Excellent Saeco – I'm a Saeco fan having had a Saeco Incanto 13 years and daily use...overhaul service once..swapped the sieve hole size for more crema effect. Daughter uses it now. Done a few thousand shots on this Odea machine bought second hand albeit little used. Simple to descale. The tank is a touch small if you want normal sized coffee but understandably… Read more ·  1

as it suits small expresso shots At some point, coffee lines clog if you do not use it often enough due to particulate hardening or lack of service. Try running a few shots of coffee with descaling solution when you descale. You are wasting a few dollars of beans to save hundreds .... the descaling dissolves the particulate buildup. Try a tablespoon cream of tartar for descaling cheapos.... just ensure you run clean water a few more shots to remove the taint taste in the coffee lines. Good as gold for few more years.

Good - when it works – I've had this machine for about 3 years. I've had it in for services twice, when it stopped working well. Now I can't find a page to repair/service it again as its broken again (the place I did use closed down) and haven't used it for about 6 months. When it does work, it's great, but I'm annoyed that it keeps doing this.  Show details

No coffee coming out – Absolute waste of money had little use and now won’t dispense coffee and to top it off no one will look at it as there is no repair agent close to where I live it has to be sent 3 hours away. Support at phillips we’re absolutely no help whatsoever  Show details

Have 2 of these and one leaks and the other has been in the for repair to many times and is back the – why do the 2 lights top and bottom red blink alternately and the machine won't do anything? The machine that leaks we have had for ages and has been good till now. The other has had little use and continues to break down costing 2x the cost of the machine already not happy.  Show details

Absolutely terrible machine, if you like coffee do not buy this machine – All plastic, very flimsy and cheaply made, for the price I could not believe how poorly made it was. Very difficult to use, very fiddly to get it to work at all. Even on maximum setting coffee is too weak. Milk steamer is near on useless. Give me back my old Sunbeam Crema and day.  Show details

Good machine but too fiddly and can't vary the amount of coffee – Had this coffee machine for about four years now. It has made thousands of cups and still going strong, though it now has a minor leak at the water tank, which needs fixing. Had it fixed once before under warranty - problem with the steam wand. The repairer said the valve was a known problem and put in a new model valve, which should be standard… Read more

now. This machine will only take whole beans, which it grinds, but in my opinion this is a drawback. It's another step in a drawn-out process of making coffee: filling the tank, waiting for the machine to prime itself, waiting for the beans to grind, then drip out the coffee, then you steam the milk. The tank is small and often needs refilling, ditto the waste grinds often needs emptying, and the lights often flash to tell you do something before you can just make coffee.

I used to have a cheap machine that was less automated but so much simpler, and it made better coffee because you could vary the amount of coffee grinds. This one grinds a fixed amount of coffee every time, and you vary the amount of water. The coffee it grinds is only about enough for a very small espresso, if you like it strong, like me. Adding more water really only waters it down. If you want more coffee, you really have to give it two shots, which is another couple of minutes on the process. So much simpler and better if you could add more coffee first up.

If you insist on freshly ground beans and like your coffee weak to medium strength, this is probably a good machine for you. It does make good coffee, it is a reliable machine, and I have learnt to live with its limitations. I wouldn't buy another one, though.

Amazingly Good - no issues at all – Simple operation, I make a medium sized coffee every morning then several over each weekend, refilling water, and emptying dregs and dirty water about once a week. I descale when necessary every 3 months or so - easy with the manual handy and clear instructions. Would buy again after 5 years of consistent use.  Show reply

Great purchase – Bought this machine in August 2012 so we have only the machine 4 months but it has been fantastic , easy to work , just load the beans , add water and press the botton and you have a coffee that a coffee shop would be proud - also the frother is powerful and works well . Easy to operate  Show 2 replies

great purchase – Purchased my coffee machine after trying many brands at a " Coffee machine presentation " day in store 12 monthes ago . I have never been disapointed with my purchase.I find it doesn't make a mess on the bench like my last one and is very easy to use,if anything needs attention a light alerts you and is easy to rectify . And of course most… Read more

Makes a nice coffee, but likely to have faults – The first Odea Giro we purchased nearly 4 years ago had three faults in the first 14 months. We are in Brisbane and the only Saeco recommended repairer was in Loganholme. A long way away from us in north Brisbane. I insisted that Harvey Norman transport the machine for us to the repair centre and they (quite happily) obliged each time. … Read more

However, because the machine was at the repairer for several weeks each time, we were without a machine for a very large percentage of the time in the warranty period.

By the fourth time there was a fault it just so happened that a Saeco Rep was Instore at Harvey Norman when I was bringing the machine in for repair. I told her about how many problems we had in the first year and eventually (after more inspections at the service centre) the machine was replaced.

This machine is now 2years old and has been good up until lately, it is now leaking. Obviously out of warranty we are hesitant to spend any money on repairs and servicing for this machine.

We use good quality fresh beans so the coffee quality is good, however we are unlikely to buy Saeco again due to the faults the machine has had. No idea yet on what brand we will go for next time. Easy to use, good tasting coffee produced. Too many faults, lack of service centres.

