Eco Tourer AC – This is my second purchase of a Eco tourer and do love them for their simple design . One question for others How would those who have the Herron AC rate it’s performance? Show details

10+ years on & still enjoying an Eco Tourer – Generous and clever interior design - can’t fault it. Super easy to manage, live in (incl 1 full year on a lap) and to tow (Falcon ute). No issues of a mechanical nature in a decade and around 75km+ of towing on road. As reported elsewhere (1) virtually all the interior laminates variously came loose after 7-8 years, but using a clear sealant reaffixes ok, and (2) still no design for a fly screen door (why not FFS?). VG van - recommended. Show details

Thoroughly Disappointed – Bought a 2008 Off Highway model second hand in 2018 with peninsular double bed. Whilst we are very happy with almost every aspect of the van we have found over the last 2 years or so that just about every bit of veneer and bench/table top laminate is coming off which to me indicates faulty glue or incorrect installation. Caravan Court who used to… Read more

manufacture them say they can't help me. After some discussion they let the cat out of the bag, since about 17 years ago they have been manufactured overseas, although they didn't specify I have my suspicions. They can't even suggest anyone who may be able to help. Unfortunately ALL the people we talked to about Ecotourers had earlier models that were manufactured in Springvale in Melbourne. They all raved about the quality and after sales service, unfortunately that's all in the past. I would recommend don't buy one manufactured after about 2002 unless you are a tradesman or handyman who can strip off all the veneer and laminate and re-affix it properly.

Everything we need for 2 person caravanning – We purchased a 10 year old off road Eco Tourer model with shower and toilet. Very happy with it. It tows easily behind the Hi Lux and is not too big to reverse park (although my wife acts as spotter!). We had a diesel heater fitted and it warms up in 5 minutes. The awning is easy to set up and the bed is comfortable. The shower and toilet are very… Read more

useful if you don't fancy trudging to the toilet block and are easy to use. Gas cooking, 3 way fridge and a couple of big batteries make it easy to camp free. Bought a generator but have not needed it yet - looking at solar blanket as another option when in caravan parks. Our first experience of caravanning and very pleased with the van!

Living up to expectations – After much research - we decided to purchase a second hand Eco Tourer with shower / toilet - could not be happier with the way it tows the layout and the ease of setup. Picked up in Melbourne in winter - -3 outside inside is cosy with the reverse cycle A/C , Cupboards for everything inside , moulded along the roofline - much the same as in a boat, the finish is much the same as a boat and very easy to clean.  Show details

First time caravan owners....love it! – We were totally new to caravanning, and we’d never towed before, so this was the perfect choice for us. We’ve had our 2016 Ecotourer for just over a year, and have been away for a few days at a time a number of times. We usually stay at caravan parks that have full facilities, and hook up to their power and water. We don’t have the toilet and… Read more

shower onboard, which was a good choice for us as we have the island bed with wardrobe space instead. We carry a porta loo that we can set up if need be in a little outdoor ensuite tent, but if we can find a park that has an ensuite site and allows our little dog, it’s happy days! Have used the heater in Winter which was toasty, and the aircon in Summer, and have withstood heavy winds and rain without any problems. We haven’t had any issues at all with this little van, and love our times away in it. There’s usually just us 2 adults and our dog, but we’ve also converted the dining area to a single bed for a 3rd adult, who found it very comfy to sleep in! Stores in a single garage space perfectly. Also, the Gold Coast dealership has been very helpful with us newbies!

Suits us perfectly – Will start with the negatives..2 years old and hardly used : even though "off road" after a few 100 ks of dirt found the inside cupboards jiggled loose and stayed that way and a drawer broke its runner. TV broke apart. Water outlet valve leaked. All window screws became loose and a couple fell out. The positives.... Ecotourer makers Caravan… Read more

Court in Melb., have changed the newer models to have better door closures and a different style of TV. They also , very obligingly subsidized the repairs to the above problems. We still think, having looked at latest caravan show , the Ecotourer has a great layout, fast to pack up and get on the road and we prefer the extra space inside NOT having an ensuite provides.Only van that comes close is the Avan poptop, but that comes with the extra towing height. Ecotourer tows well and I have spare cupboard room inside.

