BidMate was founded in 2007 by Internet entrepreneur Ron Gully, with the intention of providing Australia's most progressive online Auction site. BidMate is located in Highton Geelong Australia. BidMate offers state of the art security and the latest technology. Bidmate is the Australian Auction site.
Benefits:
New and used bargains can be found on BidMate everyday.
Buy, sell items from other Australians anywhere in Australia.
Shop directly via your PC and have your items delivered to your door.
Overall:
This site has great potential, some really nice items listed, lot better then the trash and treasure stuff on other sites, it looks a lot more pro.
Problems, as a seller,it's very hard to use, As they seem to want to do everything different it's very to just do something like send an invoice and contacting anyone throw this system is just not on .
Pretty sad I jointed a few months back and really wanted to see this one work.
Cons:
Doesn't actually matter whether its free or not because there's not enough members to 1. make many sales 2. get the price your product deserves.
Sites layout is horrible
Site is very complex to use compared to the better auction sites like ebay or Oztions
Overall:
The site sucks, stick to the good ones where you can actually sell your stuff and get what it deserves.
Oztions is by far the best auction site you will find in Aus, stick to it, this one will never over take it.
Cons:
Slowish site
Bad site design - categories are just clumped together
Overall:
I feel that the service itself is great, however.. or should I say unfortunately, the site setup doesn't show this.
The site can be overwhelming when you look at the front page, with a list of over a hundred categories being shown.
I feel they need to improve this part before they begin to take on competitors such as eBay or Oztion.
However, the site is an excellent idea and certainly one to keep bookmarked for future purchases as it is completely Australian owned and operated!
