Great product – This monitor is now doing our second child. Our first use of a monitor it gave my wife peace of mind.the sensor pad was great until we moved our child into the cot. Now our second child is here 3 yrs later we pulled it back out and once again is giving awesome peace of mind.
horrible – I have only had this product set up for 16 days for my newborn and my movement alarm has gone off 3 times tonight alone and we have only been in bed for 4 hours! This isn't the first night it's done it either! My baby is only in a bassinet wit a thin mattress so it shouls be picking up movement easy! It was a present and can not be returned so… Read more
now we need to buy a new one... retailing at $180 I'm not happy!
expensive, movement pad keeps going off
its ok :) – I got this as it was half the cost of the other movement monitors, once we got the settings right had no false alarms however the parental unit it very static and it always on not just when there is noise. On the plus side of that i can hear baby even if it is a very small quick noise. Inexpensive, reliabe. The static can be annoying
hmm what is a good monitor? – Looking through all kinds of monitors it's hard to find one with a grand review. This one was good in terms of the sensor pad which was what I was ultimately after. Now onto my second child, so it has had a lot of use. The alarm for the sensor has only gone off a very small number of times but I am grateful for it and to run in and check. It is… Read more
good that the sensorpad can be removed when the child is older so it can just be a monitor in their room for when they call out,
The static though is terrible in our bedroom so at night I turn the volume off and I can wake to see the lights flashing etc and hear crys from the bedroom. In the day it is downstairs and the static doesn't bother when not trying to sleep. Sensor pad was always a must for monitors for us Static pick up is terrible no matter what
Dont buy this baby monitor!!! – I bought this baby monitor and it cost me $220. I thought that by paying a LOT it would be as fantastic as the box promised it would be. Wrong!!!! The baby monitor parent unit (the unit that is in your bedroom so you can hear bub cry at night) had a horrible static noise all night long, so I couldn't get to sleep because it was sooooo noisy. It… Read more
also used to pick up neighbours phone calls and scare the crap out of me in the middle of the night when I would suddenly hear someone talking thru the baby monitor.
I returned it for a full refund and am now the very happy owner if an Oricom Secure 200.
Everything, static noise, interference.
Bad – Great idea for nervous mums (like me) however our baby is sleeping through the night yet we are getting no sleep because of the alarm. It is really scary when the alarm goes off as I know how sensitive the product is with movement as I do trials on it all the time. I wish I could recommend this product but I really can't. Spend a bit extra and buy… Read more
another brand. There was no static and the temperature display is great. This is the second one we've had. The first one we bought in 2007 started going off six times a night. The company was very good and exchanged it for the one we have now. However that has started going off 3 times a night and we are now out of warranty so we will look at buying another brand. Everytime the alarm goes off we get up to check the baby and reset the alarm.
Terrible – Horrible. Unreliable the alarm goes off for no reason even when my baby is right on top of the sensor pad. It wakes him up and makes us panic at those all so lovely wee hours of the morning. The monitor also loses power even whilst plugged into the outlet. I wouldn't even give this away second hand. (It's that bad). I couldn't in good concious pass it off on some other unsuspecting parents. False Alarm, power issues, static,
Bad – as a baby monitor for sound it was fine, besides the non-chargeable hand-held unit. but as movement sensor monitor, i wouldn't recommend it. you'd be better to pay a little more and get one that doesn't "tick" continuously We liked having the portable monitor and the thermometer was useful during summer. the portable monitor was not re-chargeable,… Read more
so had to have it sitting in the unit, plugged in to the power-point. the batteries went flat very quickly. when we put the sensor mat on, it "ticked" every time the baby took a breath. not just in our room, but in the babies room too. we never used the sensor mat because of this. rather expensive, and was disappointed that we couldn't use the function we bought it for.
OK – If these issues are resolved, would purchase again and keep receipt for warranty, however would be willing to try another brand. Loved the night light and temperature display on baby unit. The flexibility of being able to take it outside and see baby's movements (via a flashing light). Liked having the reassurance of the sensor mat. The monitor… Read more
worked fine until our son started rolling and moving in his sleep, then we constantly had false alarms (might not have been every single night however at least once a week on average and not just once, it was about every 30 seconds for at least an hour some nights). The parent unit had a humming noise when anything was plugged into a power plug in the same room (eg. mobile phone charger - whether it was charging a phone or not). Also, after 9 months of use, the adaptor stopped working, took it back to place of purchase to be told that there was a product recall but they couldn't tell us why and nothing is published on the internet.
Terrible – Do not buy unless you enjoy throwing money down the drain not worth the price and at $150 it's not exactly cheap either! This product is complete garbage! Like other reviews we found the mat gives constant false alarms which cause more worry than anything...every night I would be up in a panic and the loud noise would wake the sleeping baby. … Read more
After about 6 months of use the monitor no longer sits in the cradle provided and we have literally had to duct tape it in to get it to stay upright. The amount of interference on the monitor since new was terrible, enough to keep you awake at night. I would never buy this product again.
