Dell XPS 8940 Desktop Much appreciated PC change over – I don't usually think about reviewing computers but my new XPS8940 is worth a mention. The tower is a little smaller than others and sits hidden nicely behind my monitors. A… couple of months of ownership is too soon to report reliability but the ease of installation and immediate performance levels were impressive. My near ten year old PC came to a standstill trying to update Adobe apps. This one barely blinks. Of course it was expected to work well but very quick delivery time, adequate start up instructions and obviously good quality connectors were bonuses. Everything just worked. I used my existing cordless keyboard and mouse; corded items were provided but perhaps could be of better quality, kept in case of an emergency. Cables for every imaginable monitor were in the box. If I ever need to upgrade it will be easy and reasonably priced. Now several years old, my Dell laptop of similar specs hasn't missed a beat. Dell continues to improve both the quality and suitability for intended market places of it's products. I recommend this company. |

Samsung Series 5 N5300 Good picture, dreadful sound – Usual great Samsung picture quality and updating latest software brought current EPG which is a big improvement. This TV would be great in a bedroom but it is in our kitchen where… it is next to useless. Ambient noise includes fan forced oven, exhaust fan and wall mounted cooling fan. Add running water and appliances and the TV cannot be heard. Previous model had no such problems. Lower 2 channel volume transmitted on HD broadcasts means maximum volume (at one hundred!) is not enough. Samsung may have saved a few dollars on their single spec 32" TV but they have seriously damaged their reputation. Bought this TV because all else is Samsung and great, especially the new 4K set recently purchased. I would have done without the compatibility if I had known the set would be this bad. |

Belling FSI60MFTS Bargain and still good – Everything is still working well after about three years. There is a very slight gap in the attachment of the top plate to the chassis only on the left side. So slight it is only… discernible when pressing on the top while cleaning and no problems with cooking. Don't think it allows spilt fluids to drain - no evidence anyway :) . Top oven is great for browning lasagna and the like but a little inconsistent for baking. The main oven is brilliant but, only apparent when baking something like very light and fluffy cup cakes, cooks very, very slightly hotter at the rear; never an issue when roasting. The options for fan, grilling and roasting are great and the main oven grill is fantastic. The removable inner glass on the doors is a great idea, have never had to clean the main glass. I have to get the book open to know how to set the oven timer; if I used it more often or if I was a bit younger it wouldn't be a problem. I would prefer the clock to read am/pm but realise this would compromise timer functions. Given the prices for stand alone induction cook tops I considered this a bargain when I bought it but expected it not to last too well. On the contrary, it is as good now as the day it was delivered. Provided you can live with the low level side opening door I highly recommend this cooker. |

Verified Samsung QA65Q60RAWXXY Practically faultless and at $1895 is great value – Bought this as soon as Good Guys announced the price reduction. My earlier 55" Samsung was good but this is bigger and better even if it is Samsung's lowest level QLED offered.… Picture quality is great but SD shortcomings show up on the larger format. Can't think blacks really need to be any blacker. On a single colour still picture background (mainly pink ones) there is an almost indiscernible patchiness but I'm being really picky. Compact, minimalist remote control has a learning curve but once familiar has the benefit of not hitting unwanted buttons when everyday viewing. YouTube videos cannot be forwarded with this remote - fortunately I have a Samsung Blue-Ray player with all the smarts which solves that problem. I understand that the size may deem a swivel stand unworkable but the supplied legs, while quite stable, are tall and make the set sit higher than necessary. Samsung wants you to fill this space with a soundbar but if you connect to an A/V receiver there is an unsightly gap made worse by the reflection if on a black glass top. Samsung should offer shorter legs. I merely undid the connections from my old TV and plugged them into the new one. Everything worked first time but with much less lag. The EPG, Samsung version long endured rather than appreciated, is vastly improved with lack of information and delays updating practically eliminated. The options for selection of smarts are really good and the ambient feature works well, not that I think I will ever use it. For many mere mortals the cost of a 4K 65" TV has been prohibitive. I think this one is now well worth the money. |

Verified Optimum 9200A 2nd Generation Major improvement on smaller blenders – Great blender at less than half the price of some other name brands. Doesn't miss a thing including flax seeds (providing I load them with the water first). So efficient I seldom… need to use the tamper. Needs to be loaded with a fair amount in the large jug provided. I have contacted Froothie who say a smaller jug is planned - some time away but I will buy one when it arrives. Froothie's response to my jug enquiry was swift and polite - I was impressed. This is well worth the (promotional) price. Much better than the bullet type blenders which make you dismantle the blades from the jug and start again if first attempt doesn't pack down well. Also can hold at least twice as much as the bullets. So far I've made green smoothies, fruit smoothies, whole fruit drinks (my dinner guests loved them) and one soup. Soup was a bit too well aerated but I have noted comments to use a slower speed when preparing. Everything tried has turned out exactly as planned. The unit has a huge and powerful motor which I think will last forever in domestic use. If you have any need for a blender I strongly recommend that you buy this one. |
