Volkswagen Caravelle

Perfect for Family Daycare!! – Great size for family daycare, having the 9 seats makes it a perfect size.. I use it daily carrying up to 7 children. The car gets its services when they are needed.. The only thing I’d change would be the carpets on the floor, as we all know what children are like..
Purchased in at Volkswagen Dealers.

Love my 2008 Caravelle Auto 9 Seater Diesel – I recently bought my 2008 Caravelle Auto LWB and am absolutely loving it. It had 170,000 on the clock when I got it and paid $18.000 This is my first Caravelle and the most expensive car I have purchased, so I was a little worried but knew the size and seating capacity was what I needed. With a young family, sliding doors are the way forward. No more worries about banging their door into the car next door. So far reliability has been good. However, I understand that repair bills will be higher than normal and am prepared for it. It took a while to get used to its size, but the seating position and handling, I can not fault. The captains chairs give you a sense of luxury and the kids love the roof mounted DVD in the back. I haven't yet tried to take the seats out but love the fact I have this flexibility. This has definitely given me the bug for this kind of car and I look forward to using it as the family car for many years to come.

Comfortable but Costly – I have owned several brand new VW s , a 2000 Caravelle and a 2007 Multivan in particular are worth some advice to anyone considering owning one. So The Caravelle, big thing transmission failure at 80k, but also steering locking up, locking the transmission, a week or so old. ( At Christmas ) TDI Turbo had a coronary, required a full rebuild. Use fuel cleaner all the time !! VW insisted on changing the timing belt regularly, they fail and ruin the engine. First at 20k very expensive made me pay. The brakes wear out very quickly, require new rotors, you can get Brembos cheaper than VW original same component . Parts left off at service. Air con Failure, couldn't fix the pollen filter. Lots of other things.
Why did I buy a new multi van, am an enthusiast, or was !! This one all out , sun roof Sat Nav. going to be my long term ride. So .. Side door fell off on a slight hill when opened. ( common ) Sat nav failed 2 months to fix. Terrible service ( common ) side window mechanism fell apart. Cloth in back de laminated, Transmissions also failing early, Writing on the wall sold at 50km. replaced with a less comfortable but totally reliable Toyota. Unless you have very deep pockets , enjoy poor service , see some advantage in eccentricity I would avoid these on the face of it great but in reality very poor and expensive products.
