1000 Hour Eyelash & Brow Dye Kit

I used the new light brown/blonde tint. At first I thought it was quick and simple. Boy did I get a shock. Out to lunch, my husband looked at me smiled, and said “My god what did you do, you look like the puppet agro” My brows were a horrible ginger, and they kept getting darker too. Not the same product I’ve used for 50 yrs. Never again.

have been consistantly reapplying this new version this morning with a very dissapointing result - the colour is just not there and it is patchy. Sorry but after all these years I will be purchasing a different brand next time.

1000 hour lash and brow dye is a fantastic product and I have used it forever with great result. Recently packaging has changed. I accidentally picked up the lash and brow tint kit, without realising there was a dye kit and a tint kit. I didn't like the tint kit but love the dye kit. Packaging of tint kit needs to be different than dye kit though

patchy and because it advised to apply the colour gel first (which is a clear gel) then the developer after, I have no idea where it's going. I now have nearly black patchy brows to match my dark blonde hair right before my wedding! Fabulous timing. Can only hope it fades now. Hugely disappointing, will be finding a new product.

Great effect and super convenient – I've used both the standard 1000 Hour Lash and Eyebrow Dye, and the gentler (they say) plant based dye. They're both convenient and cost effective, but personally I prefer the plant based one and I've continued to use it. as if applying mascara, wait the appropriate time, and apply the developer in the same way.

For me, the result is really effective and I don't have to worry about smudging and panda eyes. I also think that my eyelashes are healthier since switching from mascara to this. However, I don't think the colour of the plant based dye is as intense as the standard dye, and I definitely don't think either is as intense as mascara, or a salon dye job. It you prefer your eyelashes to be more dramatic, this might not be the best product for you.

Used this product for years, it was great, it used to stain my brown brows for weeks…. now this new formula does not work. Why change a good thing? Really disappointing.

The new formula is TERRIBLE!!! Do not even bother. I used the old formula for the past 3 years with no issues. The new formula stained my skin and made my brows look orange/brown and weird. second go and followed the written instructions precisely BUT still ended up with an awful result. I had to use heavy concealer to hide the staining to the skin around my brows. So disappointing. I’m going back to paying to get my brows fine rather than risking this product again.

At first apply i let it sit for 4 min likr the box suggested but thetr was no difference at all. I reapplied and let sit for longer. Removed the product and it was red. Like GINGER. mins and realised my eyebrows turned incredibly BLACK. For a product that is meant to lightly tint your brows blonde, definitely does not work wnd makes things worse than the beginning. Would definitely not recommend or repurchase

Like everyone else here, the new box also contains a new/changed formula that is hard to apply, sludgy and doesn't even tint my lashes. Dyed them twice in 5 days and still no colour! Will try a different brand if any. What a shame. This product used to be amazing!

New formula is terrible. I’ve been using this product for years (liquid developer and cream tint formula). New formula is harder to apply, colour results are terrible (went orange on my skin) and resulted in stinging/ skin reaction. Will need to go to market for an alternative

I’ve used this product for about 10 years. The new product (changed packaging but still has the bottle of developer and the tube of tint) has given me an allergic reaction with red, lumpy, throbbing eyebrows. In the bin!

New formula doesn’t work. 3 attempts and no visible difference. Have been using this product for 10+ years however I will not be buying again, waste of money I do not recommend!

Doesn't work at all. Tried the light brown/blonde and it made no difference to my light blonde eyebrow hairs and it didn't color the skin underneath the brows at all. Complete waste of money.

They've changed the formula, despite me contacting the company directly and them denying it. Doesn't work anymore, goes on clear rather than brown, left it on for an hour and no results.

I have used this for years and love it so much but they changed it and the new one is crap and completely different to use and doesn't work half as good as the old one. Looks like I have to find a new product,....any ideas?

Hate the new formula. Can't see when applying because it's clear and the end results are patchy. I'm going to try to find the old formula online because I'm never using this new one again. Been using this product for years, very disappointed

1000 hours is useless now – I have bought 1000 hours for years never had an issue but bought it again and it's absolutely terrible they have changed it I won't be buying it again doesn't work money down the drain will be contacting them to complain awful product

Shockingly bad – The new formula is shockingly bad. Stained the skin under my brow hairs, no way to avoid this and you can’t remove it. It looks RIDICULOUS. Why fix something that isn’t broken? Go back to the old formula. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT BUY THIS.

Great results but liquid evaporated before second use – The results were actually amazing. I loved it for my eye brows. I got 1 use out of it, I stored the packet in my cabinet, went to use it tonight and all the liquid in the developer has evaporated :(

New but not improved...useless don't bother – Seemed to make no difference at all on eyelashes and brows. Used as directed. Tried 3 times. I have previously used this product same name different packaging Old formulation worked well. Im very dissapointed, waste of time and money.

Annoyed – Echoing many of the previous comments….. have used the original formula for decades but the new concoction is useless…..very poor colour change and only lasts a few days rather than at least a month with the original! Blue Black doesn’t work at all !

Pack did not say GINGER BROWS – If you want bright ginger eyebrows instead of light brown or blonde then go for it. Horrific! I would not take the risk of using this product, unless your looking for clown vibes.

Terrible new formula! 0/10!!!!!! – I have been using the old formular for years. I just used it and my brows are SO DARK and uneven, chemically burned my skin. The new application is terrible, I am so upset now I look like a cow.

It only lasts 1-2 weeks if your lucky – Formula has changed and now it only lasts 1-2 weeks before fading (I used to get a month of good colour) will be finding a new product from now on. Very disappointed as I loved this product for years. I hope the cost saving on the formula does not pay off for all the lost customers.

Caterpillars on my brow – I have used the product on my greying brows for years and was happy with the subtle result and I had no trouble removing the dye from my skin. angry caterpillars on my brow. I have tried several products to try and lessen the dye but no luck. I have made a hairdressers appointment in the hope that she can remove the dye for me. Sadly the new product is not for me.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT – This product doesn’t even deserve one star, the box shows a nice warm brown labeled medium brown… I now have pretty much black brows and my hair is warm brown! The contrast is horrific… the product application is terrible as you don’t know until it’s to late.. I took it off immediately and have given my self a chemical burn trying to strip this product and it won’t budge! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

Old formula not good for eyelashes – I have only ever used this product (old formula) on my eyelashes. It is impossible to add liquid drop by drop because it pours out. I have tried taking out the white plastic bit and placing it the other way. Same result. End up with a liquid mess all over my hands and eye area.

Unhappy – I have been using this for years but just lately it hasn’t been working properly it fades after a few days. I was wondering if the formula has been changed. Happy I found these reviews as now I know what the problem is. I will find a new brand that works!

New formula SUCKS – Have been using old formula (cream + liquid with little stick) for years. Dark brown was coming out too dark so purchased a medium brown, but this new double gel formula is even darker! Nightmare to apply with the spoolies, so messy and have stained my skin in places I don't want stain even with a barrier used first DO NOT BUY NEW GEL FORMULA

Awful – Awful. I am bitterly disappointed in the new product. It used to take 5 minutes to achieve good results, it's now taking 15 minutes, it's difficult to apply with the thick brushes and the natural black has too much brown. For more than10 years I had used 1000Hours with great results. I am now looking for an alternative.

Love for brows only – I love the 1000 hour dye kit. It has been a lifesaver, a 1000 times over for my brows only though. I have blonde brows and lashes, and dye my hair brunette, every few weeks. This kits saves me going and getting my blows dyed to match. Never for my lashes though, I find it burns and hard to apply. I have never used the strips, I have to use my own brush.
