Just over three years, dead washing machine – Well... It's dead. It was a wedding present, no extended warranty and the fabulous local repair guy quoted $200 to fix it.

I've cut my losses and ordered a new machine (Euromaid), with extended warranty (and a council cash back offer) and probably won't ever buy another Electrolux washing machine.

It washes okay but not great, it's slow, and the repeated end of cycle beep drove me crazy. Not great if you have pets, it doesn't remove pet hair very well.

Difficult to clean, the rubber gets full of black wet ick. If you leave it closed it smells. Not the quality I expected from this machine. Good gentle washes, decent load capacity. Expensive to fix after just over three years, and the second time it's had an issue.

I'm sorry but I have to say I just bought one of these machines and 1. the end of cycle beep can be turned off which is on page 8 of the manual. 2. It's recommended to leave the machine open after cycles to air out. 3.Front load washing machines are slower than top loaders, meaning the wash cycles take longer, therefor, the time for a load on this machine is quite reasonable for a front loader. My guess is the "black wet ick" was your fault and not the fault of the machine. Electrolux are a phone call away 7 days a week, maybe you could have asked for help.

Electrolux Washing Machine front loading 7Kg M/N EWF1074 PCB and Door switch needs replacing according to Electrolux Tech.

after less than 4 years of very limited usage.

I am contemplating, .having conferred with Fair Trading NSW and an offer (ex Eletrolux) of a new machine at almost full retail and parts at full consumer price, starting the process to obtain a Fair Trading Tribunal Hearing .

Has any one else gone down this track ??
