Specifications:
High-resoution, optimised fixed-focus for great photographs at an instant
Pros:
Well constructed, solid metal alloy body...quiet chunky, really. Lithi-ion battery and charger plus connection cables provided. 5 megapixels by interpolation does a good job. Good colour saturation and no bleed or artifact noise.
Cons:
Slow save rate per picture taken. Lens quality iffy...pictures can be too soft focus unless you activate the sharpest setting in the sharpeness menu.
Overall:
I bought one at JB HiFi mid 2004. It was cheap! ($199) I was immediately impressed by the body's build quality and alloy construction. The first photos taken were not so impressive. I had to fiddle with the sharpness settings until I obtained reasonable focus. It also can take an age before each shot is processed to the SD card. However, for the price, its quite a good entry camera, especially for kids, and should prove very robust for long term use. Optical zoom function very good. A good buget buy!
