Ok – It was comfortable to use. I used this machine often and it did its job without too much of a problem. It is not that easy to clean and maintain as there are too many parts that make up this pump. I don’t know if I will use this product again because the power of the vacuum seems to have decreased overtime.

No suction – Might just be my breasts are too large (g cup) but the suction was too light, any milk I did pump leaked out near my boobs and not into the bottle. Lack of suction meant I didn’t get a good letdown like I do with my avent pump. Bought when my other pump had a broken part that needed replacing and I was desperate. Wish I’d saved my money.

Hand me the dumbbells – So have you got all the energy in the world? No? Just had a bub and need to quickly express? Do NOT buy this pump! One hour later and im still pumping while juggling between the latch and the pressure cap popping pff every 10 seconds! Do yourself a favor and buy an electric pump.

Terrible – Do not waste your money. This pump is cheap and very poorly made.. It is not worth the headaches and it is easier to squuze the milk out of your breasts into a bottle and probably quicker.. There is nothing I like about this pump. It also spills a rediculous amount out of the bottle and I would have to use it naked otherwise my clothes from top to… Read more

tow would end up soaked. It would also spray out the top and sides with each pump. I have alot of milk and this pump was just a joke.. I have just used it for the last time and it will be finding a new home in my rubbish bin.. I've ordered the medela swing pump.. The bottles that came with were a nice size and fit well This pump is horrible. It works quite averagely in the beginning than quickly gets worse and worse... It ended up being faster to hand squeeze the milk into the bottle as it would take soOooOOooo long. I had an absolute explosion of milk and when my son started sleeping through I would have to express some milk from my breasts as I would otherwise end up in a soaking puddle.. This pump was and is so frustrating.

Excellent – I would not hesitate to recommend this pump. If you were pumping full time I guess you'd be better off going electric with any brand, however for storing milk for nights out or cereal (in my case) this is perfect. As a breast pump novice, I had it put together in 2 mins after sterilizing (4 mins + 3 to cool down) and pumped 50ml for tomorrow's use… Read more

in 5mins as well. Very gentle on nipples and breast tissue, quiet and comes with a basic set of everything you need - 2 60ml storage pots, closer to nature bottle and storage lid for bottle. Extra lids for the bottles and other closer to nature products are readily available in most baby shops and I've never heard a complaint about this range of bottles. Nice to have a pump that matches and us so easy to use! Easy to assemble and use, cost effective. A nice, simple product that I will be able to use everyday without complications. The sterilizing container doubles as storage - compact so would travel well also. Quality at a much lower price than similar products of other brands. When you first assemble the pump, give the valve a rub between your fingers to ensure the split is open otherwise your milk will not end up in the bottle. Apparently this is s common problem but when I gave it a few squeezes in each direction it opened up without any further issues.

Excellent – Very effective - I was going to hire a Medela Symphony pump like what I used in hospital to help get my milk supply up when I came home. I gave this hand pump a go first and was amazed by how well it worked. I didn't need to hire the electric pump after all and found twice daily expressing with this pump not to be a chore. Very happy with the… Read more

product and can live with the Cons. Very easy to wash and assemble. Comes with its own microwave steriliser / storage container. Has two adapters to fit different bottles. Comes with little bottle, teat, teat cover and screw lid plus spare filter piece. Affordable at approx $85. Takes a number of pumps (maybe a minute's worth) before milk starts to come through to the container. When you remove the pump from your breast, you need to have a cloth or tissue to catch the leaks / drips. If transferring milk to other containers for storage, its hard to get the last bit out of the Tommee Tippe bottle. You have to keep leaning forward to get the milk to spurt into the container.

This is is good – when i 1st started using this pump it seemed not to be working at all. so i went and bought another pump. however i went back to it and sort of started doing things right. i got good suction, let down reflexes, in fact i started loving it. i guess the challenge with this pump is using it correctly. once you can its great. it gave me good suction leading to let down reflexes

Great for occassional use – This pump was very comfortable to use. I do like the tommee tippee bottles and you can pump straight into the bottle. Unfortunately I found that it does hurt your hand if you are pumping for too long and its not really suitable if you need to express more than once a day has my wrist got sore so we bought an electric pump only after couple of uses. Comfortable Hurts your hand from pumping

It's fine – I exclusively give expressed breast milk. I have a Medela swing for use at home but it is very noisy. I needed a breast pump to take with me when I went out. It does the job, my daughter uses Tommee Tippee bottles so I don't have to bother with pouring. Quiet, goes with the bottles, it doesn't have too many pieces, inexpensive, it doesn't fall… Read more

Very little suction – I bought this pump because my daughter prefers the tommee tippee bottles and I though it would be easier to use the corresponding pump. But the pump is terrible. It takes at least twice as long as the Avent pump I have been using. There is very little suction and the milk tends to drip back toward the nipple, instead of into the bottle.

