Once you *lift* the little flap on the cap the dried toothpaste quickly congeals like cement around the opening, so firmly in fact that the rest of the contents cannot be squeezed out. I emailed customer service re this problem and received a politely vacuous but unhelpful reply that more or less implied that the fault was mine, no refund. Apparently their cap works by screwing on and off and, confusingly, by also lifting.

MATE were among the the best on most things. Especially customer service. They even answered on the third ring!! "Looks super- promising so far" I told myself. To cut a long story short, they outclassed themselves on every bit of the process of setting up, explaining terms and options and so on. Since joining MATE about two years ago I've had none of the problems experienced with my previous telecom, a major, major provider, who survive on hot air, promises, accounting mayhem and people like me who are fearful of making changes. So, I ask myself, "Why did you wait so long" MATE makes everything so easy, cheap and hassle-free. They seem to be that rare bird, a company that actually values its customers.
