Destroyed my life – wish i could give this 0 stars it is so bad. It has drained the life out of me.. Reliable washer, incomprehensible user interface, terrible drier – I have owned the WD-1438RD for about 5 years and I have to say it is the worst washing machine I have ever used. Mine is reliable - it has never broken down (touch wood). It has never damaged my clothes or other items. Trying to do something non-standard (such as a spin cycle) requires consultation with the manual. The manual is incomprehensible in parts.

The drier is abominable. It does not work. It is an ex-drier. It is pining for the fjords. The clothes go round and round for a long time but they never get any drier.

I haven't bought an LG product after buying this washer / drier. Reliable, does not damage clothes Everything else, diabolically complex user interface, drier doesn't work

The dryer is terrible – I would not recommend it to anyone at all. It doesnt take more than fifty words to describe it. It is a heap of junk. I do not know what else I can say. It is too noisy and sounds like a tractor in the house. etc etc etc etc Nothing Everything

All I can say is LG make some great products but the LG WD-1438RD is an over priced POS!!! dont buy! – Dryer does not work, makes the clothes warm but still wet. Washer works some times when it wants.. Should have bought seperate washer and dryer and gone on a holiday with the change.. All my other LG products are great. expensive, useless for the features listed, works sometimes..

Absolute rubbish – Broke down 4 times during warranty, mercifully. Alas, another 4 times after that, at around $300 a throw. This is for a machine that just does one person's washing. gone again today-for the third time in four years, just before Christmas. LG - Never again Great on the occasions it was actually working. Apart from the industrial noise. And electricity bills. VERY expensive to repeatedly repair. Extremely difficult for me to take time off work. for endless repairs.

Can't Dry – Can someone please advise how to dry clothes in this machine? Washing ok - but I cannot get it to dry either on it's own cycle or after the wash cycle has completed. Terrible – It is of no value as dryer is no good so you really have to buy a new dryer to be able to do what you used to do, like dry clothes in reasonable time, add for short while to dry off. The price was ok as last one of its kind. The dryer doesn't work. It even has to spin for 20 mins before even starts to pretend to dry.

OK – Very happy with this washing machine,does its job,as my place is a rental property on Avona avenue,Glebe and comes with this unit. I think it's good just to wash your clothes,saves on water and end result was really clean. The drying takes hours and is no way as good as a stand alone dryer.I've only used once to dry my wash but the result was disappointing. Better to hang up your laundry after wash.

Faultless as a washing machine, not perfect as a dryer – We have had this washing machine for 5 years and haven't had a problem with it. As a washing machine it washes and spins very well, taking good care of my clothes. Great options for different cycles. alone one, as it creases the clothes and takes a while. Great if you have limited room though or don't use a dryer often. Very energy and water efficient too, very happy. Terrible – Had it for a while, and while it gets along most of the time, the dryer that we paid for is useless, and now the front buttons don't work half the time! Does wash, and fairly well Bugs up, does not dry, expensive!

Terrible – Our LG washer dryer has broken down on average every 2 months and we've only had it for a year! The customer service is a joke - I am seriously thinking about calling fair trading in my state and lodging an official complaint! Customer services keeps looping comments to me like 'well sir - according to our records...'.

My mission is to tell as many people as possible my experience and hopefully they don't make the same mistakes we made...After all it's not slander if we're speaking from our own experiences - all up we've been without a washing machine for 3 weeks this stint and all up I'm guessing anywhere between 6-10 weeks without a washing machine/dryer we paid good money for. The model is WD-11438RD. Please - if I tell 10 people and everyone who reads this tells 10 people LG mights sit up and take notice!

Seriously what a joke! When it works it works.... It NEVER works - Multiple breakdowns - Useless customer service! Do not buy this product!!!

OK – As a water saver it is very good washing is very clean. The dryer needs a lot of improvement and where are the water savings feature with this as it uses water to run the dryer????? spin cycle. I like the water saving features of this washing machine. Washing cycles take far too long and the drier is even worse seems to take hours to dry a load.

Bad – Frustrating, especially when a 38 minute quick cycle takes over 1 and a half hours. If it decides not to spin, it turns off after about 5 minutes the you have to rinse and spin for over 20 minutes minimum. Washes clothes very well Takes forever. not. Dryer does not work unless the spin cycle is turned off (not in the manual). Only found out when the service man came out to fix it and laughed saying it was good for his business.

Bad – Because the dryer does not work, it would have been more cost effective to buy a standalone washing machine without the built in dryer. The dryer can take up to 4 hours and at the end it is still wet. It looks like the dryer option wets the clothes before it tries to dry (weird). Good – Overall a good buy, have been generally happy with it. What i am most unhappy about is the child lock. If you press the power button, even with the child lock on, the machine will turn off... very annoying especially when my toddler decides to press the button mid cycle, and i have to start the cycle all over again! oversight or if there is a reason for it. But doesn't seem much point in having a child lock, unless it works properly! Also, sometimes the machine comes up with an uneven load warning, especially when i wash towels... in this instance i sometimes have to restart the spin cycle a few times before it works. Plenty of different cycles and temperature settings to choose from, washer/dryer combo has been handy for when there are rainy days Dryer takes forever to dry clothes, child lock has not been designed properly (see comments below), does not spin very well on 30min quick cycle (ie clothes come out drenched).
