Bad Design (2018 Model Supreme Territory Offroad) – I collected my Supreme Territory on Friday the 11th Jan 2019 and immediately drove it about 400km on sealed roads to home. Faults / problems so far are: 1) During the drive one of the LED reading lamps fell apart and was dangling on the wall on arrival. 2) I went to open the left hand top cupboard in the shower area and it opened onto the… Read more
window frame, so I only had about two inches of opening and the cupboard was unusable.
3) I went to open the front left outside storage area (being metal box on the front of the Territory) and it would not open as it is hinged and hits the stone guard immediately (the stone guard has to be removed completely every time you go to use that storage area, very inconventient).
4) The foam section provided to convert the dining table into a third bed is not secured in any way and amost immediatelty falls off the table as soon as you move leaving a massive hole in your "bed".
5) The outdoor fold down table that is mounted to the outside of the caravan is very flimsy.
I wrote to Supreme Caravans asking for remedy and have had no response. I went back to the dealer and they gave me a replacement LED reading light and promised to call with the name of an agent to install it, but have heard nothing. On a $75K caravan, this kind of design issues is unacceptable.
On the plus side:
1) The amount of internal storage is excellent (even with the unusable cupboard), both inside and outside.
2) The fridge and freezer are huge.
3) Water storage is excellent (two tanks).
4) Very good quality matresses on the beds.
5) Good shower pressure and good hot water system.
6) Chassis seems very strong, but having not taken it off road yet I'll reserve judgement on that one.
Van is good Service and Warranty are pathetic – Our Territory was one of the last built in 2015, I reckon they finished it in a hurry, Christmas break was getting too close. On hand over lots of things contracted were not done and it was not detailed. We have had some minor issues which have turned out to be like extracting teeth, monetary value under $800. It seems that most in the caravan… Read more
industry hate to honor warranty repairs and after sales service is a dirty word. The van itself is good, tows well, although the dining seats are too low for the table (we need to sit on pillows) and the table is too long and wide (hard to get in and out). Lost our good water when the drain tap snapped off, it was suppose to be covered but wasn't. Sorry we didn't get diesel hot water along with the wonderful diesel heater. The shower and toilet are easy to use. The special ordered Weber BBQ box wasn't big enough, we have been compensated for it. Doona covers were made of curtain material, so ugly. Would have been nice to know that the window size changed because we asked for single beds. The suspension cut out one tyre, not aligned correctly before leaving factory, our fault apparently. We have travelled about 7,000km since getting the van in Jan 2016, been fun except for the lack of customer service.
The best Van we have owned but the next one will have a unsuit – We bought our Pop Top Territory with the heavy simplicity suspension new in 2010 with the lift up bunk bed which we use as a huge Cub lounge area now our 3 adult children are not going with us much we have found it a great Van we can not comment on after sales service because it has been faultless it is heavy but very strong we would trade it on another territory but this time with a unsuit.
Extremely bad after sales service – We purchased our van 4 years ago for $120,00.00 very expensive van back then, we have had many problems, some fixed by supreme (after they would have the van sitting in their yard for months), or us, one ongoing problem with a leaking shower that they have tried unsuccessfully to fix since we picked the van up, has now resulted in a rotted floor,… Read more
we have been trying to get someone to speak to us since Christmas, no return calls, no communication at all! Finally today my partner demanded to speak to someone, no not interested in your problem, out of warranty, not our problem, won't even look at the van! They are too busy selling vans, there are not and never have been interested in after sales service, be warned your warranty lasts 1 year, so if you want any back up service or help after that, don't purchase supreme, even Jayco,at half the price has much better service, Haylen vans, much better service, there are so many new and exciting caravan producers out there now, look around get advice, ask people with older Supreme vans, bet you don't get many good reviews.
