Canon IXUS 220 HS THUMBS UP !!!! – I bought one of these for my wife in November (2011) for $172 from an online store (Digital World International) and it is an instant hit with her.

The camera has performed way beyond expectations for a camera anywhere near that price, and in fact is comparable to far more expensive offerings.

The performance in low-light situations is absolutely awesome!! and that goes for video as well as stills.

Totally recommended. Image quality, screen clarity, screen size, ease of use, low-light capability, size, colour range, everything really.
