Toshiba Satellite L10 Toshiba Satelite L10 b003 is great for $250 Jan 2015 – When compared to $1500 notebooks this is 2 to 3/10 but at $250/$300 this thing is 9 to 10/10. The spes are low and the 2G RAM is very disappointing but It was $100 to $150 more… before I could find any computer that started to make any real improvement on this one. You would be looking at $600 before you really start to out class this one. It will be fine for the internet, Microsoft office and storing some photos and music(listening with headphones, the speakers are OK but most note book speakers are not my first choice). This will not do anything but the most basic games or photo editing. To run at its best you will need to remove the bloat ware and programs you do not need. Don't worry if you find you need some of these things later, you can download them when you do, most of the stuff is trail or free ware or you can find better ones that are free. On top of that, If you feel you have gone to far you can factory reset in the recovery section and you will have everything you started with again. I suggest looking at tech sites and youtube for laptop/windows optimisation. Tek syndicate on youtube have a good one for what to do with a new notebook. The information you find will apply for most notebooks. I brought this laptop to be a mobile media Pc between two dumb TVs and for the kids to watch movies on the go. It is fine working through hdmi to the tv, no problems with streaming iview and the others and does 1080p on youtube to the tv no problems at all. |

Breville Compact Café BES250 Cafe Roma reincarnate? – Got this to replace my great café roma. Only after I lost the screw for the grill in the bin, I think. It was not practical making 6 coffees a day with the grill popping out.… Besides the old girl was looking a bit worse for wear after 7 years. Don't worry, roma went to a good home of a (one home coffee a week) friend. Was worried about changing to a different machine and purchased with fingers crossed. It is similar but took a couple goes to get it right and has been consistently good for nearly a year. I guess people do get lemons. Not sure how many are dropped or dropped on or something stupid done to them by a silent other half. This thing is not absolutely perfect but for $140 or less you can make a great coffee. Give it a bit of time to learn heating and expressing times and have fun trying different coffee types. Once you get your rhythm it takes not much more time than instant. The only bad thing is, how average most cafés coffee now seems and thinking about getting home to have a good one. P.S. Just read some more reviews, the heat issue I am not sure about other than letting it heat up a bit longer before making, if this does not work, you got a bad one. You do need to have the proper grind of coffee. Forget grinding your own unless you really know what you are doing or have a really really good automatic grinder. The rubber o ring problem maybe from remaining coffee being pressed and twisted against it when making the next coffee. Wipe the o ring after you make a coffee and if there is lots of grinds remaining you may not be tapping down properly or have the wrong type of grind. Would be interesting to know how many of the people having problems grind their own coffee. If the coffee is to fine or coarse it will create pressure problems as well. Just buy some pre grind coffee to get started, make sure it is for coffee machines and not for plungers or drip filters. I had a lot of the same problems as other people are, when I got my first coffee machine years ago. I would buy pre grind coffee and have problems only to figure out it was for a plunger. I bought a cheap grinder and had troubles getting constant grinds. I went through 3 or 4 o rings in a few years. |

Breville ESP8C Long lasting. easy and great value machine – Brought this after one at work lasted through years of abuse. Ours has done the same, 4 years, avg. of at least six coffees a day. I use filter tap water and run CLR through… maybe once/twice a year. I also unscrew the strainer plate and give that a good wash about once a year. Makes great coffee but you need to find the right type of grind. My sug. for a quick, great coffee, is to use Caffe Aurora Italian style pre ground. Microwave about 200mls milk(so good reg. works as well) for 45secs in a mug. express your coffee straight into the mug with a quick stir, comes out a tasty and creamy latte every time. I do not bother with the frother unless making a cappuccino. Cheap, easy, long life and makes great coffee. |
