Samsung CLX-6260FW Poor build quality – We've brought three of these units now and two of them have played up in different ways. One unit had problems with the input tray sensor which the Samsung Tech had to come out a… number of times before he found the problem and then the whole machine had to be replaced. The other problems we had with the 2nd unit was the Postscript & PCL drivers stopped working for colour prints. This was was too hard to prove to the Samsung Techs as they kept coming out and testing only with the SPL driver which does half the work on the computer. All in all I've just found the build quality of the unit and internal drivers terrible. If it worked and was a little stronger in some parts it would be a pleasure to use as the interface and speed are good, but it cannot last the distance after about 6 months of light use and it's out. |

Oki C711 Solid printer – This is our main printer at work with 10 people using it. It prints fast, reliable and cheap. It's easy to setup. It's relatively quiet and prints in double sided pretty fast. It… has heaps of options and is low maintenance. It works under linux and freebsd. The tray holds 500 pages comfortably. Easy, Fast, cheap to run, energy efficient expensive |

Fuji Xerox DocuPrint C1110 Series Cheap and limited – I got a few of these for the office as they seemed a good price. Around the office this printer doesn't perform well with PDFs and different page sizes, it seems to always be… complaining about something. I've also got one at home and it no longer prints dark for the black. I just changed the drum and toner and the problem came back very quickly. Cheap, handles pcl, works with Linux Bad rollers, slow, complains a lot, expensive to run |
