do not buy this model – we have had this machine for not even 2 years ,firstly it had a major error when it was delivered which meant we could not wash without starting it ever 2 minutes. Then after a very long and heated conversation with the manufacturer they replaced it, but it has been repaired twice now ,I am very sorry we choose this machine it is a lemon..

Terrible – I recieved this model as a replacment when my first simpson machine which died on extended warranty 9the repairs got to a point where is was cheaper for extended warranty to replace)...both this and the older verison have had seals and timers replaced all before their first birthday.New version is less than 2yrs old and had 2 timers replaced and… Read more

in a new twist the "glass" in the door as come out - literally fell in onto my washing.

Electrolux staff have been quick to pass the blame to everyone else for the trouble with both machines and very very slow to help out

Would never buy a simpson again - no else i know has had so many problems with brand new washing machines not sure if there is anything i like Nothing but trouble!!

Terrible – Received this machine as a replacement for their 708 model which stopped working within 12 months (had constant problems with it from about 6 months and had a tech out to replace pcb board and door switches repeatedly before I demanded a replacement) Within 6 months this machine also displayed the same problems, the door jamming shut after a load… Read more

and not opening, the machine leaving marks on clothes, and then finally after having the door switches replaced again, the door jamming shut again, being told it was actually a pcb board problem yet again and the machine just stopped working altogether. I demanded a replacement with a machine containing a different style pcb board or refund. Took over 4 weeks of me constantly phoning them to finally get some satisfaction. Will never again buy simpson or machine related with simpson (electrolux/fisher and paykel all under the same company banner) not alot nice to say about this machine. Electrolux support staff were friendly. Spoke to lots and lots of them left brown marks on clothes, the door got stuck closed, the machine stopped working altogether within 6 months (two machines in a row)

Nothing but trouble-free washing - Can't fault it! – I can't believe all these bad reviews. We bought this washer in Jan 2008 and it's been fantastic - never had a spot of bother with it. I'm shocked to see all these people having problems. I only found this search as I'm moving oveseas and wanted to sell the machine. I'm gobsmacked to see this. I guess if you are having no problems with a… Read more ·  1

product you don't always feel as compelled to write a review as you would if you had problems and you just happily get on with life. So I'm wondering if the reviews are one-sided and you don't get to hear from the people who are immensely happy with their product.

Yes it takes a long time - that's front loaders for you. They actually wash the clothes properly and in a gentle manner! (as opposed to the quick swish around that top loaders do, wrecking the clothes in the process). lots of features setings & programmes - love it!

Terrible – Not happy. I really hope the waranty covers the problem - perhaps then my attitude will change. Surely it's just a sensor? I've persisted with the thing because we need clean clothes and it does work without incident sometimes... but I have to supervise it when it gets near a spin cycle and manually hit pause and then restart until it manages… Read more

to balance out the load. I'm too frightened to turn the machine on and leave the house in case I come home to find that it's vibrated out from the wall so much that it's pulled the outlet pipe out of the drain or ripped itself off the taps and floods the place.

We're struggling first home owners. Our 15 year old Admiral (Hoover) top-loader was a freebie from our previous neighbours. It was stained, ugly, noisy and a water guzzler, but it washed well, was reliable and got us through our first 6 months here. We have had to save-up to upgrade to this model and it's really disappointing to have problems from the moment we bought it home - I certainly expected better out of a Simpson machine. Compact by comparison to previous 7kg top-loader, motor is quiet. We've had the machine for 3 weeks and have had trouble with it since the first wash. It keeps vibrating out of control on spin cycles- just won't balance the load properly and won't auto-stop itself all the time when the load is unbalanced. I have installed it per the manufacturers instructions and all the transit bolts are definitely out. I've tried different size washes with varying success.

Not having owned a front-loader before, I first thought the problem may have been with the operators putting too much or two little in at a time. In case this was the problem, I have contacted Simpson Customer Care and described the problem. They later emailed me back (rather than call) saying "We're sorry to hear you're having problems with your machine, we suggest you contact your local Electrolux Service Agent." Very helpful, NOT.

I've contacted the store who sold us the machine (well-know large electrical franchise group) who did not want to know about the problem and directed us to the local service agent. I've spoken with the service agent and will now have to take time off work so he can come and look at it. I'm guessing even if they do fix the machine under waranty, no one will compensate us for repairing the plaster in the laundry where it bounced into the wall during the first load.

Have also noted that it doesn't matter how little powder you put in it (yes, we use front loader powder), even if you select the "extra rinse" mode (which partly negates the water conservation factor in having a front loader) with few items in the machine, they can still come out with some soap left in them.

Also, the "quick wash" is hardly what I'd call quick by comparison to our old top loader, which even on a 16 min wash program was super fast by comparison.

Great washing machine – The clothes are clean, completely lint free, spun dry very well even on the 700 setting. Can't fault the machine but must admit it is getting a little louder but still can't here it once laundry door is closed. Never had a problem with any of my Simpson washing machines. My record with old Simpsons top loader lasted 20 years without breakdowns… Read more

or service. I would only ever purchase Simpson washing machines. water efficiency especially important when your on tank water starting to get a little noisy but then my husband hasn't noticed this.

Bad – Great machine when it works, shame about the bearings. My experience with this front loader has scared me off front loaders for good! Lovely people at electrolux service center are replacing it with a simpson top loader for a little extra $$ - happy about that i purchased this product because i thught it was a nice, compact, water saving machine,… Read more

supposed to be gentle on clothes. Great when it worked! First one lasted 3 months then the bearings went on it. Lovely technician came out and organised a replacement - sorted with in a week. second machine lasted over a year - then same hideous noise, another lovely technician came out- and yep - bearings had gone in this one too!

OK – Overall a good little machine disappointing it broken 2 weeks out the original Electrolux warranty. Waiting for the warranty service people to come out to fix the machine Seems like a good machine worked fine for the first 2 years. clothes come out clean I’m waiting for the service people from the extended warranty to come out and repair the… Read more

machine, it has decided to throw the counter weight tearing the rubber liner around the door and dinting the outside. It made a hell of noise and left the clothes smelling burnt. The washes takes a long time to wash but i think that just front loaders.

Terrible – LG is a far better machine for value. Never touch a Simpson again. Very poor quality and poor value for money. Saves water compared to our old top loader. Valuable in that way since we live out in the countryside and rely on tank water. Spins the clothes out fast enought. Nothing but trouble with it. Bounced all over the place, ended up one day… Read more

burning the seal out in the front door. Because we live so far out in the country had to take it to the service centre ourselves and they weigh a tonne?. Same problem again after they fixed it. Sensor went in it a couple of months later had to do a repeat and take it back. No good when you rely on it for a family of six. Came back dented and paintwork scratched. Did get a $100 out of the commpay addmittedly for it.