Best 2 person van available – What a bunch of wingers! We had a 2006 black top shower and toilet EcoTourer. Great van, towed well up to 110 kph behind a Toyota Hi Lux. Travelled across most of Oz but stayed on sealed roads, absolutely no trouble at all. A very comfortable easy to use van, good layout with reasonable size double bed, shower and toilet. Layout of sink, gas top… Read more

and fridge works well with sufficient storage for the necessary food, wine cloths etc. Many people appear to take far too much with them, remember there are shops around the country other than the one where you usually buy your groceries.

We recently upgraded to the Off Road version incorporating the various improvements the manufacturer has made, independent suspension, outside shower, aircon located under bed, LED lights, etc, etc. We tow it with a Benz GLE350d and it is fantastic. We are no longer restricted to sealed roads and recently travelled to Tibooburra, Cameron Corner, Innamincka etc without any difficulty or problem. Nothing broke, nothing fell off, no dust in van or car. In addition to manufacturer's fitted stone shield, we fitted a Stone Stomper Stone Guard which totally protected car and van, great product.

The current Off Road EcoTourer are great, worth every penny of its very competitive price. we added a second solar panel and battery and can remain on the road till the essentials run low.

Very happy customer – For this person who gives one star, he might be rough with his van, we have the off road for 4 years, nothing fell off, as we put a magnet on every door so it can't open without loking it...its a super van on every level, only the owning is very flimbsi...we travels australia 3 times and still love the van...  Show details

Wonderful idea, well made, BUT workmanship quality terrible on all fittings, nothing but problems – Have given short detail of quality, needs lots of weekend work. Reliable? Well after nearly 8 years of fixing things after each use it is now becoming reliable. Very comfortable, good size, great idea, tows beautifully, is a bit over 2 tons but a good strong chassis for the size of the van, so ok for some potholes, etc. but the cupboard doors may… Read more

August 10th 2016 Update: Update after 5 weeks in Tassie, from Mountainman, if you are interested.

Perhaps mid winter is not the best time to visit Tassie. The rear roof hatch still leaking over bed, I had replaced it but the sealant has to be chosen very carefully, mine didn't seal it, so off again. Borrowed a ladder, took it with me to work on it. Water flooded in through gas bottle storage door, I've now sealed it, (I think) also the door for the toilet cassette, but it ran away down the plug hole, now sealed, (I think) More and more laminex lifting, it all needs to be replaced. Since I modified the springs none have broken, so the axle has stayed on, also the spare wheel is still on after modification. But the van has done the best it could after a painful birth. It is the perfect size, tows beautifully, and I will stick with it, can't afford to sell and restart, but it will be the best Eco Tourer on the road! Oh, and yes you can make the table into a rough bed, I've had to. By the way I've also added a grey water tank, holds 18 litres, not a lot of trouble to do, cost about $60, all from Bunnings, very handy for some free camping when they have restrictions, but handy anytime, $60 well spent, not too hard on the Eco Tourer. Happy Touring. The ol mountainman.

Love the layout – The shape was what caught our eye. Tows effortlessly. Have to check the mirror to make sure it is still their. We have single beds and find this layout gives more internal room. Had a nearside tyre let go at 90kph and the van just dipped but stayed straight whilst we pulled over and put the spare on. Our thanks to Myrtleford tyre and battery… Read more

Good – Designer has provided excellent unit for consumer who wants sleek, compact, easy to tow, tastefully appointed van with all mod cons such as shower/toilet, Tv, air con etc , yet folds down to aerodynamic shape to tow. Fibreglass construction - clean & strong. Telescopic mechanism, rather than conventional poptop. Ingenious layout. Fold-up towbar… Read more

for easier storage. Lack of additional step for off-highway version. Could easily install mirror on inside cupboard door. Why not provide for conversion of dinette into bed? Door catches need additional magnets. Ride leveller should be provided.

