Soniq DVB12

Good – Well it is good value. I wish it would work though. It is a disappointment that it wont function the way i wish it too. Well i did get some good quality picture. It gave me some more channels even though i dont watch them. It was $60 at JBHIFI. Well there are supposed to be more than 57 channels and most of them fail when i try and receive them.

Terrible – I went out and bought 3 of these boxes. It is now 18 months down the track and not one works anymore They most certainly were not abused. My last one in the house spat the dummy last night. Mmm! Not the best. Price, sales person recommendation, and it could do a lot. Compared to other boxes of similar price and quality that I have in my home this product should be on the $29.00 rack not the $80+.

Good – Bought this for $79 at JB Hifi. Not a bad price for this STB. Recommend it for budget buyers. I use the Soniq DVB16 'Qmedia' Good quality and clarity. I can use my indoor desktop antenna, even though they said its 'impossible' to get a signal out of anything remotely different to a new roof-mounted one. Averages 44% Signal Strength on desktop antenna, considerably higher on the roof-mounted one. I guess not having a reset button is annoying. Slightly annoying in terms of organising of programs.

Good – I have had this unit for about 5 weeks now but for some reason it has now decided to freeze on Channel 9 (Adelaide) All other stations are OK. Will try and re-set it back to factory default and start again. The thought of going through setting it up again will be a pain. If I can fix the problem then Overall, it is a great STB for the best price. I got mine from JB as well. Good picture

Good – For the price, this unit definitely exceeded my expectations. It's functionality, performance and basic ease of use, far outway some of its more expensive competitors. This unit comes highly recomended. This unit is very reasonably priced for its features. We currently live in TV signal shadow and find it hard to pick up stations on normal analogue TV. Plug in this little beauty and you picture perfect TV reception (including digital radio). The unit's remote is very simple and easy to use and the internal clock automatically updates itself. I can only find two issues with this unit:-

1 - The instruction manual is a little hard to understand

2 - The TV station numbering is not conventional. If you want channel 7 for say on 7 then it is a long drawn out process to get all channels to align to thei correct numbers.