After sales service rubbish – I bought a supreme territory two years old. The first problem was the rubbers on the slide out, tried to talk to supreme no one wanted to know about it. The van is now four years old and the leather upholstery in the cafe lounge is falling to bits, not exposed to sun. After talking to upholsterer find out this is common, not really what you expect… Read more
from a van that cost over 100 grand. Buyer beware Supreme use cheap materials and for the money there are better options out there.
terrible service – Purchased a second hand Supreme Territory slider three years old direct from supremes sales yard. Then discovered lots of water problems, wet cupboards wet bed front boot completely rotted out, hot water service steaming under the bed, they did fix some items but you must have the patients of a saint there after sales service is appalling to say… Read more
the least. Great van worth a lot of money, fairly simple problems to fix, should have been done when the van was new. All i can think is some one else suffered the disappointment with the initial purchase and couldn't deal with the after sales service. Be warned or be handy yourself !
2008 model is GREAT!!! – We upgraded from a 2003 Jayco Hawk Outback camper to a 2008 18' Supreme Territory Pop Top Caravan in February 2015. It has a few extras such as fold down bunk beds in the front, 220lt compressor fridge, heavy duty rear bar with extra spare and extended drawbar with toolbox fitted. It also has the 'simplicity' bogie independant suspension. It was… Read more
one owner and has been well used but well cared for.
Basically, after a few weekends and one longer trip, all up maybe 5000 kms in 3 months, so far I cannot fault it. Tows exceptionally well, apart from the extra weight it feels like towing the camper trailer, no sway or bounce (we have a WDH fitted, so that may help). Fit and finish throughout is faultless, and miles ahead of the crap Jayco product we had. The whole van appears to be very, very well made in comparison to the Jayco we owned, and also the various Windsor, Coromal etc...vans that we were comparing it with. No leaks or water damage are evident at all. Really love this van. I did visit Supreme's factory in Melbourne earlier this year, and am not sure if the new vans are quite to the the same build quality of the 2008 model we have.
The only drawback is it quite heavy for an 18' van with no ensuite (approx. 2000kg tare), but when you look at the construction underneath and internally I feel this is worth it for the strength of the van.
In summary, very, very happy and looking forward to years of happy caravanning.
2002 was a good year for supreme territoriy`s – I own one, no problems, nothing falls apart, no leaks, tows great with a simplicity suspension so far done abt. 100,000k`s was thinking of upgrading but after reading this & other forums it seems they all have major problems so will be sticking with the one I have. Pity they let their standards drop.
Van ok follow up service pathetic – We took delivery of a new Territory supposedly built too our specifications in January 2015. We took the van despite several of the specifications not being adhered too and some superficial scratches on one of the bench tops. During the demonstration of the appliances they managed to burn out the HWS element,4 months later we are still trying get… Read more
it fixed. Supremes warranty department is a joke with their main purpose appearing to be fob off, delay or ignore requests for warranty claims. We have only towed our van about 2000k's and are hoping that no further faults appear as the trouble we have gone to in an attempt to get this minor fault rectified is ridiculous. I also have reservations about the accuracy of the weights stamped on the compliance plate as the claimed tow ball weight of 185kgs has climbed to 275kgs with no changes to the van as it was delivered other than full water tanks. The van looks good and is well appointed but if you can get a comparable van from another manufacturer I'd give Supreme Caravans a wide berth.
Will never buy another Supreme Caravan – We bought our caravan in Perth, 2006 brand new from the Victoria factory. At a first glance it looked impressive and we were happy when we drove out from the dealers yard. At that stage we were disappointed with the dealer, they explained very little and the handover took about 5 minutes. From this point on everything went down hill. Too many… Read more
small issues to list, but all causing inconvenience and were annoying. We did buy the Supreme because the dealer told us it was the top of the range where caravans were concerned. We also live 2hrs drive from the dealer which made it inconvenient to take it back all the time to get it repaired. Now, for the major issues, Shower doors continually falling off, damaging the walls and shower base. Shower waste outlet not sealed, caused water damage to the walls. Shower walls not sealed to the shower base, wall panels delaminating. The panel, covering the shower plumbing, was not fixed properly, causing the silicon sealing to break loose. Water pipes behind the panel were leaking, only found out when the wall panels went mouldy.
