DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! – Brought this for my baby and forgot to turn off the monitor.... It kept ticking without any baby in there. Spoke to ANGELCARE who said it is because I had a fan on and it can't tell the difference between a baby breathing and the air from a fan. Basically we spent $200 for nothing cos there is no point having a monitor that makes u think your baby… Read more
is ok when it may not be but you don't know because you use a fan. Look into snuzza hero they are a portable monitor and fantastic

Movement monitor ok, sound doesnt work! – We were given a refurb model as a gift when our baby was born. As most others here have said, the static in the audio is terrible and leaves it basically unusable. This however isnt an issue for us, because about a week later the parents unit just stopped working! It seems to be a signal/antenna problem because it switches on and gets a burst of… Read more
static at the moment its switched on, but doesnt pick up any signal.
The motion sensor does seem to do a good job, we put it on tic mode so we can hear it. Once we move our baby into his room, though, we'll probably have to buy a sound monitor so we can hear the tic in our room.
I couldnt recommend this to anyone. And I couldnt recommend anyone buying refurb from the manufacturer. Refurbed models are only covered for dead-on-arrival, and 7days after receipt (we got it before our baby was born, so even though it died within 7days, this was well after the window covered by the manufacturer). So we are stuck with it, and I feel bad for the person who spent good money ($100) on this for us that it died so quickly. Even before it died I felt bad for them though because the static pretty much left it unusable anyway, theres no way anyone could ever sleep through it. Motion monitor seems to do a decent job Stopped working within 7days of starting to use it, awful static through the audio. Terrible warranty - beware the refurb!!
Love it!! – My model is actually AC1100 but wasn't given that option. I absolutely love this; I bought it specifically for the sensor pads as was worried about SIDS and my bubs was a premmie. She was born 1.96kg and found no problems with the sensor picking her up. I don't have any issues with static either; not sure if I have a different model to others that… Read more
were experiencing this issue. I have had 2 issues with the alarm going off: once when she was about a month old and once when she was fourth months. They may have been "false alarms" or they may have been actual lapses in breathing. I rushed in both times and she was in a deep sleep and I gently woke her up out of it. All these "false alarms" people are referring to may actually be a lapse in breathing and baby shocked back to breathing again by the alarm or the noise of the parents running in there.
Anyway I don't normally write reviews on the net and only did this one as I saw so many negative comments and just wanted to say it was the best product I bought for peace of mind; otherwise I would be suffering from massive lack of sleep. :) Peace of mind Alarm does go off in the beginning when you take baby out of cot. But after about a month you start to remember to turn it off :)
Excellent – Highly recommend this product for any parent's peace of mind. We even used the movement sensor when bubs was in her bassinet in our room so that I didn't keep sitting up to check on her. The alarm went off once but when I checked it was only because she had wriggled down the cot and off the sensor pad. This monitor was recommended to me by a… Read more
doctor friend and at first I didn't think it necessary for us to have one as we live in a unit with the baby's room right next door. We did invest in one and have found such peace of mind since using it. Before, I was up constantly checking on bubs but now I know that the alarm will sound if she stops breathing I have a much better nights sleep. I keep the volume on the monitor in our room low so that I only hear when she crys however the monitor is really sensitive so if you have the sound up louder you can hear them moving and can pre-empt the cry before feeding time. Not many cons however the ticking of the sound monitor is very loud and at first I thought it couldn't be turned off but the switch at the back allows you to take the tick off whilst still ensuring the movement monitor is on.

Excellent – I love this product, I have the one sensor pad in the cot next to my bed i still check on my daughter constantly Through out the night but it helps to put my mind at ease, i love listening to the little beeps as I'm drifting of to sleep, we have set the alarm of by forgetting to turn the alarm of when getting our baby out. Downside is when we… Read more
have our evaporative cooling going, the alarm will still pic movement up our ducted heating doesn't effect it! Pretty much everything Monitor pics up our evap cooling and sound monitor is fuzzy
Great product, allows us to have a good sleep!! – We were given this monitor when our son was born, we wernt too keen on it as we had heard a lot of people saying they cause more stress than anything, but once we were home from hospital we set it up straight away. It's given us piece of mind and allows me to get some sleep! Our son is still in the bassinett so we haven't had any problems with it… Read more
beeping as he moves but I think once he is in the cot and more mobile the 2 sensor pads would be needed. I have found the speaker monitor to be a little noisy and has a bit of static. Thank fully we haven't had the alarm sound while our son is in it but i find it very reassuring to know that if something does happen we will know. Wouldn't live without it. Gives us piece of mind, allows us to get some sleep!