Terrible – I can't recommend this machine, basically it's been a real pain and a waste of money. I'd put it down to cheap parts, it just doesn't seem to be built to last, very plastic. Had a Saeco Via Venezia before this one which lasted much longer with no troubles and hardly any maintenance so it may not be a Saeco thing, just an issue with this particular… Read more

model. Easy to use, good crema, nice hot coffee produced. Temperamental at frothing milk. Small water tank. It's quite a large machine so takes up a lot of bench space. Terrible service when broken - died after 6 wks and took 6 wks to repair only to get it back and have to send it straight back for repair without being able to make one cup of coffee. Several phone calls and 4 weeks later we finally get it back only for it to die completely months later. Water spout leaks constantly and randomly spits out hot water at you. Coating started coming off drip tray after only a few months.

Consistant quality and ease of use – I am not a fan of automatic coffee machines, but I have been using this one for a couple of years and I must say its a consistent performer. I have gotten used to the ease of just loading beans in the top, water in the side and cup under spout. I have taken it to work to make many coffee's, and made many more at home, its a portable unit, but… Read more

its a hassle to move around. Its not small and you need to empty the beans and water out before you transport it.

It has developed a leak via the steam jet (a weak seal I think) but its not stopped it from producing a quality cup of coffee.

Its been a dependable machine and is still a good producer of coffee.

I recommend this appliance as worth a spot on your kitchen bench. Produces a quality product with little effort from me. Looks good and has aged very well. Sometimes tells me its full (of spent grounds) when its not. De-scaling is a pain, Not twin boiler (but knew that when I bought it).

Excellent product to operate – I bought this for my husband after a lot of research and found this model. It is easy to use and makes great coffee and the frother attachment is good as it comes with an option of a hose if you want to froth jugs of milk. It is quick and you can select the stregths of the coffee. The only gripe is the descaling process as it takes a while but… Read more

once every 3 months isn't such a hassel. I was also worried about the 'plastic' look and components but it has been nearly a year and I can not fault it. Easy to operate, makes good coffee and froth Time consuming to clean, can not use flavoured coffee in it

Terrible – Could get no response from the 'so-called' Saeco Customer Service centre. I took the brand new machine to an authorised service centre and they advised after 10 days that there was a sticking valve and a cracked pipe!! They ordered that part from Saeco who still have not supplied it after a Month or advised why there is a delay. This is NOT good… Read more

enough - a company that supplies deffective brand new products and cannot support them properly should be avoided!! Unable to say as it has not made a cup of coffee yet!! Appalling customer service from Saeco. Brand new out of box and leaked water all over the benchtop!!

Coffee OK, Reliability Not – This machine makes good coffee - you just need to experiment a lot initially and be prepared for a few taste disasters. Beware if your machine breaks down though! Quick to make coffee and frothing jug does not need to be held as it can rest on a ledge. In the first year, it spent more time in the repair shop than at home - most frustrating. We had… Read more

water leaks 3 times and then the main circuitboard blew up, 3 weeks out of warranty. To their credit, I did not have to pay the $500 for the repair (I wouldn't have anyway) as my repairer, bless his soul, convinced them that that my machine had been out of service for too long. It is now working fine, but its water reservoir and "slops" container have to be tended to too often.

Excellent – No problems with this machine (for use at work) easy to maintain and easy to clean! Simply place your cup under the nozzle and press the cup and easy - instant coffee! When I get one for home I will definitely get a Saeco. Simple and easy to use to make a coffee. Amazed at how well the coffee comes out. Coffee takes a small while to fill up a large cup.

Excellent – I have only had this machine for approx. 2 months - this is our first coffee machine. My husband and I aren't coffee connoisseurs, but we do enjoy a nice espresso or cappuccino. Haven't had a mechanical or electrical problems yet (I listened to my mum - less electronics, less problems!). It makes a great coffee (with a nice amount of crema) and… Read more

the milk frothing is great - nice and creamy. The only problem I had was that I set the grinding to fine. I was finding that the coffee would not come out on occassions, once I changed it to medium it works every time. I wish it had an option for pre-ground coffee, but overall its not a big issue. Once you work out how the machine works, its very easy to use and very easy to clean. Highly recommend this machine if you're after a no-fuss auto machine. Easy to use - easy access to refill water, coffee and cleaning. Can only use whole beans - no option for pre-ground coffee.

Excellent – Overall an excellent machine. It is on the lower end of the Saeco machines as far as price goes but i can't fault it. Produces good coffee from espresso to flat white. Very impressed! Simple to use. Good quality coffee. Water tank is not huge and needs to be refilled often.

Bad – very disappointed to have bought a product that is prone to fault, and the fault seems to be a result of its mechanical design. Also very disappointed that the company is not responsive to the problem. When working, makes lovely coffee and is simple to use mechanically poor, service is terrible; been in for repairs twice with the same fault

Excellent – We researched for ages as to what machine to get. We love this machine. It has copped a beating as we have two small children and coffee has become a saviour! we are away from home unless we find a really great cafe, the coffee elsewhere just doesn't compare. Our friends and family love it as well. Would definitely buy this brand again in the future. Everything! Easy to use, quieter than other machines, great coffee, easy to keep clean and maintain.

Makes a good cup – I have used this coffee machine for a while now and really like it. It makes a nice coffee. I can choose how strong I like it and as you have the seperate milk frother you can get the milk as hot as you like, this is good for us because we are a very hot coffee family. It doesnt froth the milk alot so if you like a cappucino this might not… Read more

be great for you. It would probably differ with the milk you use though (we buy zero fat). Makes nice coffee, I like that it grinds the beans fresh. Fairly expensive machine
