Philips actively promotes single-use plastics – Philips Senseo coffee maker is a basic coffee machine, with a few difficult to clean areas. My main issue is that it's wasteful, in that all the flavors such as Café Latte, Café Latte Vanilla, Milka, Cappuccino, Latte Machiato Caramel, Cappuccino Choco... Come served in big wads of plastic mixed with film and filter... non-recyclable single use… Read more

plastic. Not a small amount either, but a big wad of plastic goes in the bin for each and every flavored coffee. They rebranded coffee pods as "pads" which now sounds like you're sipping flavor from a sanitary towel.

Great, no mess coffee – I first tried this coffee machine while on holiday in the Netherlands, when I came back to Australia I bought a philips senseo from Ebay and after a good 5 years is still going strong. Coffee machine is very easy to operate and using pads you have the option of making 1 or 2 cups of coffee with no mess, just press the button and when finished… Read more ·  1

throw out the used pad. Love the coffee and there are lots of different strengths and flavors to try. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because it can be challenging to find the senseo pads, I used to be able to buy them in Woolworths but they're not stocking them anymore so I buy them either at the Dutch shop or get family from Europe to sent me a box.

Love it, getting the coffee pods not so much – I first tried this coffee machine set-up 8 years ago in Holland and loved the taste of the coffee that it produced so much, I brought one home to Australia and changed the plug to AU and presto it has been making great coffee ever since, I also got my self a 2nd one from Gumtree. Family and friends when they visit insist that I make them a coffee… Read more ·  1

from this machine as they also enjoy the great tasting coffee it produces.

The machine comes with ducs, a single and a double which you use to make a mug.

The only downside is sourcing the coffee pads. When I was in Yeppoon Qld the local Woolworth's stocked them but they were expensive $0.53 per pad, I found that by buying them in bulk, 20 packs of either 36 or 48 and having my in-laws post them to me from Holland, the cheapest way of getting the coffee pads, bringing the cost down to around $0.26 per pad, but then not every one has family back in Holland.

Love this coffee Machine and will keep using it.

Coffee pads now available on Gold Coast – Captain Candy at Ashmore on the Gold Coast are selling these sensio coffee pads, plus also the dutch supermarket brand AN. I have been looking everywhere for them, and they're right there in my home town! They also sell quite a range of dutch lollies and other foods incl croquettes.  Show reply

Where can I buy Senseo Coffee Bags in Sydney? – I have tried both Woolworths and Coles and cannot find the coffee bags anywhere. Are they still being sold? Would anybody know where they might still be sold. They make a great cup of coffee. If they are not being made anymore I suppose I will just have to throw out the machine !!!!!  Show 8 replies

Coffeepot – I like my machine, good coffee. Yes the coffeepods are à bit expensive, but if you go to à good shop, you Pay easely ? $ 3.00 for à single cup. I think it is worth it. Not everyone likes that type of coffee. My husband just likes instant. Well everyone has a different taste. Regards Taste mainly

Phillips Senseo Capuccino maker (my bad not this model, I've got the one with mild frother) – Outstanding!! Ordered my pods from typicaldutchstuff.com (not to be confused with typical-dutch-store.com) and got 264 assorted Senseo pods (all 12 flavours and individually wrapped) for $54 Euros ($65AUS) incl. delivery. My mum has the Nespresso Lattissima and it's good; coffee is really good but unless you preheat the cup it's too cold for my… Read more

liking. The Senseo (although not boiling hot) it's perfect temp to be able to sip it without it going cold.

Senseo in a few words it's simply amazing!! At least $200 cheaper than Lattissima. Pods costed roughly 25c ea! Delonghi watch out because Senseo it's a force to be reckon with! Soooo easy to use and clean. Big water reservoir. Coffee is fantastic. It looks sleek and compact enough to have on kitchen counter. Love it! If I wanted to be picky I would say milk container could be a bit bigger.

Love it – I brought this from overseas because all my friends had one there. It is so easy and low maintenance and brews great coffee. I have to get my pods at Woolies and they are not cheap. Comes down to about 40c a cup. Easy, great coffee, low maintenance, looks great Relatively hard to find pods, pods are fairly expensive Show 3 replies

Excellent – I am glad we bought this machine. At home, it is the only coffee I drink. Pods can be expensive, but cheaper than coffee in a coffee shop. Everything - terrific machine - no mess and easy to clean Living in rural Victoria, have limited access to pods. Show reply

Outstanding – Simply makes great coffee at a fraction of the price. Nice creama. I use eco pods (reusable container), to access a wider variety of coffee. Easy to clean. Had mine for 12 months. Bought another for work. Avoid the "duck", as the carrier catches in the seal & creates a big mess. Eco pods are the go. Great coffee. Great price. Marcona pods provide limited coffee varieties.  Show reply

Good – I like that this machine is very quick and easy to use. It's not brain surgery to operate it. I am not a huge fan of the pods that are available and they seem expensive to me. I have bought something on ebay that I can put my own coffee into it and use it in the machine as I would a normal pod which I htink is mush preferable. Also the machine… Read more

Excellent – My BIL has one and I was impressed by the simplicity of it. I do have a sunbeam Artista but this Sensco is good for our holiday house as nothing can get damaged through it not being clean/spurged by visitors. Wasn't too pleased at first thinking I had to use the coffee pads but available is a 'duck' that allows you to use your favourite coffee.… Read more ·  1

These are about $25 new on line (ebay). I have brought my SIL a Senseo and 'duck' for her birthday. She likes uncomplicated appliances so should be good for her. Beats instant coffee hands down! small, compact and produces good crema and now can us my fav coffee with the new 'duck' attachment.

Good – Makes a good coffee, using reusable pods.Hated all the pads we bought, found them weak and often stale and an expensive way to buy. We bought Melita Reusable pods, which mean you can buy any ground coffee and use it in the Senseo machine, that way you get a great coffee. We bought the Pods overseas.

simple to use, easy to clean, great tast. We looked for one as soon as we arrived in Australia (from Europe). It is the most simple way to make a fresh cup of coffee. No cons really, apart from the price of coffee pads. I have my family send them from Europe as they are a lot cheaper there! Also we use a refillable permanent coffeepods but coffee is less tasty.

Excellent – I love this machine, I have one at work and one at home. Pods can work out expensive but still much cheaper than buying at a cafe. Good – It's a decent machine, but anything that locks you into buying pods like this is always going to be problamatic. coffee grounds, afforable pods, doesn't take up much bench room and will produce a nice, if somewhat standard cup of coffee No variation in what it produces, the pods can be almost impossible to find, difficult to get the machine fixed when it broke down.

good, reasonably priced option that makes a GREAT coffee. Great little, easy to use machine. Makes a great espresso, pods make it so easy. Most other espresso cups dont fit under the nossle, so a bit tricky if you only have 2 cups and 4 guests (we bought additional cups from Philips to fix this). You have to also microwave the milk if you have your coffee white otherwise coffee comes out warm from the cold milk.

Good design as the moving parts fit together very easy. Makes well above average coffee.
