Bad experience, not to be trusted – In 2003 we had a loan for an investment property with Aussie. We had used our own home as security. We wanted to sell our home and move somewhere else so I requested that our home…

be released from security (5 years on, no longer needed for security) and I paid the $400 release fee. Our home was fully owned.

Aussie did absolutely nothing with that cheque for 4 months. I didn't find out, that nothing had been done, until we sold our home and Aussie just took money from our sale and paid themselves out! My original cheque was then returned to me unceremoniously - 4 MONTHS after I'd written it! Just a cheque in an envelope.

This left us high and dry, in a situation where our rental property was now useless for tax and we couldn't afford to buy another house, unless we sold that (the rental) too. No point in owing money on your own home while collecting rent from a fully owned property...

While all this was going on, I was being told by Aussie that it would all be ok and everything would be fine ... but we were completely screwed over. They did not give two hoots about the situation they left us in.

Wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them*. Do not recommend.

Ps. We're still living in that same dodgy rental property all these years later, because we got stuck there thanks to these incompetent people, but we do have two other investment properties and, as you'd expect, the loans are NOT with Aussie.

here - they seem disinterested in your business when you walk in there. I wonder if this is because they have a lot of commercial trade due to publicity from The Block. There is, after all, a LOT of high rise going on and so they hardly need walk in trade to keep them in business.

Anyway, that's how I felt in Parramatta until I got proactive and friendly with a staff member and was helped and he went out of his way too. Got treated well from the beginning in Lewisham and would favour them in future.
