Verified Optimum G2.3 Platinum Series A pro unit – We had the THE OPTIMUM 9200A (2ND GEN) and upgraded to the new G2.3. The price difference is large. One of the best features for us is that the new unit is much quieter. At least… 40% in my opinion. You also get a small second jug which is great as often you are only blending small items. Ie nuts which we do a lot of. This is a top end professional unit, so it is expensive to buy, but you do get a five year warranty and lifetime on the motor which is amazing really. Is it worth the upgrade price? Only if you can afford it as the 9200A was a great unit also.So we have not had this unit long but it is really very nice. If you cook a lot and use your blender a lot I would suggest a great long term buy. If you only use your blender once a week i think the 9200A is the choice. The unit is easy wipe clean which is important also, as long term some units with big buttons gets sludge and gunk on them and this is just wipe clean. This is also a deciding factor for us with the blender and makes it a professional blender. |

Verified Optimum 9200A 2nd Generation Noisy blender. good but noisy – We ordered the new Optimum 9200A and gave it a hard test. Crushing almonds into almond butter. The result, beautiful fresh almond butter. Now we have tried three different… blenders over the last few years and in reality they cannot crush nuts well. The Optimum also is a great juicer that crushes pineapple and ice in seconds. The five year warranty that comes with the machine as standard is great peace of mind. The other bonus is the buttons are simply wipe clean. Well done to Froothie for making a very nice professional machine for the home kitchen. UPDATE. June 16, We have now had this blender over 6 months. While it is a good unit it is the noisiest blender in the entire world. Seriously when blending it is louder than a jet engine. We actually put on builders earmuffs when blending soups or nuts as the blender needs to be on a while, and if we did not wear ear muffs it would damage your hearing. I think it should be pointed out that if you have small children they should not be in the same room while blending or they would damage their hearing long term. We are now in a smaller kitchen than when we first bought the machine so it is louder than in an open plan kitchen. I asked another owner and they also said the noise is a big negative. Following the noise issue I would now downgrade the blender to 3.5 stars till this problem was worked out. |
