Reviews

  Airtasker

We had one good experience and two bad. The biggest problem is the Taskers can write completely untrue vitriol in the reviews against you and there are no consequences for them as

these nasty reviews are not linked back to their account for others to see. Even if Airtasker takes them down, the emotional damage is done. I humbly request that you make the reviews left by both Taskers and Clients visible so that we can see how they treat others. It seems like it's often a receiver of people who have personality problems as they couldn't find work in other ways that didn't take such high cuts.

Avoid! – Warning: this product does not come with answers, there was no warning provided about this in the advertising. The company will only sell me answers for $89, so I have wasted my money!

  Code Camp

Gamified coding – I'm surprised at the overwhelmingly positive reviews. My experience is that Code Camp is more about playing online games than learning to code. It is highly polished with its

daily summaries and daily promotion code spam, but I think you will find that your kids don't come out of it knowing how to code.

  Australian Martial Arts Academy

Positive atmosphere with some challenges – We went there for a long time and it was a positive environment that encourages you to progress and better yourself. For those that stick with it, it gets results. The teachers

are passionate and they have a very large number of students beyond black belt, which means you can stick with it for decades and keep improving and having people to train with, if you want. It gets mostly good reviews which I can totally understand, however, I want people to be aware of the downsides before they think about joining - Huge commitment: very high levels of commitment are mandatory - 2 lessons a week, 52 weeks a year which increases to 3 as you progress (pausing is only permitted for medical episodes). Expensive: a black belt will cost you over $8,000 excluding grading fees and other add-ons. Class sizes: these vary but can be up to 40 or 50 students in a single class at popular times. Diversity: because of the large class sizes, performance expectations and approach to discipline, only really suits neurotypical students.

Customer service nightmare – I have an issue and I have been told there is no direct contact address for a complaint as the email is "no longer monitored". I just wanted to speak to someone in Australia, not

the customer care chat. Surely this is not in compliance with Australian laws. If anyone could let me know how to make a complaint to the regulatory bodies about not being able to complain, that would be appreciated (I have chat screenshots as evidence).
