OK – Doesn't take any better pics than a camera of half it's price. I wouldn't recommend getting one until they drop to around $300. Paid around $550 for mine when they were new, upgrading from an IXUS 120is, and I'm a bit disappointed. Pics should be much better quality. The only reason to buy this is because of the zoom. Low light photos are rubbish, unless you want to blind people with the flash.
Thinking of selling mine and getting the Cybershot equivalent as it apparently has much better low light performance - takes 6 rapid shots and combines them. zoom; build quality; screen size; manual adjustment for aperture, focus, etc;
when turned up, the brightest flash I've ever seen picture quality; size; weight; no sunset / negative or other fun modes typically found on compact digitals