Bad – I have now purchased the Angelcare Deluxe and whilst it may be rated as one of the best its far more difficult to set up and use. I liked that it was simple, easy to set up and quite compact... It had all the features i needed besides the extra parent unit... It wasnt cheap so i would have thought it would have been a bit better quality.. … Read more
Also i found out it had a product recall when i took it back to the place of purchase. Simple to use...
Temperature on the babies unit.
Night light is great....
Can have it on without the parents unit being on. At first i didn't really have any issues... but there was a constant buzzing noise on the parents unit.
About 6 months of having this monitor it started going off like the baby stopped breathing... Gave me a heart attack when it went off the first time but after going off 4 times in one night was not very impressed....
The range was limited couldn't go very far...
Terrible – a complete let down, wish I'd never spend the $180 on it. I think we already spent close to that on replacement batteries already! DON'T BUY IT! temperature gauge terrible static, batteries constantly running out (thought it was a rechargeable unit), breathing sensor constantly ticked, there was nothing 'reassuring' about it at all. KEpt going off with our standard mattress. Had to have vol up really loud and deal with the static, drove us crazy.
Terrible – I would never get this. It has been a hassle from day one. It is sad that we can't even use all the functions of the product because there are so many problems with it. Size of handset. Goes through an unbelievable amount of batteries. We gave up using the handset on batteries as it just goes through so many. We now just have it hooked up to the… Read more
main power so if we go to another part of the house we have to unplug it and plug it in somewhere else. Gets a lot of static. Constantly having to move it around to avoid static. The breathing sensor alarm kept going off so we have turned this function off.

Terrible – Low, it wasnt cheap to buy and you expect a product like this to last longer than this. The alarms went off repeatedly as soon as he went into a regular cot. The manufacturer suggested 1. Getting a thinner mattress (yeah, cause I'm going to chuck the expensive marrress & all the bedding) 2. Getting a smaller cot (yeah, cause I'm going to sell the… Read more
cot cause the monitor doesnt work) 3. Putting a piece of wood between the slats and the mattress (went to Bunnings, purchased the wood, paid to have it cut to size, didnt work at all, waste of money). After 2 months of being woken up hour after hour we have purchased the Angelcare one that our friends have used with no issues. I suggest you aviod purchasing this product. Nice design, doesnt look out of place and generally feels solid Takes regular batteries, doesnt re-charge, alarm constantly going off with any mainstream cot / standard mattress (we had the Boori), the monitor constantly "ticks" when on rather than just when there is an alarm, base unit often isnt powering handset because of bad design. 13 months after purchase its being replaced with a better model.
Excellent – I have had no problems with this monitor. I have heard that some of the other brands of monitors go off regurly for no reason but this has not happened with my monitor. It has a good distance range for when Im out in the garden. The temp. is excellent to help know if baby's room is too hot or cold. The night light doen not provide a lot of light,… Read more
but I guess this is good to avoid waking baby up in the night. It has been great value for money and helps to provide peace of mind during the night. I often forget to turn the movement sensor off when I get baby up and have to quickly race back into the room to stop the alarm from sounding but I only have myself to blame for this! Great peace of mind for paranoid new parents. Room temp. and night light are great. Got it on special at a really great price. Cant sleep with the monitor on due to static noise.
Good – A good quality baby monitor, especially if normally used in a fixed location (on docking station). If purchasing another baby monitor I wouldn't bother with the sensor pad, and I'd try to find a monitor that takes rechargable batteries or has better battery life. Thermometer is a handy addition. Size of parent unit is good, making it nice and… Read more
portable. Seems to have good reception all the way past our shed to the wood pile. Parent unit seems fairly rugged. Easy to use. Movement sensor pad seems to give false alarms regularly. We have just turned this feature off. Eats batteries like they are going out of style, and doesn't take rechargables. This means we need to get a bulk pack of batteries regularly to keep it operating.
Terrible – Very disappointed, you would expect more from this brand, product seems to be manufactured by complete amateurs. Do not buy it, it's noisy, inaccurate and it will probably break down in a few months. Not much. Shows room temperature. Lots of static, very noisy anywhere around the house or outside. It stopped working completely a while ago, anyway,… Read more
so I need to buy another one. The alarm went off right under our eyes, with baby breathing and everything. We removed it after it created panic a couple more times for no reason. One of the crapiest baby products I've ever bought
Good – Overall it has been a lifesaver, in more ways then one. It seems to be very durable as I have dropped the parents monitor a couple of times and it hasnt broken. Apart from the static its a great investment. I love having a movement sensor! We have had the alarm go off a couple of times as our daughter stopped breathing.I can sleep at night knowing… Read more
that if our little one stops moving an alarm will go off. I also like that I can walk into our little ones room and see what the temperature is. Also the night light is handy! For the price of the unit I expected it to be a bit better then what it is, as the static is hard to put up with when you are trying to get a good nights sleep!