Excellent – Excellent customer service from Caravan Court Springvale. Extra effort made to get us our van on time. Extras supplied at fair price. Excellent after sales service, after the first around Australia tour, a couple of small detail problems and some damage due to a small accident we had and the full service was completed for us for what I felt was a… Read more ·  1

very reasonable service charge, I was thrilled, had payed more for service of our previous van. Returning now from our second around Australia tour in our Eco Tourer, slipstream, off highway, caravan, still thrilled with it and it is as new condition.

I travel blog, talk about out great eco-tourer and show pictures of it on http://www.gray-nomad.com I can only tell by looking in the mirror that I am towing a van. Excellence of design inside, outside, strength and suspension are excellent. I mounted the wall mounted wardrobe on the floor making more bench space, easily done and I prefer the more open look of the van without the wardrobe on the wall.

Excellent – we love the compact size, a place for everything so it's at hand quickly and without fuss. No flapping or wet canvas to sleep in or pack up if it's raining. Very quiet inside, comfortable bed with really good under bed storage and even room for my wine cellar (one of our modifications!!). It's also easy to keep clean and when it's folded down… Read more ·  2

and in storage and you then open it up there is no musty smell as it's air tight. Each cabinet is a cabinet so what you put in stays in. The cabinet at the back of the bed is one long one across the width of the van and is probably designed for clothing, we've not used it much as we've not done more than weekend trips and the wardrobe has been more than enough for these outings. Shoes and any bulky item fit comfortably under the bed so you're not tripping over anything and the bed is spring loaded so lifts and lowers very easily. Having a separate vanity is also handy and not to mention higenic, no washing teeth and face in sink you wash dishes in - that could just be a 'girl-thing'!! The ensuite is cosy and compact but I love it, the toilet is a cassette and very easy to use and clean out. compact, easy to store and easy to tow and park. Sets up quickly, very quiet inside, beautiful finish in the fixtures and fittings - quality shows. Great way to meet people when you arrive anywhere. One thing we discovered, there was no gauze over the vent in the shower cubicle and sharing with bees if you park under a tree (yep - happened on our first outing!!) was not fun - so I made a gauze covering and used stick-on velco - works like a dream. This is the advantage of having the fibreglass surfaces inside and out. Would also be handy to have a water gauge fitted on the water tanks so that you knew when to fill up. Also no gauze/screen door due to the need to have the door fold, however we again used velco and fitted a cafe style gauze streamer band which works well, lets a breeze in without the flies.

Excellent – We've owned our van for 18 months and tow it with an '05 Kia Sorrento. We've travelled in the highlands of Tassie, gone to Kangaroo Island, had a trip to Innaminka via Bourke and Tiboorburra and have just returned from another trip, 22,000kms. all over WA. We have deliberately chosen the roughest roads as we don't like the boring bitumen. Our van… Read more ·  1

Love it! – We have had our Eco-Tourer (standard) for nearly six years and have been around Australia three times in it. We ind it extremely comfortable and very easy to tow and to manoeuvre , but it lets in a fair amount of dust when travelling on unsealed roads. The cupboard space is amazing for a caravan of this size, and each storage space has been well… Read more

thought out. We added reverse cycle air-conditioning after our first major trip, and that has been great. We also invested in an inner spring mattress to replace the standard issue one, and changed the TV over to a digital model. Having roof mounted swivel TV allows viewing from either the lounge area or the bed. Lighting and power points (10 of) are more than adequate, and all lighting is 12 volt (via converter when plugged into mains power).

We absolutely love it! Only problem is tat for the first couple of years we had to allow extra time setting up/packing up for answering questions and demonstrating for the curious onlookers in the caravan parks. Easy towing, no canvas, easy to set up. Nothing really