The slide out pantry collapsed due to the poor track supports. The fridge doors continually came open when travelling, on sealed roads. The kitchen cupboards were a disaster, badly fitted, big gaps at the back, wall laminate over the bench tops came unstuck. I think they used an axe to cut the hole in the back of the cupboard for the hot water unit. I finished up spending a day to seal all the gaps and stop the dust from betting in. The air-conditioning unit was so noisy, rattling, it was impossible to use it. The roof was leaking around the air con unit and also above the bed cupboards, wet clothes. The power point next to the bed came away from the wall. The Smart Charger failed after 1 year. The wheel alignment scrubbed out the tyres after 25000km. No jack supplied. Needless to say, our initial joy quickly turned to dismay every time we used the Supreme caravan. If this is the top of the range as caravans go, god help all the others. Anyway, we will never buy another Supreme caravan.
We had very good service – We brought our supreme classic van in 2012 and we were very happy with our hand over .We had our van modified to our needs and we were very happy with the van and extremely happy with the staff and the service that we had .The only problem that i have with supreme caravans is that some one must have liked it more than us as it was stolen ,… Read more
. As all our papers were in our van witch we needed for insurance ,the staff at supreme could not do enough to help us,with getting all the papers we needed. We would not think twice about buying a supreme caravan from the craigeburn show rooms The caravan suited our needs There was nothing wrong with it
Supreme gone from dissapointment to elation – Ok to all you people with gripes about supreme, we also had a few problems with our 5 year old van door frame splits leaking shower,WA agent not interested,on a recent trip to Victoria we decicded to take our van with its problems back to the factory.after contacting the people at the factory we called in they had quick look at the issues and… Read more · 1
after agreeing to leave the van there that day they had started on it before we even left. Two days later they called said it was ready, not only did they fix the problems there was no charge, they even replaced the led clearance lights, great people, thank you!
Nice van – Bought ours in Dec 2010 in WA and immediately headed for Brisbane, We have had no real issues at all except for a few minor things like the shower door falls off on rough roads (bitumen),The kitchen draws falloff there tracks every trip.(Poor quallity runners). And the sealer used on the roof has gone all mouldy in Brisbane weather. The bed could… Read more

Very disappointed looks great but leaks like a sieve and after sale servicewas terrible – We poured our savings into this van so that we could take our young family on a trip around Australia. We took it on a ten day trial run and after three days the "smart charger" failed and we couldn't get any power into the van. We rang the service department and they couldn't help. Took it to the nearest service centre they didn't know what to do… Read more
so we had to come home and lose our money on the holiday. At home we left it with the dealer to fix. They let it sit in their workshop for a month and finally returned it to us after we made numerous phone calls. They told us they had replaced it with a new improved model but turned out to be a second hand previously repaired one that died on our next trip.(all this while under warranty)
As if this is not bad enough. When we got our first decent rain after buying the van we discovered that it leaks like a sieve!! Our cupboard and storage compartment at one end of the van filled with water and ruined our clothing and blankets. Further leaking above the bed at the other end soaked the wall making it black and mouldy and a danger to the asthmatics in our family. Unfortunately it was now just out of warranty and after much buck passing Supreme informed us that if we drove it to Melbourne (we live in NSW) they would see what they could do but it would all be at our own expense !! This is not even a financially feasible option for us.
Supreme!! I think not. Product and service are all supremely inferior.
