Asko D5424
3.1Great Dishwasher, simple to use – This is our first dishwasher and after looking at bosch, smeg and many other brands settle on this one due to size dishes supported, the simple use of the dishwasher and asko reputation.
We were told it would be delivered on the Tuesday. Monday night we received a call from Asko with a time range for delivery. The dishwasher arrived on the Tuesday in the mentioned timeframe.
We installed the dishwasher ourselves and ran the rinse cycle - it leaked. We immediately called the support line and after a few quick tests a repair man was organised for the Thursday. The tech person also said this was quite common with a new dishwasher as sometime the door seal just needs to be pulled out and pushed back in due to transportation issues. The Tuesday night I pulled the seal out and put it back in - the leaks were gone. We rang and cancelled the repair man.
We've now used the dishwasher for just over a month. Since this is our first dishwasher we've learned a few things. 1. Plastic doesn't always dry - apparently this is common of condenser based drying dishwashers (most of them). 2. You can really put lots in the dishwasher, 3. You don't need rinse aid if you use tablets.
We are very impressed with the dishwasher. No matter what we cram in it, everything washes well, and with the exception of the odd plastic item and things we didn't put in so water could drain out. The dishwasher is quite enough we can watch TV in the same room and simple to use.
When buying this dishwasher we were concerned about the lack of a half wash (we are on tank water only). Until we realised we pretty much load the dishwasher up until there's no room left in it anyway, hence the half load option would have been a waste. Our most frequently used wash is the Normal Wash with long dry - We found we need the long dry on pretty much any cycle and opening the door at the end of the cycle is important. Simplicity, size of internals, price, works well Doesn't dry plastic well
Label said made in Sweden ( I looked when installing it, since the store person wasn't convincing)
So figured I'd add an update after 12 years. The dishwasher is still going strong, despite now having 2 kids, getting hammered daily and crammed full of dishes. Biggest complaint would be the clips that hold the top shelf in fall off and need to be put back on, however that's pretty minor. The internal size of this dishwasher is great - have loaded dishwashers at friends houses and can't believe how little you can get in some dishwashers. Definiately will be buying another Asko when this one goes!