Waste of money! – When I first started using this pump I thought that I was doing things wrong, so i checked the fitting and everything was fine. I pumped for about 30mins and literally got 5mls or less!!. I tried to do it everyday but still no difference so I've just stopped using it all together. To be honest, hand expressing is way better than using this. Waste of money, not recommended

Go and buy an Avent one instead! – Forgot my pump when visiting my parents for a few days, so went to buy a new one. Appalled by the cost of them, especially this one when I realised how unhelpful it was. $90 and it's literally easier to express milk by hand. So disappointed.

Expected better - don't bother with this one – Quite a hassle to assemble and disassemble. OK it is not rocket science but when you are doing it a few times a day you'll wish the rocket scientists had been on the R&D team to make it simpler. It is not a one handed job to express like is says on the box. We found the suction cap keeps popping off so you need to hold that on. It was a similar… Read more

price to the others onthe shelf but they are all stupidly priced for a few bits of plastic with 18th century technology.. it's a pump, no more no less but put the word "baby " with is and all of sudden it is hi-tech.. not a lot - wife says the fit is good and is comfortable for medium size boobs Fiddly to assemble, suction caps pops off, cannot see if milk is flowing

Waste of money!!1 – I thought it was great but then it only worked twice which is really disappointing when i spent $100 on it and it is very basic compared to what is on the market. Cleaning is horrible as you can't pull it apart. so now I have to go out and buy another pump only worked twice, expensive

Just ok – This pump has a good shape and fits nicely in the hand for manual pumping. However, there is no option to change the breast shield size so I found it too small and very painful. Others may not have this problem. Also, he main head on the pump doesn't dismantle. This means it's very easy to put together and use but you have to be very very… Read more

careful to clean and dry it properly.

This pump is ok for occasional use but that's it. I would reccomend ensuring you buy it on sale as it's definately not worth the $60+ that some retailers are selling it for!! Shape No option to change breast shield size. Hard to clean.

Good basic pump; beware the cleaning – Nice & gentle in the early days on sore nipples. I never managed to get more than 60mL but I've never tried a different pump so I'm not sure if that's me or the pump. Good customer service - when I emailed them about the cleaning issue (see next bit), they sent me a replacement part straight away, no charge. I'd been using this for a few months… Read more

before I looked really closely at it (ie have precious frozen milk collected gradually but not yet used) & was horrified to find a collection of scunge and mold between the clear concertina & the white plastic disc. This can't be dismantled so I'm not sure how it's meant to be cleaned effectively. I'll be getting in there somehow from now on. And I've decided to throw out the frozen milk as it may have contacted the mold during collection. Gentle, easy use, good customer service Make sure you check all the nooks & crannies when cleaning, even if the instructions don't indicate this.

Ouch! – Whilst it does work, as in milk did come out, I found that even with the slightest compression it sucked only my nipple into the shield and none of the areola. This made it painful quickly. Also, it was very messy due to the cup poorly fitting around the breast so milk leaked out. Sometimes more leaked out than went into the bottle! Inexpensive, came with handy sterilizer/storage box Bad suction style, bad fit to breast

Gentle on the breast – I found this pump is more gentle than some other manual pumps. I have a good supply so find it easy to express with anything but at the beginning whilst nipples are being 'conditioned' I find this pump particularly gentle. I also have an Avent manual which is a little quicker but not so gentle. i use this one of a morning if bubs hasn't feed… Read more

much over night as I will have a large supply and need the gentle pumping action.

It is extremely easy to clean and comes with its own container to sterlise in the microwave. It isn't bulky so doesn't take up a large amount of space in our kitchen cupboards and again for storage between babies. I think this is value for money as it is very inexpensive. Inexpensive, easy to use, gentle, easy to clean, comes with compact container

Adequate but not good – This is really a base-level pump. I have it on hand as my backup but would hate to use it with any regularity. Hurts my nipples with its drawing action. Terrible terrible terrible – I bought this pump as it was the cheapest & the lady in the baby shop said manual pumps are mostly all the same- this was a waste of money. Great pump, does the job – This pump is excellent! I expressed milk several times a day in the first 4 weeks until my baby learned how to feed properly and this pump was fantastic. I bought the electric pump first but found that to be too painful on cracked nipples. This pump let's you go as slowly or as quickly as you need to. Love, love, love it. Awesome value for the price easy to use, easy to clean and really inexpensive The plastic starts to yellow after a while

It doesnt work! – I bought this pump because the Avent one broke after a few months of use. But I found this pump is very disappointing because its so hard to use. Avent is far more better ( I havent use any of the electric pump so far the Avent manual pump is a lot better) Its very hard to use and doesnt work.

