Awesome offroad tyre – I bought my first set or 33 x12.50s when they first came to Australia 13 years ago. Most of the Yanky rock comp rigs seemed to use them back then, so how bad could they be? I'm on my 3rd set, and 140,000kms later. I go looking for the nastiest, rocky tracks I can find and have never had a puncture or damaged the side walls. I don't care what I… Read more

drive over anymore and, like a previous reviewer says, I tend to not even take my spare unless going on a long trip with the family and camper trailer. As they don't make them anymore, I don't know what to buy next. The new Kevlars don't look as aggressive. I've got another 10,000kms to decide. My mate ripped a hole in his BFGs KM2 2nd trip out. So they're off the list.

Highly trusted – On second set with the first doing a round Aus with camper trip , not one puncture and even wear rate , achieved over 60,000 k's keeping in mind this vehicle is constantly loaded with a tandem attached 80% of the time . We do a bit of off road too . If you can't get the k's out of these tyres I'd suggest your alignment is out or your suspension needs attention !  Show details

Average – MTRs came fitted on my new 2011 Defender. After 50,000kms they are only half worn (which is great) but they howl on the freeway. Far louder than my KM2s or khumo mts every were. They are so loud I am replacing them early. Puncture and chip resistance has been good. Road holding is better than the Km2s. Off-road traction is much the same. Balance… Read more

has been a problem but is currently ok (with significant weights). Think I'll try the Hankook Dynapro Mts next. Wear and traction have been good. Noise and balance.

Excellent – Highly recomended tyres, good value for money but shop around as price will vary between 275-420,dont get ripped. Great tyres, just ordered new set,got 60,000kms out of them 10% of road rest tarmac, gave these tyres a hard time and no puntures or tears and didnt let me down once leathal on wet tarmac especially once tread gets around half Show reply

Excellent – YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I have trialed cheaper tyres on other vehicles and find they dont have the puncture resistance, handling and longevity of the more reputable brands. My choice was down to either Cooper or Goodyear based on tread pattern and puncture resistance. Price was the final deciding factor with the coopers at set price of 330 ea… Read more

and the MTR's at 280. I also find that with a heavy load especially being towed behind the D40 having LT rated tyres makes the whole operation alot more stable especially at hiway speeds. My recomedations: These tyres are well worth looking at but haggle the price between a few tyre joints for the best deal. I have the Goodyear Wrangler MTR in a LT265/75R16 on my D40 Navara. excellent resistance to punctures and cuts on rocky terrain, excellent traction in all off road applications. Suprisingly good traction on road in wet and dry - I am a cautious driver though im always doing the speed limit unless traffic or conditions do not permit, these tyres dont cause me to have to slow down at all. Longevity: Ive travelled just on 70000Km on this set and they are still about 5mm deep, I expect to get about 110000 out of them although i rotate them every 10000 to keep them wearing perfect Price. I heckled several tyre dealers around brisbane and got these tyres for $280 ea fitted balance and wheel align. seems like alot of money BUT you get what you pay for. Ive trialed cheap tyres in the past and they dont last as long and are much easier to puncture. Like to dig into sand a bit when on the beach but that comes with the aggressive tread. Besides Im not a fan of the beach anyway.

Good – Iv given my tyres a flogging chasing pigs around NT and never had a problem with cuts, chipping, punctures, or excessive wear. Done around 50,000km (mostly high speed on bitumen) but on dirt roads Iv found them to be very stable and stop my vehical skating around and are excellent under breaks. Off road the grip and side walls have pulled me… Read more

through some heavy muck. The down side I have to say is in sand, the tread pattern tends to dig you in but that is what mud tyres do.

I would recomend these tyres to serious off roaders who dont do to much sand work. Very strong tyre including side wall, excellent off road grip, dont seem to "aqua plane" like most tyres when hitting water at speeed, not too loud on road, good tyre life, well priced. They tend to bog down in sand (as do most muddys), can be slippery on slightly wet/greasy roads.

Excellent – I've been using Wrangler MTRs for approx' 10 years on 3 different vehicles ranging from long distance tourers to serious rock crawlers & they have performed well in all conditions encountered, simply the best tyre for the uses that I put it to. Good grip on wet rocky terrain, exellent in mud, still good in the sand. They don't like wet roundabouts, so I stay in the bush away from roundabouts.

Terrible – I cannot comment on these tyres being used on vehicles that carry light loads, but I would strongly recommend that Wrangler MTRs are not used by anyone who carries heavy loads. With heavy loads they constantly put the driver and passengers in life threatening situations. Reasonable in off road conditions. Very noisey and with the heavy loads we… Read more

carry in our Landcruiser utes they were found to be quite dangerous on the streets and highway. We only had these tyres on the rear wheels. The problem these tyres displayed actually made us think we had a serious bearing or suspension problem. As we went round corners, braked firmly or went over rises and drops on sealed or good gravel roads the vehicle would suddenly pull hard to the left or the right. We never new which way it was going to go. After spending close to $2000 on wheel alignments, suspension replacements and redoing the bearings, the tyres were all we had left to try. We thought the problem was most likrly the older Wrangler SilentArmours on the front wheels, but after replacing them with some old Bridgestone Desert Duellers the problem still existed. We replaced the Wrangler MTRs on the back wheels with the old Desert Duellers and everything was fine again. Just to make sure the Wrangler MTRs were the cause we put them on the rear wheels of another Lancruiser ute and the exact same problem occurred

Good – As these tyres were given to me brand new , I cant complain, but tyre wear seems to be better then expected. Anticipate another two to three years out of them by then it will be trade in time for another 4x4, and will problably go back to the same tyre or the new ATR tyre Very aggressive tread pattern, gives better than ex[ected traction on rutted… Read more

and loose rocky surfaces. Very surprised at how well they work in soft powdery sand providing the tyre pressures are down to 15psi, then they work well. Beach snd not a problem, they they do tend to bog down a bit if the momentum is not kept up not a gerat deal other then dreadful whine from these tyres on very smooth bitumen. On coarse bitumen the road noise is tolerable

Excellent – I got 60,000kms out of my last set with a lot of very serious tyre smoking rock crawling and other 4wheeling. I've just bought my second set of 33 x 12.50's. They've never had a puncture or been damaged apart from some minor block tearing. I've become so confident with them that I don't even worry what I drive over anymore and I only take my spare… Read more

with me on longer trips. Excellent performance as a serious off-road tyre. Almost indestructable. Super strong sidewalls. Look as tough as they are. Very noisey when well worn. (As with any mud tyre.)

Excellent – great tyres i love going bush on them, they give real confidence. I reccomend them to anyone looking for reliable tyres and are willing to service them properly I've had my set of 33x12.5 mtr's on for 3 years now, with regular rotation and carefull pressure choice(24&26 psi rear and front, car is 1.8t),they still have 6-8mm of tread left, this is… Read more

with a good mix of on and off road. They are quieter than most other mud tyres on the road, don't tear off lugs like mud terrians, they have lots of cuts and scratches but no punctures. They are a very good tyre all round. there a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. They seem to be a bit wider than 12.50" tyres, so i'll be getting them in 285/75x16" next time.
