KeepCup Highly Recommended – I'm one of those people that prefers coffee in a takeaway cup rather than a ceramic one. I'm not a raving greenie but I would prefer not to contribute to unnecessary waste where… possible. I mainly use my keepcup at home when making coffee and it works really well. It's a standard size, it's easy to clean (it all comes apart) and it looks appealing. It's not 'insulated' but it keeps the coffee at least as hot as a take away cup would, and because of the lid, I think it keeps my coffee hotter longer than a ceramic cup does. I use mine daily and it's held up perfectly well for over a year, so durability isn't a concern at all. Also worth noting is that it doesn't give off any tastes. Durable, Easy to clean, Doesn't taste. |

Rocket Espresso Giotto The Rolls Royce of coffee machines – The Rocket (nee ECM) Giotto is one of the best made machines I have ever owned. It is most a machine than an appliance, as I can see it easily lasting 15 or 20 years. It is… stable, easy to use (for a semi-automatic machine) and forgiving of technique. If you are willing to invest some time learning how to make good, repeatable coffee shots, it will reward you many times over. Reliable, stable, beautiful Expensive |

WD TV Live Great Idea, Poor Execution – This box would be amazing if it worked as advertised. Being able to stream from computers on your home network, via wifi, to your TV, would be wonderful. Unfortunately there are… two big problems with the product as it currently stands: 1) Even with a high speed (802.11n) wireless network, video still stutters and plays without audio quite often. I'm not even talking about bluray movie rips, I'm talking about low-res 420p xvid AVI files.. 2) The network discovery side of the firmware is hideous. If you have media files on computers that are on or off at different times (like most home networks), i.e. your computers aren't on 24/7, then the box has constant trouble finding your shared files even when your computer is on. That said, if you have a fully wired network at home, with your media stored in a central, always-on location (e.g. a NAS), then this box will work well for you. Hopefully the above issues can be fixed with firmware updates, but as it stands I can't recommend this product.. Great Idea Poorly Implemented |
