Horse [censored] – I've not used a moden router as [censored word removed] as this. Dropouts regularly , never had a day of stability with this, can't believe Telstra still supplies this at all. I would highly reccomend anyone to stay away from this wireless router as it has brought nothing but frustration to my household for a year. Will get rid of it ASAP. Instability with constant drop outs.

Terrible – A terrible WIFI modem. Great for cable, but cant even suppor a single ipad, let alone laptops or ipods. It is so typical of Telstra, to then run you around and blaim everything from an exchange to the solar eclispe, when you complain. Will be letting my entire network of friends and colleagues know of my opinion of the the disgraceful service and terrible product.

Disgraceful Product – This product was supplied by the ISP but has performed appallingly from inception. The wi-fi was so bad that I had to use cable to the next room. I get 100Mbps by cable and, when I can get a wi-fi connection which is quite rare, it's around 11Mbps. Terrible performance! None Absolute rubbish

Terrible – Netgear are the most disgraceful company to deal with. I'm on my second one. The first one would not support WPA security. I spent days on the phone to Netgear. Yes, this is true. They said it was working as I could connect a PC to it. When I said I wanted to use the wireless part they would not answer other to say the PC or Optus was faulty.… Read more

Eventually when I told Optus to cancel my contract. Optus came around with a new Netgear Modem/Router. During this three weekend saga I actually spoke to someone in Optus who made sense. They suggested I buy my own router and use this instead so I bought a Linksys router and use this for the wireless part. Provides a stable internet connection You have to deal with Netgear if it doesn't work

OK – A perfect "set and forget" router for the lighter users and will get the job done. However for computer enthusiasts or people with a larger house I would recommend a Motorola SB5100/SB5101 and a separate Wireless N router. Easy to configure, high speed low latency connection bottlenecked only by your ISP. Great for gaming and lighter users.… Read more

Removable antenna also allows stronger after market antennas to be added. Relatively unstable, so much as open a BitTorrent application and watch your router act weird for the next 3 hours, AFTER closing the app. WiFi has low range, and limited security settings. Overall the router is very restricted and proprietary, with most advanced features disabled.

Bad – Router was fine at first... until i started using bittorrent or anything on WiFi. Slow, Weak reception, drops out way too much. Too much settings have to be changed to use everyday tasks (e.g. NAT type for Xbox Live/Playstation Network) Works fine as a modem, but is an awful router. Can't believe they actually sell this. Is free if you have a certain Optus Plan WiFi is weak, cannot handle bittorrent, too many drop outs.

OK – For a modem it's fine. The wi-fi componet, it's very weak. Bigpond is unable to assist with any other issue unless it has to do with their product. NO xbox 360 isses, no extender help, no (non-netgear) router help or tips. It's fast... It only a G receiver. It should be an N. It has aweful coverage This is very weak. I also can't connect my… Read more

xbox extender to it either. BigPond is no help, they can't help "they don't support it." They will tell you contact Netgear Au. Don't because they have no info on this Bigpond issued Modem/router. I can also not connect my D-link router to it either, something is blocking the internet connection. Then cannot help.

Bad – Bought from BigPond but "not supported" by them! Isn't this a contravention of the trade practices act? My other Netgear products are very reliable, just not this one! As a dedicated cable modem its fine, but as a Wi-Fi router it's very poor. If you need more than one PC to connect, especially via wireless, seek an alternative, if available.… Read more

Manufactured by Netgear. Cable modem works fine. WiFi is unstable and has limited range. Often my laptop only 3 metres away is not able to connect! It does not deliver as claimed.

OK – I bought the Netgear Wireless cable Modem gateway from Optus. The modem works well but the WiFi is a bit disappointing. The signal from the 2dpi antenna is weak and has limited range. suggest to upgrade to wireless N or replace current antenna with one with a high dbi The modem is fast and work well with my ISP The wireless piece is the issue. The reception is weak and has limited range. Netgear has poor customer support.