Good – I would recommend this product to any parent who needs that reassurance for themselves to sleep at night. My bub is almost 10 months old and I am still using the alarm, it helps me sleep at night to know that it is turned on and monitoring him. We have had a few false alarms when he moved to the other end of the cot, but that had never bothered… Read more
me. It went off once when bub had a cold and stopped breathing, the unit literally paid for itself that night. I love the green sensor light that indicates that he is breathing, I can peek my head into his room at night and when I see that light I feel instant relief. Besides the awful parent unit, I have had no problems with the baby unit, works perfectly. Love the motion sensor, adjustable night light and temp display. The parent unit is awful, so much static that I choose not to use it. It is expensive.
Excellent – Would definitely recommend to any new or expectant mum. Gives you a peace of mind in those crazy first couple of months.. It is often on special. definitely lives up to its name. Room temperature, night light (although very dim). Can have the parental unit on its base so didn't use batteries. Not staticy. ocassionally the alarm did go off at… Read more
night. Not sure if it was just because baby was in a deep sleep and very still. Now that baby is bigger we don't keep the unit on as it would go off as he wriggles around to the corner of the cot.
Good – It's great and although it has a few minor setbacks I wouldn't be without it. I love the reassurance it gives me to know as one of those paranoid mothers that my daughter can sleep by herself without me having to worry I love the reassurance that the breathing monitor brings, love the temp on the main unit, love the lights and sound of the parent… Read more
unit to let you see and hear the baby is alright. The alarm for if the baby has stoped breathing is peircing and has woken me up even though I'm a heavy sleeper, the parent unit has a belt clip that can be turned around to use as a stand for the unit. It's a tad stacicky which can be a pain, it would be have been better if the parent unit cradle recharged the parent unit
Excellent – Love this product and it is value for money. Seeing the green light flash just makes you feel at ease! We have had a few false alarms but I'd rather that, than it not let me know when I need it to! This product is the 'ultimate reassurance' and we feel completely at ease for having it. The parental unit seems to chew through the batteries so obv.… Read more
you must have to only put batteries in when you want to take it outside which is a not very practical! Perhaps a rechargeable battery when you put the monitor back in the socket would be better? There is static but I've only noticed it when the volume is turned up - and you don't need the volume up to hear the baby anyways!

OK – Great concept, good features.. however i had to return my first one as it suddenly stopped working, the replacement has a faulty night light. I have had no real problems with false alarms, other than my now bigger baby wriggles around his cot and on 3 occasions alarm has sounded but only because baby was right in the corner of his cot. I have… Read more
friends who have had no problems with thier unit. night light, room temperature, power or battery operated, lights that flash when baby is making a noise and so dont have to have volume on, sound was clear and didnt need it turned it up much to hear baby anyways. parental unit is temperamental in that if you run it without batteries the handset has to be in just the right spot for the elements to connect with the power base, so if it was knocked or table bumped then handset easily disengages power. i used batteries to be able to take unit outside ect but and when you put back on base it automatically clicks back into power mode, however because it was so temperamental most of the time it was using the battery power and i went through batteries quite quickly.
Bad – Overall, as a baby monitor it works well, but having three false alarms was not very reassuring at all! Have since changed over to Angel Care. Temperature and light on base, and volume option to hear 'tic' on movement Had three false alarms - very scary coz bubs was just in a deep sleep, and also terrible static when placed near any other electrical equipmeent.
Terrible – We got this as a gift for our 1st baby and ended up returning it and exchanging for the philips monitor which we love. This is a good idea and good concept in theory, but it's just too unreliable and sends too many false alarm which is the worst thing for new parents. I would not recommend this to any parent as parents that consider this are the… Read more
type to be a bit more paranoid, and with the false signals it gives off, it can really send you into panic mode. Don't buy this, get the phillips monitor as it's reliable and no static. Clear sound with very little static. The movement monitor send can make you paranoid when false alarms happen.
Terrible – customer service was bad didnt care that I only had the unit 11 months very poor response from Tommee Tippee was good didnt have any problems until now have ony had it 11 months now broken. Rang Tommee tipee and was told that couldnt replace it if i didnt have a reciept dont have a reciept as it was a gift.
Bad – I will reserve final judgement until I have replaced the unit. It seems like the unit is ok, and that I may just have a Dud. It's a reasonable tool for checking on your baby in the middle of the night. So far it has usually performed as advertised. I have had three false alarms and I am returning the unit to replace it. The alarm goes off and it… Read more
seems like the unit goes into a fail mode, with every LED lit, until it is turned off and reset. It is a scary thing to have go wrong in the middle of the night.
