converts to forward facing all the extra padding is taken out. Kind of defeats the purpose of paying the extra money for it. When forward facing the straps underneath the seat sometimes get caught up which means stops you being able to tighten the sashes. You have to put your hand in under to try and fix up the straps first which can get frustrating.

Good – IMPORTANT: Anyone who owns this seat please check the back padding. I rang Britax and they were very helpful and did agree that once the newborn padding has been removed there is little padding if none and also a piece of velcro under the fabric which sticks out(between the slots for the seatbelts). Britax sent me a piece of foam cut perfectly for the seat for under the material. Now I am very happy with the seat and my little boy is more comfortable, so I would recommend to everyone who has this seat to check it out, remove the velcro and ring for the foam insert, after all when they are young they can't tell us if they are uncomfortable! Good brand, nice looking, washable fabric, use from newborn to toddler After the newborn padding is taken out there is pretty much no padding for the toddlers backs, and also a nasty piece of velcro holding the material to the frame, which gave my little boy a red mark on his back, uncomfortable for long trips in the forward facing recline position.

Excellent – Love this Carseat we brought it nearly four years ago for our Daughter (she traveled great in it when we drove to Darwin from NSW) and it is now getting used for our 8 month old Son. them backward faceing until the are 12kgs(so around 12 months old)it was one of the deciding factors on why we brought it as well as that Safe-n-Sound has a great name for seats. nothing! The problem that a lot of people have compalined about i.e the strapes twisting happens with all carseats so I dont find it a problem.

It's so versatile. I love that it reclines when forward facing it makes long trips more comfy – I use this car seat for work with older children during the week and for my 3 month old on the weekends. between cars, and found that this was easy to lift in and out, sometimes with sleeping baby still strapped in.

Now with a toddler in the seat, having the handy storage on side of seat means that special toy or toys is always at hand, and the ones in the mat are great for wipes, spare nappy etc for those on the go trips.

I love this seat and am sorry to see toddler coming out of it, (could have used it longer but no 2 is due and needs the seat. Toddler will get another Safe and Sound seat as its a brand you can trust that has done its job well. *Great newborn to toddler seat.

*Well padded for newborn and ample padding for toddler. i left back padding in until toddler was well into second year.

*Sun shade great addition for living in sunny environment, catches sun that tinting doesn't.

*Higher than most seats. Tall near 3yr old toddler still fits in seat comfortable compared to other brand seats.

*Seat reclines easily for long trips. Or when child falls asleep in the car.

*seat protector is a blessing to keep those wet sometimes muddy shoes of the car seat.

it was handed onto her & my son went into a safe & sound explorer as he was only 2 & very small,now she has moved up to a bigger seat & my sister is using it for her baby. still in wonderful condition. easy washable cover & great with messymat. we are strong believers that you get what you pay for and we got a great product We liked this car seat as it suited from birth to toddler age. safe,easy to use. great brand. it looked comfortable especially with removeable padded baby insert. easy adjustable straps & insructions to convert to toddler seat. also the different recline postions are great. price seemed expensive,just a little bit of a shock for new time parents. sometimes the straps get a bit twisted but that is a minor problem once you work out how to fix it.

Good – We purchased ours around five years ago now and haven't regretted it. After two children it's still in good condition, has worn well and is still comfortable. there are better things on the market for this age group. Very plush and comfortable for a newborn, converts to a forward facing car seat. Straps twist around and safety rating is not the best once it's been moved to the forward facing position (although still quite good in the newborn position). Fairly expensive.

Excellent – Found them great, we had a Safe-n-sound Meridian for our first born but bought 2 safe-n-sound Royale's for our twins as they were slightly cheaper each than the Meridian (although not sure why). depending on their clothes, wonderful to be able to clip one strap in at a time. The dark blue and charcoal colours don't show the dirt, roomy enough to tuck a water bottle in beside them They seem very expensive compared to some other models (but I wanted our twins to be as safe as possible)

it has pockets for storage. It is also fairly simple to install. It is usually quite expensive but we managed to get it on sale at Baby on a Budget do it wasn't too bad for us. The straps have a habit of getting twisted which can be very annoying, especially when I'm in a hurry.

forward to using them for quite a few years to come. I loved the look of it, sturdy, soft, padded, comfortable and safe. It looked very comfortable and roomy. We also liked the idea of a newborn to toddler seat which we thought to be more economical. The padded newborn insert is also very good, keeps baby snug and comfortable with the padding.The pocket is also handy now that the seat is forward facing for his drink bottle. I think the only thing would be the straps, they are otfen twisted which is frustrating.

Excellent – I love this car seat. It is so padded and comfy for the child. It can be used backwards from newborn. It is well rated in the safety department. The fabric washes in the washing machine very well and looks like new again afterwards even when it did have a lot of milk stains on it. of the straps which is awkward to untangle. Very well padded. Easy to use. Easy to take out and re-install. Straps can get twisted easily and then become difficult to tighten until you straighten them all out again.

Good – great easy to use seat, love the little added extras but unless you know you going to have a small kid alittle pricey for the short amount of time you use it. This seat was really great, especially liked the reclining in forward facing position to make sleeping more comfortable for my son on long trips. This seat is suppose to be big enought for toddlers up to about 3 or 4 yrs but my son was out of it by 18 mths.

OK – A good looking and comfy seat with a couple of nice extras. Got very frustrated when the straps would get twisted - it's difficult to get them back straight again - but it's a minor down-side. Easy to install and to convert from rear facing to forward facing Straps get twisted easily in the buckle, bit tricky to get the cover off to wash, my son was out of it at 2 yrs

straps are easy to adjust. The colours are good and also the fabrics are washable. The straps do get twisted very easily and the release button can be very stiff to use.

jan 09. It is a very reliable seat . Very easy to use, did not mind paying more for a good well known brand. Nice luxious feel material, comes with mess mat..helps to prevent dents in your car's seats..etc. Great that its convertable and has new born insert.. Shoulder pads, crotch cover included. & sun hood.. Cover is easy to remove..to wash etc Not that it bothers me at all..as it happens raely. (If you put the starps on either side of the seat when not in use, instead of leaving them in the seat, this insures that they are ready to use each time the baby or child go into the car.) simple as that!.
