Pros: Image, videos, small, light, quality pictures.

Cons: Featured, yet very basic in functionality.

Overall: The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX12 uses a high quality lens for taking photos, which makes a difference in getting a clear image. However, the processor is a little slow and the lack of functionality makes you sometimes wish you purchase something a little more. It contains all the basic features for point and shoot cameras; zoom, flash, colours, sharpness, brightness, etc. But when you want to fine tune your images to certain focuses or you want to custom set the length of time the shutter remains open, and other various things you may find you need, the FX12 is unable to fully deliver. But when does have the feature you need, it delivers. Just make sure you're always steady as generally there will be a good shot, but a times, due to slow processor, you may get that blurry shot you didn't want. Video recording is VCD quality with a decent microphone sensitivity. The only problem I had was lack of zoom while recording which made recording a little difficult and annoying at times when you want to capture certain moments in a certain way. Nonetheless, the FX12 provides lots of simple features and easy to use functions for beginners and more experienced users, but looking at its price compared to other cameras with more functionality, the FX12 should be a back up alternative rather than what you look for.

Pros: light and slim. easy to carry around. takes nice pictures. has video mode.

Cons: its a little expencive compared to other simular products

Overall: i like this camera because it is extremly easy to use and takes a reasonably good picture. very suitable for people who just want to use it for basic photo taking. however if you are more of a creative type and wish to give your photos a professional look there are definatly more suitable alternatives that are only a little bit more expencive.