OK – Good peace of equipment. Tells the temperature, the sensor mat that goes under the mattress is great to be able to tell when the baby is moving/breathing. Great for peace of mind It's a great unit for peace of mind and for me as mummy to know that my bub is ok and well in his cot in the next room without me having to always go in and check on him.… Read more
All of the static that happens with the parents device. Have to put the unit in the same spot when I'm in the lounge room. Goes anywhere electrical equipment and it sets it off and goes haywire. Also the fact that the parent device is not rechargable even though it sits in its on docking station.
Good – It has taken much of the worry out of having our baby sleep in his own room.I am really happy that we bought this monitor and mat. We had to move our bubs into his own room at 4 weeks of age this monitor gave us some real reassurance. The night light and temperature display are SO handy. We have had no false alarms except when I accidentally… Read more
knocked the mat out of position when changing sheets. The mat is really sensitive and we have had at least one alarm which when I arrived in our bubs room he had actually stopped breathing(Luckily he started again quickly). The handset does go through batteries a bit quick but I found rechargeable batteries solved this problem. The ticking sound and light on the hand set is reassuring but, it would be nice if the alarm would still work without the tick on. It takes a while to get used to sleeping with the noise. The cables can get in the way cordless would be easier.I think the mat is a bit small for the average cot especially once the baby starts to move around the cot, it gets harder to position it so the baby is always on it.
Good – We were given this as a gift and I wouldn't be without it. I feel so much happier putting my little baby to bed. The night light is really useful for checking on her without putting the main light on. Helps parents to feel safer putting baby to bed. Has a night light complete with dimmer. Tells you the temperature so you know how many blankets to… Read more
put on baby. Can change to 3 channels. The parents device does pick up a lot of static from other household devices. The parents device requires batteries, would be better if it recharged from the cradle.
Good – Since my unit stopped working correctly after a few days, I have lost faith in it, I will be replacing it with another more reputable brand. The night light is great & the temperature display is very handy & accurate. Very easy to use. My parent nit stopped working after a few days so the green display to show the babies movements & sound would't… Read more
work. I really liked at night to be able to just peek at the parent unit & wait a few seconds for the green liht to flash & I would know bubs was fine, unfortunately once the green light stopped working I would always end up in bbus room to physically check she was breathing...which really defeats the purpose of having the moniter.
It also is very staticy, too noisy, but turned down is too quiet to really hear baby...
Excellent – Once you get used to hearing every baby sound while you try to sleep, it gives real peace of mind that if bub requires attention or worst has stopped breathing you'll know straight away. So I don't go to sleep worrying I won't hear bub or she'll die in her sleep without me being able to get there and hopefully save her! (One person said they… Read more
thought they would worry more with the sensor on, but I found the opposite. My bub slept in her own room once home from hospital and this monitor was a great buy.) Highly recommend it. Easy to set up. Really reliable. Volume and alarm very good. Handy monitor and nightlight. Had no difficulties with sensor sensitivity. Only has one powered cradle so have to use batteries for other rooms in the house. Goes through batteries quite quickly. Base has to be more than one metre from pad under mattress, but lead was not much longer than that so was table had to be set up close by. Some worry about cords in bub's room for little hands to grab - cordless would have been better.
Good – Great monitor for newborn. However, from about 4 months old my son started rolling around the cot and kept setting off the alarm. Would buy again if another sensor pad was added or improved. Good to see the light flashing to indicate movement/breathing. Also has another area of lights to indicate the volume of noise. This is a good feature if you… Read more
want to turn it right down and just see if your baby is making noise. I use this when doing the mowing, just a quick glance lets me know my baby is alright. Night light and temperature display are excellent. Good to take outside. The movement sensor often goes off as my baby rolls around the cot. Might have been better if the sensor pad was bigger or two pads. I have slept through the alarm going off, but it stops when there is movement again. Hard to get used to turning on/off the movement sensor to start with. Often got up to feed, sat down and then the alarm went off. Batteries run out quickly on the handset if I use it out in the yard and not have it sitting in the power cradle.
Excellent – I love how it has a few features in the one unit. I can take the portible out into the backyard to hang out the washing and can clearly hear what baby is up to. Now that my baby can wriggle off the sensor, she does tend to set it off. The night light is bright enoungh to see your baby during the night for a check up. It has three different… Read more
channels which is great as we have a couple upstairs in our apartment block which has a baby too. So we can change the channel and not interfere with their monitor. It is costly to buy, but I'm glad we got it. Thumbs up Tommee Tippee Has temp, night light, can run on emergency batteries if there is no power. Sensor pad picks up every little movement It pricey, but what price you you put on your child?
