one a month ago and 2 weeks after we sent them one, and nothing since.

They offer a 'my claim' page on their website so you can track your claim - but it has no information on it except that the claim is in process. Our concern is if something vital had been stolen/broken like a fence or fridge - would we still be waiting 4 months later for them to finalise the claim???? One star only for getting the window fixed immediately. Did get broken window fixed immediately Being made to feel like a liar; no communication