Eases my mind – I bought this for my 2nd baby and after not having one for my 1st one, I don't know how I lived without it. Its a sound a d movement monitor that will sound an alarm if your baby stops breathing for 20 seconds or more...thankfully this has not happened to me. This product is great for first time parents in particular and takes the stress away… Read more · 2
from those first few uncertain weeks. It has a hand held monitor so you can hear your baby from any room.
Love it! Reliable, Inexpensive, peace of mind, portable Noisy at times
Negative reviews
Static leaves product unusable – As the others have said the product is unusable due to the static. Its so loud. I will be returning the product back to the store. Waste of money! Even when i called angelcare the lady said they have lots of trouble with the same issue as there is only 2 channels to chose from. Very unhappy with the item. movement is great static, leaving product unusable
Good for movement but definitely not for sound – I bought this second hand but for movement sensing only as we already had a sound and video monitor. The movement monitor is great. Adjustable sensing means you can alleviate wind/fan sensitivity and it works! When bub is out of cot for about 20 seconds the alarm goes off The alarm is quiet in the room, but you do need a sound monitor to pick… Read more
this up as you would miss it. We could not leave the angelcare monitor on as the static was just way too much
For the motion monitoring - we are happy with. If I had bought brand new however if I needed sound, then I would have returned the product
Static is terrible! – This monitor has had terrible static from interference from the day we bought it!! No matter where we plug it in in the house, the static is unbearable! A friend has the same one and she also had the same problem. We put up with it, nevertheless, but after just over 2 years the baby end of the monitor gave out (seems to be an internal… Read more
electrical/cable issue), so we've had to buy a new one for our second bub! Worst baby purchase I have made
Static noise is almost louder than baby!
Recent reviews
Good but static is annoying and unpredictable – I was given it as a gift for my first child. I was constantly annoyed at the static. Good little night light for babys room on the monitor. Movement pads worked very well.
Excellent - other bad reviews are simply wrong – This is an outstanding product. It all works perfectly. The reviewers who complained about "very noisy static" are rather silly. This "static" only occurs when the two units are not in range or the Nursery Unit is not powered up. If the Nursery unit and the Parents unit are within range and switched on the "static" disappears - so far from being a nuisance the static is a great safety feature.
Awful! – We plugged this in to test it when we took it home - the static was so loud I was convinced the product was faulty! I took it back to the store, who were also convinced it was faulty. We then sent it back to Angel Care who told us there was absolutely nothing wrong with it and that we should just turn off all our electricity! They were completely… Read more
unhelpful. Thankfully the store we bought it from (my baby warehouse) thought this was completely unreasonable too and were kind enough to swap it for an oricom monitor (which is fantastic) even though this was against their policy. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! Nothing Everything

Doesn't alarm when baby us picked up – I picked my son up today and the alarm didn't sound for half an hour!!! It has been happening for about a month since using the airconditioner. Is this the problem??? I don't feel safe with him In a desperate room anymore. Although he's past the danger point for SIDS I am worried it won't go off if he stops breathing!!!! It worked for the first 6 months. Expensive, no response from company.
It was only because the air conditioner was hitting the valance that it wasn't picking up that he had been picked up.
Good for movement but terrible with noise! – Its really terrible the noise. You have to shut down your phone, your cell, and your wifi and the noise persist. Its not good for audio purposes. I cant ask my neighbor to shut down all his stuff so i can use the angel care monitor. The pads for movements are good but you only use the firts weeks Pad movement. Terrible noise.
No customer service when product stopped working completely – I loved this product at first, other than it being quite noisy through the parent unit when baby is silent, it picked up any little noise from baby and I liked the peace of mind of the sensor pads/alarm. However my parent unit stopped working - it works for a minute or so after being turned on and then randomly just clicks and goes silent and… Read more
does not transmit any noise coming from baby's room. There is still power to it when this happens so it is difficult to tell whether it is still working or not unless you were right there and heard it click off. Zero peace of mind anymore - completely frustrating and useless.
I contacted customer service to see if this was a known issue and what troubleshooting I could try or to purchase a replacement part etc. They initially responded asking me a barrage of questions about when & where it was purchased etc etc, but when I replied I never heard back despite chasing them up again since.
Now a useless lump of plastic on my bench and I have to run up and down the stairs every few minutes to check if bubs has woken. Not happy.
It doesnt work.
