well it works so my overall rating would have to be a 1 for poor. 5 years of everyday use and my hair is in such good condition that other friends who also use irons find it hard to believe I use it daily. The plates are smooth and don't pull on your hair at all. This is truly the best birthday present I have ever bought for myself, until it caught fire while i wa using it! The cord caught fire where it attaches to the straightner while i was using it! My dressing gown sleeve caught fire and luckily I was able to remove it before my wrist and arm was burnt. Having read other reviews, this seems to be a common occurance with this product particularly after a couple of years which is a concern. There also doesn't seem to be much help from suppliers of the iron or the manufacturer when you confront them with the fault.

Good – Love it, good product, wish it lasted longer - but I guess everything is so disposable these days. Little on the expensive side but does work well!! night and it wouldnt heat up. I was HIGHLY disappointed, as its an awesome straightner. I paid $180 bucks for it which is not far off the highly rated GHD which I am buying next. I would recommend it to anyone but would be weary as this seems to be a common problem!!! It stopped working

Excellent – I have had the Turbo Ion for many years.. I have thick, course hair and the shiny ceramic plate gets rid of the frizz leaving a very straight & smooth finish. I also have the GHD MK4 & without a doubt the Turbo Ion wins hands down!!! OK – would not want to spend money on something like this again if i knew this was going to happen, especially when there is a few reviews regarding the same problem...i wonder where we could return and get new ones as i think mine is still under warranty It straightens really well. i have only had it for under a year and the cord blew up while i was trying to straighten my hair couple of nights ago.

Good – a good straightener and its not that much for what its worth. Excellent – Best straightener money can buy It's straightens like nothing I have seen before. My best friend has really curly hair and it works a breeze!! Ignore the comments which say that the iron blew up!! Models 10230 and 13320 have been taken back becuse of electrical faults!

Bad – I really like this straightener however I'm not sure if I'll buy another one. straightener for about 16months,in the last week it wasn't heating up very well and then this morning I turned it on and it blew up - sparks flew out where the cord joins to the straightener. Dissapointing to pay so much and for it not to last.

Excellent – I recently went to my hairdresser complaining that straightening irons don't work on my hair. She set out to prove me wrong with the Turbo Ion.
