Good – We are happy with our purchase and would recommend it as a good all round mid range camera which would suit most families who want something quick and easy to capture family moments. Nice mid range small compact and light video camera. Clear picture quality and sound quality meeting my requirements of a quick easy camera to pick up and point and shoot the kids as they are taking first steps, talking and so on. Pretty good battery life whilst recording Battery life is shortened greatly when playing back which is a pain when away and trying to show others what you have recorded. Although i now just carry all the attachments so i can plug into a tv and powerpoint at the same time. I originally thought i would get lots of use out of the remote control but i have never even taken it out of the packaging i would prefer a small tripod to be able to steady the camera as a standard with the camera instead of the remote control.
OK – While the camera has a good picture quality - the overall experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and I will NEVER buy a Canon product again. Lightweight, small and compact. Very clear picture, image stabiliser, good audio quality. Low light recording could be improved - picture is grainy. While I loved this camera - it was 4 only 4 months out of warranty when I had a problem with it. I returned it to Canon and asked for a repair under Statutary Warranty rights. The camera had not been mistreated, only used to record 2 tapes and did not meet my expectations.
Canon are the most unhelpful, rude customer service area I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I received a repair bill for $193.00 - the replacemt part was $7.00, the rest was labour and GST.
