Michelin Primacy 3 ST No complaints – These tyres are coming to the end of their life after just over 50 000km. They have provided faultless grip both wet and dry all the way to the end. They are quiet, provide good… handling and comfort. No complaints. Will be replacing them with Primacy 4. Mixed road conditions. |

Verified Ecovacs Deebot 600 Performance for price can't be beaten – Bought this about 12 months ago and has performed consistently well. The flooring in the house is tile and relatively open plan. Bedrooms have carpet and I do those separately… with conventional vacuum. I have not used this vacuum on carpet or rugs so cannot comment on its performance on these surfaces. Using the hard floor setting the Deebot travels in straight lines until it hits the wall then turns and continues in the opposite direction with a slight overlap of its previous line so 100% of the floor is covered. The Deebot is excellent on edges and corners and mages to maneuver around table legs quite well moving around them in a circular manner then going off in another direction. A dining table with six chairs under it is its kryptonite but after a bit of bouncing around it eventually finds its way out. Pulling the chairs out helps as does lining up the legs. The fewer obstacles the quicker and more efficient the Deebot will be. As this model does not have the mapping feature it will often not complete a section before ending up somewhere else, often traveling down the hall to the other end of the house. It travels around with the intent of traveling in parallel lines (hard floor setting) but where it can't it will go in another direction and start another set of parallel lines making the whole process very random. It might only do half a room and and then go through a doorway and then end up bouncing off the walls in that room in parallel lines for a while before going through the doorway again, it's all very random. But that doesn't mean it does a bad job, 99% of the time I'm satisfied that it has covered the whole floor in every room. Because of its random travel it does not go around the edge of the room doing the skirting boards and then the room but does end up traveling along the edge of the room hugging the skirting as it has a slight toe in movement and the spinning brushes get everything. Its sensors ensure it is gentle on the skirting and furniture as it slows down to barely moving as it is about to hit then gently kisses the wall before turning around and going in the opposite direction. It has never fallen down the stairs. It returns to its base for charging when battery is low. Occasionally it has not made it because it was at the other end of the house and didn't find its way out before going dead. I use this vacuum about 4 times a week and our floors are free of grit, dirt and dust, hair, food crumbs and other detritus. Larger things will need to be picked up. It will pick up reasonably large items so don't leave anything on the floor you don't want sucked up. It will pick up a glass marble (cat's eye size for those old enough). It will eat and choke on socks. Ear bud and charger cables will need to be cut out in a minor operation. It is easy to empty the cassette but you will need to cut the hair of the brush with scissors. It's also easy to clean, washing the filters and such under the tap and dry in the sun. Still works fine even if the filters have not been done for a while. Can usually pick these up for $300 at that big green hardware store. I got mine for that price from Godfrey's. At that price I absolutely recommend this vacuum for hard floors. |

Uncle Tobys Oats Steel Cut When I tried these I knew I'd never go back. But now I can't find them – Love the taste and texture of these oats. With the nutty flavour I didn't add sugar. Was given the tip to cook them the night before. Toast a cup of oats in the pan with a… little oil or butter then add 3 cups of water, bring to the boil then remove from heat and cover and leave overnight. Ready for reheating with a little milk in the morning and the next few days. Keep covered in the fridge. They don't go gluggy. Unfortunately I can no longer find them in any supermarket in my area. |