Poor choice – I thought I would be more paranoid but just couldn't be bothered with sensor pads. Only used them for about a week when bubs had a bad case of gastro and we worried about choking. But we ended up waking everyone up multiple times because we just couldn't get into the habit of turning monitor off whenever he had to be picked up. Also really bad… Read more
feedback all the time. Swapped for digital monitor after 2 years of bedside buzzing ($40 from Aldi). Much happier. Also LED was way too bright for me, so manky lump of blu-tak was used to block it. Not very appealing. And I love my baby, but what on earth is with the angel and cloud theme? Good grief. It's a gadget that's one step up from a door bell. Spare me the romanticism. Did the job albeit noisily Expensive, noisy, not practical.
Best baby moniter I have ever bought! – The angle care moniter is by far the most reliable and stylish moniter I have ever bought, I love the features it has. Whislt using this moniter I felt as though I was able to sleep alot better knowing that if my bub was having troubles breathing I would be alerted right away, and could fix the situation before things got out of hands. that this product is just one little thing to help prevent SIDS, every parants nightmare! I love that it can be portable as well, great for going away. Love it! Stylish, reliable, portable & convient! Fantastic product is a little pricey
Excellent – I want to thank angelcare. I purchased the monitor with my second child and have used it for three babies now. Yesterday for the first time the alarm went off with my 5 month old in there. I ran into the room to find her in a deep sleep and going blue. I shook her and called her name she gasped then started to cry. I am so grateful for the… Read more
manufacturers of the monitor I can't bear to think about what could have happened without it. I look at my little girl smiling away and think if it were not for the monitor I could well be experiencing every parents worst nightmare right now. Thank you so much. I think this is a MUST for all parents. Don't think it won't happen to you. My little baby is a normal extremely strong healthy baby for this to happen to her came as such a shock. I love the assurance and peace of mind. The disturbance on the parent device.
Not good for light babies – We had this for our son the day he came home from the hospital He weigh about 5 pound and the sensor had a hard time knowing he was there so we had a lot of false alarms As he got heavier the less false alarms we had but have since sold it because we have no need for it anymore wont even use it for the next baby Looks good Interference ( i couldn't sleep with it on ) - false alarms - very noisy static
Value for money – For the price range (midrange) we found this product to be spot on. Have used it for the last few years and has worked reliably especially considering it's almost constantly been in use. If you're after a simple baby monitor it's extremely reliable and long lasting. Good price from a decent brand. The movement detector will become a little passe… Read more
after a few months when baby starts rolling and moving around in sleep so you will be advised to use it only in the bassinet and ditch it when baby moves to a cot, as false alarms can be annoying. If you're after product with more features I would consider one of Angelcare's upper range items.
reassuring – As a first time mum, I wanted to make sure that our baby was breathing ok and since he was at the other side of the house that I could here him. I bought mine second-hand and i think it was about 3 or 4 years old and it still worked fine. it is great that you can plug it in and save money on batteries. I had had batteries in it in case we had a… Read more
power outage or something though. It is great once they are older you can just have sound only because otherwise the sensor can go off. It can pick up static some nights which is really annoying and the green light on the parent monitor is not needed. Glad I noticed you can turn the ticker off as well.

Constant false alarms causing more worry and stress – Looks like a good product but causes more worry as the alarms constantly go off regardless of the sensitivity setting its on even after being set up exactly to the specifications that are described (flat solid surface and use of a board under the mattress and unit). We even brought it back to Mothercare and requested a new one in case we had… Read more
received a faulty monitor....still resulted in the same problems. I would suggest that you do not buy if you intend on trying to relieve your worry about your SIDS...the monitor itself causes more stress and does not do the job it's meant to do. In the end we have just had to turn it off and only use as a sound and temperature monitor, which is its only saving grace. I'm actually surprised by the number of positive reviews from people and suspect that these may have been written by promotional people working with the manufacturers. Looks good Continuous false alarms
I had the exact same problem and found it very stressful. Everytime the alarm went off it would… Read more
Could help prevent autism – I believe autism is caused by emf fields and while Angelcare is an electronic device, i believe it also acts as an anti- static guard throughout the night's hits on your baby with all kinds of environmental emf. Possibly Prevents autism You should use a port a crib as you'll get a false alarm if the baby moves completely off of it, Show reply
NO1 Gift, Must have baby item – I have this model, but for my next baby I will be upgrading as my son pulled the wires out of the base, but now we use it just as a sound monitor, not movement. That in itself is fantastic, as most baby monitors would be unuseable if that happened. I loved the reasurrance this monitor provides Safe, easy A+++++
Excellent, So glad i have it! – As a first time mum, I was a bit of a worry wary! Am I doing it right? What if i don't? With the Angelcare Monitor I felt so much relief knowing that I would know if anything was happening to my baby if i wasn't in the same room or when we were asleep. Although in the back of my mind, being the stressed mum that i was at first, I was worried that… Read more
it might not be working properly or something, but it never faulted! Even my partner liked using it when to start with he said we wouldn't need it! Will be using in the near future when our 2nd baby is born! Was very reliable, easy to use, glad to have it! Was a little more than i wanted to pay, but was worth it!