We are devastated and wish we'd never "traded up" from our 1986 Millard that never gave us a moments trouble. Tows well and looks great. Bad warranty service, leaks
Had the same problem with our "Smart Charger" piece of junk. Replaced at 9 months with another… Read more (+3 replies)
Bad – Problems 3 months after buying van: windows kept opening (latches not fitted correctly) fixed but at cost. Battery smart charger burnt out (fixed but at cost) screws in vanity cupboards screwed through fibreglass shower recess(fixed but at cost) water filter screwed to ply panel, ripped out(fixed at cost) water leaked into tunnel boot due to… Read more
improperly fixed doors and seals(fixed at cost) battery smart charger burnt out again( unit replaced by manufacturer-freight costs) 3way fridge defrosts on 12v whilst travelling. Elec element in hws not working. Aircon. Drips water into van whilst running. Hole worn in caravan roof by folded down winguard tv antenna. Panelling split by insertion of self tapping screws in elec. Switches(no backing to support them) and we can go on and on and it is mostly caused by quality control (there isnt any) many of these things have been fixed by manuf. But still at cost to us,(eg. 300km trip to have smart charger replaced)110km trip to have screws from vanity removed out of shower recess) for a van of (supposed)quality we say no!!!! As this van was only purchased in august 2007. We will be taking our concerns to higher levels as we think the money invested on a quality product of this nature should not have these concerns, supreme (we dont think so) Towing is excellent, looks nice from exterior After warranty expired 21 days tried to have things fixed( sorry your warranty has expired) this was the after sales service we got.
Excellent – In the first 8 months of ownership I took this van via Tibbaburra , Innaminka, Birdsvill, Mount Isa, down the Giib River Road then the Tanami Track. I did not take things too easy so it was a real work out and because of this there was some consequential damage: 1/ Fridge stopped working the last day on the Tanami replaced in Alice springs via… Read more
warranty when the fridge was removed the guts all feel out on the floor due to vibration from road corrugations
2/ Door on pantry was damaged due to vibration replaced under warranty in Melbourne
3/ SS sink cracked damaged due to vibration replaced under warranty in Melbourne
4/ Kitchen drawers damaged due to vibration replaced under warranty in Melbourne
5/ Stainless steel cooktop cracked and damaged due to vibration replaced under warranty in Melbourne
6/ One Camec window latch broke and window opened replaced under warranty in Melbourne
7/ Battery charger broke damaged due to vibration replaced under warranty in Alice springs
8/ Some cupboard / drawer latches broke damaged due to vibration replaced under warranty in Melbourne.
All damage was a result of the heavily corragated roads we travelled down but all problems fixed under warranty I have nothing but praise for Supreme caravans after sales service as in reality they fixed all things that were caused by myself as these vans are not off road vans but dirt road vans and this was understood by me before I bought the van as the sales people told me.
By the way the fridge tech in Alice springs Says does not matter what brand of van the Tanami Track takes its toll on fridges due to the heavy corragations, often and even in the more expensive dirt road vans the fridges are found bouncing around inside the vans at least this did not happen with the Supreme. I have a 20'6" rear ensuite Territory, it tows well, extremely comfortable to live in, has all the bells and whistles to be self sufficient for a couple of weeks off road, is rugged in construction. The quality of finish is good if not better than 80% of other caravan manufacturers There is nothing that I can say I dislike about it.
Excellent – We have recently bought a 2002 Supreme Territory and we are thrilled to bits with it. We have travelled 8000kms in it and we can't fault it. We have taken it offroad with no problems. Great appearance, spacious interior, very sturdy and comfortable. Very easy to tow. Very helpful staff at service centre Melbourne.
Terrible – Go with a different brand, after visiting the factory and seeing not one person with skill making these vans i would run Looks nice from the outside As soon as you step inside the problems begin. It still looks nice but almost everything in it has been poorly put together, poorly tested, and plumbing works all round are cheap and nasty
Terrible – very poorly put together, have traded for more money over quality. Workers under pressure to put vans out, Even if there not right. Not one person with skill working on these vans looks nice Poorly put together, After visiting the site, no builders , plumbers , or sparkies in site , falls apart
No builders, plumbers or electricians on site? How are their vans built then, by automated robots… Read more (+1 reply)
Excellent – Great van, has not let me down and has been to some very rough and remote places, it has exceeded my expectations after 4 years travelling and living in the van I am very happy. 2005 model Towed over 80,000Ks On some of the roughest roads and could not be happier, had the odd problem but not as many as others in more expensive and socalled tougher vans, when sought after sales service the staff could not be more helpful. None that come to mind