good reliable pump – Considering the price of breast pumps this has to be one of the better manual pumps as i picked it up at a chemist onsale for $70. It is good and reliable and you can use a variety of bottles as it comes with an attachment for big and small bottles. Is quick and easy to clean nice and small could be cheaper

Good – i think mothers should be made aware that the valve already in the pump does not have the necessary slit to allow the milk into the bottle. I know this is a fault of more than just my pump as I've spoken to a close friend that ordered her pump off the internet (mine was purchased at Target) and hers was the same. Luckily for her, she didn't have… Read more ·  1

to go through the frustrating process I had to, to find why the pump wasn't working properly. However now fitted with working valve the pump works really well and I find as good if not better than my previous Avent pump. The breast pump feels natural and easy to use. The valve sold with the pump failed to have a small incision, therefore frustating me on 1st trial. There was milk pouring out each time I pulled the pump away to see why the milk wasn't making it into the bottle. It wasn't until my husband looked at the spare valve that we realised the problem.

Great manual pump – Nearly as quick as a elect pump. Came with steriliser box, bottle and storage containers. Easy to use and clean. Can only do one breast at time but pretty quick. Great for combine feeding or bringing up milk supply. Economical, easy to use. Can only do one side at a time.

Terrible – If you are going to use this a lot-save your money and get a better brand. This pump is cheap and poor quality. It was so frustrating to use something that was so fiddly and didn't work properly. I was also really disappointed that it was definitely NOT 3 parts! If you only use it, maybe once or twice a week it might be okay. You probably… Read more

wouldn't realise how cheap it is until you try a better brand. It worked well in the beginning. I liked the bottles that matched. It is not only 3 parts! You have to take the pump completely apart to get it thoroughly clean and there are far more than 3 parts involved in that. The threads that the bottles screw into broke, luckily it came with another size for non-Tomee Tippee bottles and I used that with a different brand until that broke as well. Was made with cheap materials and the suction was not as good after a bit of use.

Good Value – As a 1st time mum i wanted a pump that was easy to use and good value, the freedom pump was it. It also came with extras including 2boxes of breast pads. The pump was very comfortable and i could walk around and do other things with the 1 free hand. Very happy with this pump would recommend to all. Comfortable, good value and manual no electricity required :) I did melt the handle very early on but it still worked.

Melted in the microwave – After 5 days of use the handle and top of the pump melted in the microwave. The water was measured to directions to ensure it was properly sterilised. I'm going to return it for a refund tomorrow. I'm concerned of the quality of the plastic and the effect it may have had on my baby. A worry!

Does the job somewhat – I found this pump good enough for what I bought it for. Babies are definitely the most effective at milk extraction but I found if you expressed before a feed with this pump I got quite a decent amount. It comes in handy for expressing milk to mix with rice cereal and to relieve engorgement when bub decides to sleep for longer periods overnight.… Read more

easy to clean, can go at your own pace, good fit for the lovely tommee tippee bottles if you needed a pump for expressing large volumes you would definitely need an electric pump instead.

Excellent – I found the pump to be easy to use and clean apart from having to replace the little nozzle because it wasn't suctioning tight enough and therefore wasn't pumping much milk out but it came with 2 anyway :) easy to use, could go at your own pace as it's not electric :) the suction wasn't quite tight enough

Regret buying the cheapest pump! – Number one - does it work? Not very well. It is very slow, even during a let down the milk drips out, the suction is not effective. The design of the pump means you can't see if any milk is coming out without taking the pump off your breast and dripping milk everywhere. Or enlist a second person to monitor the milk - not exactly practical! The… Read more

actual rubber pump part isn't able to pump freely due to the design of the handle.

Second - cleaning. The rubber pump part inside the handle is very hard to clean. After rinsing it out or sterilising, there is no way for the water to escape, which must be unhygenic. To aid cleaning you can take the handle apart further, it isn't clear from the instructions whether you're supposed to do this or not, but it's quite awkward, and hard to put back together again.

Third - comfort. This won't apply to everyone, but I found this pump to be quite uncomfortable. Came with a steriliser box, comes with milk pots you can express directly into. Slow, ineffective, impossible to monitor amount of milk coming out as you pump, hard to clean and dry.

Good – This is a nice manual breast pump however if I had of known how much I was going to need to pump (my milk did not come in, in abundance so I was advised to pump 10 mins after each feed) I would have brought an electric breast pump. Bad – I got this pump yesterday on sale but regret purchasing it. The parts feel very flimsy and suction was quite weak so there was very little milk collected in the bottle for me. Excellent – I loved this pump. I did not find I had any of the problems others on this site have experienced with this pump. It was so quick to use, and easy to assemble, especially for a sleep deprived new parent. I would recommend this to anyone. Easy to use. Portable. DOes not require batteries or plugging in. Felt very 'natural to use" Not completely quiet. Hand gets tired after a while.
