was one of the best travel cameras of the day, featuring a 12x optical zoom, image stabilisation, and many image enhancement features. Intial release price was over $750AUD, but as with all things, dropped after a year to about $500AUD. Picture quality is excellent, but my favourite feature was the bright and clear, 3" screen, or......maybe it was the HD video, especially the zoom function whilst recording.....actually there's lots to like about this camera. My TZ7 has been snorkelling in the South Pacific, Far North Queensland, Sydney Harbour, Galapagos Islands, and been high in Tibet a couple of times, as well as Macchu Pichuu, been dropped onto rocks, and frozen in icy conditions, and sweated in steamy SE Asia, performing without missing a beat. My only critisism is the slow start up time and auto focus when quick reaction is required for a fleeting shot....around 3 - 4 sec....and even more when travelling in a car / bus. 2nd hand examples are plentiful, with much lower shutter counts than my example, and should be around $20 - $70AUD although I've recently seen one for +$100AUD....It would need to be in excellent condition to command that. Certainly, at the former price, it would be a competent entry level camera for the budding enthusiast, and should you find one with a modest shutter count, say around 40K-60K, it would represent a true bargain.
Failed - Bad product – I purchased the product from the Good Guys and it worked for just 5 weeks. The touch screen broke and Panasonic refuse to fix it. I even purchased the extended Warranty for another $80 on top of the 560 I paid for the camera. Bad Camera, Bad Service, Bad product all round. Easy to use – I've owned this camera for a few year now. The zoom is incredible and delivers superb picture quality. I use IA for taking most pictures and the movie function for recording fun moments with my little kids. Light, great pic quality and easy to use. A little expensive
Excellent – This is my second digital camera and I have had it for well over a year and a half. It comes with a brilliant 25mm Ultra Wide Angle lens which is great for capturing true to life images. computer to off load your images.
It came with all of the cables that you need to charge your battery, load your images onto a computer and view your images/ movies on your TV, my only wish was that this camera came with a convient carry bag where I could store all of these cables.
The camera looks very stylish too and served me well on my two month holiday overseas last year and I came back with some excellent photos. Simple to use Smart iA (intelligent Auto) that takes away the need to be always searching for the right mode and stabilises the photo when your hands might be a bit unsteady Fabulous colour capture Great quality 10 mega pixel pictures Nice 12X optical zoom Creates great AVCHD movies Great battery life, which lasted all day when I was taking hundreds of shots on holiday. If you make a video in portrait mode it is saved in landscape mode and you cannot flip it and have to watch the video on its side. Easy to knock the mode dial out of place and can get a bit annoying. Not the best at taking night pictures, which comes up a bit blurry and overall is not crisp with the defining lines in the dark.
Excellent – I bought this for my mum for Christmas, and it is her first digital camera. She isn't great with technology but she has found this really easy to use and takes great photos. great zoom for such a small camera. Great for people who don't know loads about photography. Takes beautiful photos. Contains a rechargeable battery, I actually prefer AAs becuse they're handy.

550d. It’s very hard to tell the difference in quality of picture.
In my opinion the Tz7 is better than my Canon Ixus and not quite as good as my Canon 550D.
The Panasonic Travel zoom series of camera’s are exactly that. they are amazing camera’s that you can put in your top pocket and take brilliant pictures every time you push the button.
They also take brilliant HD video. It was the Tz7 that got me interested in photography and I thank it for that.
Highly recommended Everything. This would be one of the best travel zoom camera's on the market. it takes brilliant zoom pictures as well as being able to do Macro.
to top it off it does brilliant HD video recording.
when I think of the gear and lenses I have to carry arround with my SLR to take the same pictures its an amazing compact camera. The only small problem is that sometimes you can bump the dial on the top, but its no big deal

Excellent – Great value for money camera. If you don't want to carry your heavy DSLR everywhere this camera is perfect for taking great quality shots. Excellent – Used this camera in our holiday in the USA in Septemebr 2010, and it was just so good!! Everything I put it through, it came out with flighing colours! We saw this camera used by so many people at Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knotts Farm, Hollywood, San Diego Vegas, Grand Canyon and San Francisco, it must be that good!! Everything about this camera is brilliant. Nothing so far.

very clear crisp images x12 digital zoom Ease of use and to download 10.1 megapixels... Great sized viewing screen low built in memory, however supports affordable SD card. More digital zoom would be the other wish list..
Excellent – Performance is outstanding. Videos are first class, I definitely do not need to take my video camera on holdays again. Large lens is a great for producing high quality shots.