Good – I found it good for night time...however, I still check on bub frequently just in case. I sleep abit better between checking on him. So, I would recommend if only for that...Nothing beats constant 'supervision'! Easy to use, affordable and gives peace of mind when I'm sleeping. Alot of static in sound monitor, especially when moving it from room… Read more
to room. Sensor pad that baby lies on is very 'sensitive'. If a fan is blowing in the direction it registers that its movement as monitor doesnt sound when fan is on and baby is off the sensor pad. Therefore, I don't use it in extremly warm weather as I need the fan on.
Terrible – Not happy with this considering the amount that was paid for this item. Alarm goes off alot and wakes everyone including the baby when there was no problem at all Great for first time mums especially if your baby has breathing problems. Gives parents piece of mind that their baby is breathing. The alarm goes off all the time even when the baby is breathing and causes alot of upset in the house and wakes the baby.
Can't live without it – We loved it from day one. i bought mine second hand on ebay but it worked perfectly fine. the main purpose was to use it as a movement monitor and although my boy is already 21 months we still use it (we joke that we will probably stop using it only when he starts turning it off himself). as a sound monitor it didn't work so well as it… Read more
occasionally would catch neighbour's signal and we could hear them talk (we have big blocks of 1000m so not sure how that happened). it also was making some noise but as i said we bought it for the movement feature and it worked for us really well and still does. fantastic, reliable, easy to use both in bassinet and in a cot sound monitor was too sensitive, too longer wires
Terrible – I absolutely hate it, it was expensive and i'm disappointed I spent so much money on it, i'd pay someone to take it away! Hasn't given a false alarm Batteries go flat in 24hrs, When you turn one end off the other one sometimes screeches and hisses, sometimes I hear my son through the door instead of the monitor
Fantastic monitor - worth the money – Being a first time mum, this was the first one I chose after reading these product reviews. I'm glad that I paid the money to get this (though not as expensive as other models) It's kept my piece of mind so far and I don't think I could recommend it highly enough. The static noise doesn't bother me when I'm sleeping, I must like the noise, but… Read more
it also has a volume adjuster.
I'm a heavy sleeper too and I'm able to wake easily when I hear bub during the night Easy to use, monitor is clear, low static noise All that I found wrong is if you've built a house up high and if it shakes when you walk through it, the sensor pad can pick up that movement as if the baby is breathing so I regularly check on bub during the day
Good – We stopped using the sensor pad shortly after we first used it as you have to remember to turn off the unit if you take the baby out of bed. For example if the baby is crying and you give it a quick pick up the unit will start making noise which isn’t good when you’re trying to settle the already distressed baby. The monitor unit lights up… Read more
according to the level of sound from the baby.
Backup batteries in both the transmitter and receiver. Can have a buzz if other items are plugged into the same power outlet as the monitor.
Good sound quality if you do need a sound monitor – This was one of those purchases that we bought as first time parents and in hindsight we probably didn't need it. We didn't use the movement indicator because we used the Babysense II Infant Respiratory Monitor. But the sound quality on this unit is better if you do need a monitor due to a large home etc. We live in a small home so we can hear the… Read more
baby very clearly when he cries for our attention, and in the first 5 months we followed SIDS guidelines and slept him in our room anyway, so we really didn't need this unit. Sound quality, sound and lights to see and hear baby's sounds, volume control Unnecessary in a small home, movement indicator is not as good as another brand which detects a reduction in breathing as well as when breathing stops
Excellent – I am a very light sleeper at the best of times, without the peace of mind knowing I have an alarm to wake me if anything is wrong I would not sleep at all from worry. Our son was ill for first few weeks of life and having this monitor was a god send. Every parent should own one. The sensor pads The batteries do not last long.
Bad – This unit was great for up to about 3 months old but when my bin learned to roll over and be on his tummy he army crawls away from the sensor pad !! So I've had slot if false alarm that I don't use the sensor anymore . The unit also has another fault, my baby was only 2.680kg when we brought him home from the hospital and because he was so light… Read more
